What's not to love!
We have been very happy with our Kia Cerato. Mechanically it has never let us down yet. It is extremely comfortable with leather heat/cool electric seats, auto lights, keyless entry and auto locking, sun roof. Looks are very pleasing. Only problem we have had was with the Radio Head Unit which just died after 2 years and was promptly replaced with a new (and better, more up to date) one. The sedan boot is very large and rear seats can fold down to make it even larger. Great warranty. Great price.

I rang the dealership many times and they keep on saying that this problem is from manufacture and they cant fix this. I took car took car to them twice also but got same reply that they cant fix it as this is problem from manufacture. Fed up with that now.

Value For Money
This is an awesome car. with a price point of under $20000 you cannot ask for more.
6SP Automatic transmission, Good leg room, large boot space, touch screen multimedia system with Android Auto and Apple Car play.
It gives a mileage of around 8 Lt/100km.
I love every bit of it. The purchase was smooth, sales representative at Kia Parramatta was very friendly and gave a good deal.

Make sure you know where the Satnav is going and your speed is correct!
I cannot fault the physics or driving of the Cerato, but the Satnav, that's something else, it goes where it wants, sort of; we have gone wrong numerous times because the Satnav is so out of date and for a 2017 Cerato having an old Satnav software is bad! We are on the list for an update on the Satnav, but even that wasn't easy. When I realised the problem, I sent 2 emails to the dealership with no replies, I then emailed KIA Australia, and again, no reply, sad really as I always like things in writing as that is proof of contact, but they make...Read more
you do it on their Website and then there is no proof you have written. After much ado, I telephoned KIA Australia, they informed me that there is a problem with the Satnav software and it is a warrantee item, so go to the dealership and make sure you speak to them face to face. I returned to the Dealership and they denied ever receiving any email from me, but they knew about the Satnav and were waiting for some company to re-write the software, then my name will be on the list for the update no later than February 2018, so now we wait, and there's more! The Satnav has a warning about your speed, if exceeded it says, "You are going too fast!", but if only, this happens when stood, it happens when you are on a main road and you have just entered it, and it is constant when there has been a new road built and completed in the past couple of years. I wondered much about the 2 speedos in the dash, one digital and one the standard odometer; once driving up to Hervey Bay, drivers behind seemed to be a little bit angry, letting me know in uncertain terms, so I installed my Garmin, long my trusted speedo, and to my surprise, based on the Garmin, I was driving slower than I thought, between 5 kilometres and 7 kilometres, depending on road conditions. I asked the dealership about this discrepancy and they told me that this was done on purpose so that customers did not break speed limits, believe it or not! Only time will tell if the Satnav gets fixed, but the speedos in the cars will remain as is, though I feel that it well may be a good idea. However, please do not let this deter anyone from buying a Cerato, they are, have been, and I have no doubt will always be, a great car; my wife and I have talked about this in depth and we both agree, the Cerato is a great car, great to drive, great on fuel economy, and great on safety; so, by a Cerato and you are buying a good car that will serve you well and keep you and or your family very safe, but make sure the software in both the speedometer and the Satnav have been updated.1 comment

It is everything you’ll need! Great for a small family.
It’s so quiet that I sometimes forget that the engine is on when on idle. Legroom is big specially at the back compared to other sedan cars. I love the auto lock feature of it because sometimes I forget to lock the car that it gives me peace of mind. It is offered in their basic model unlike other car dealership where their basic models sometimes doesn’t have the auto lock feature. I totally love this car.

A fabulous car for the money.
Every time we took our 2008 BMW in for a service the mechanic would warn us that this or that was going to crap itself before long - if it wasn't the diff or gearbox it was always something else and it was going to cost heaps to fix, so we started looking around for a replacement. We settled on the Kia Cerato after looking at a few different makes - and so glad we did. It is beautiful to look at, drives like a dream (we reckon it's better than the Beema) and has lots of options like reversing cameras, bluetooth etc - heaps for the money (unde...Read more
r $20k drive away!) The first service was ridiculously cheap (about $48) and the mechanic came to the office. Now we have the peace of mind of a 7 year warranty and 5 year fixed price service agreement. No more worries like we had with the BMW. Kia have really lifted their game and I would recommend the Cerato - it is incredible value for money and I am surprised there aren't more of them on the road.Similar opinion? Great little runabout.
Handles the road like a dream. Quiet and comfortable to ride in and easy to park. Never had a car with all the mod cons before and I am still getting used to reversing cameras, adjustable seating and all the other features. I haven't yet programmed my phone in as I don't like talking and driving, but all there features are available. I think it will take me the whole 7 year warranty period to learn all about what it can do.

Kia cerato 2016 sav great
Running costs are very low it costs 40 to 50$ to fill the tank and its been very reliable so far. It averages 7ltrs per 100km. The interior is very stylish and the car is so smooth to drive and definitely not sluggish like my old holden cruze.
Only downside would be the phine connectivity i always have to confirm the connection on my phone which is annoying when you just want to jump in and go.

Fatastic, comfortable, responsive and great value.
Purchased October 2016, my Kia Cerato S Premium is an absolute pleasure to drive. Good fuel economy and very comfortable, with all the extras such as auto lights, auto door locking, rear camera, GPS Sat Nav included. A software update fixed my problem with the AV unit cutting out intermittently. In Econ mode, the engine noise is a bit high when shifting down a gear. Overall, an excellent car for the price with the added bonus of the 7 year warranty and fixed price servicing. I'll definately be looking at the Cerato again when it is time to update.
Purchased in October 2021 for A$22,800.00.

Brilliant car
Ditched the european car and will never buy another. If someone told me 5 years ago that I would love a Kia more than any other car I have had I would have laughed at them, but it has been excellent. Pleasure to drive over short or long distances. Not a thing has gone wrong except for the Sat Nav which packed it in recently and was quickly replaced under warranty. Servicing isn't exactly a bargain, but at least being capped we know what we are in for. Looking forward to getting a larger Kia sometime soon.

KIA CERATO YD SLI 2017
I bought this car in Feb 2017. The feautures are amazing and very advanced similar to a high end car like BMW, Merc etc. good reliability, smooth handling, only makes little noise when try to accelerate on Eco mode drive. Got three Modes, Eco, Normal and Sports. Heaps of standard and extra features. only drawback No CD / DVD Drive.
Mileage is low as compared to advertised. Plenty of leg room for front passengers, ok for the back. Good dashboard. Running cost high due to Low mileage.
Big boot space and 7 years warranty with full spare tyre. Getting used to the new car from my Toyota Yarris Yr.

MY new car
Having only had it 5 days so far so good. I have to readjust myself to new seating etc but good. The drive is good and getting used to it compared to old car. The motor has plenty of power and gearbox has excellent response when going up from slow speed. The legroom is ample but have to sit in back to evaluate it. My passengers are happy so must be ok. Interior is very good. Leg room is a problem [minor] as got to get seats set up properly as being tall makes it a bit harder in/out. So far it is hard to evaluate fuel use as only 5 days old.i wa...Read more
tch the gauge to see if good economy and good as not lead foot. Dashboard is well lit and plenty of instruments to look at. Radio is very good but have only got 2 stations using at present so have to read the manual. Have got Bluetooth installed but can answer in calls but have to work out out calls. Having this car hopefully it will be last in line of 8. The warranty is very good. 7 years/105000 ks,7 years fixed price service and 7 year roadside assist. When i asked about the assist i was told its part of the price etc. I have 50 years NRMA so to keep the continuity of service they drop down membership to Traveller Care and that way i keep up with them and Kia if needed. It covers me IF i need assist outside of 100 km distance and no Kia coverage. I was told by a friend to keep the selling dealer service car and each year the time is added onto the list. Not sure about using cruise control yet but time will see if i do. No noise into cabin as i have 4 weather shields and that keeps it out. September 19th 2017 Update: Using a KIA cerato After buying my Kia and driving for a couple of months I am very happy with it. It has a couple of quirks that need to be remembered. There are 2 small glass windows in front of both side mirrors. Why they are there is not known but very distracting when using the mirrors for lane changing. Also no CD player and only AM/FM radio which are very good in city but not knowing non-city stations makes it hard. I have about 300 CD,s that need to be loaded onto USB's so I can listen to music. As for driving it is very good on open roads and good economy if cruise control and high octane fuel [not E10] is used. Just had free 3000 km service. One bit of advise. IF by chance you need to buy/install new outside mirrors expect to pay $700 plus supply/fit. Just been down that road after someone [clown] hit it. Plenty of boot space and 5 people sit ok. We have baby seat in rear so that cuts it to 4 but still room to sit in comfort. One thing that i found out is the car has 7 year roadside assist as well as your normal company [whatever state]. But you need to contact them and get special price that allows your membership to stay until other expires. It is good for country areas where Kia may not have a presence but they use state wide people.1 comment

Great realible car
For the money my cerato has been the perfect car. Never had a single warranty claim in over 3 years of ownership. All it needs is fuel and a service. It is a more basic car but has everything you need.
Drives well for what it is, safe and very reliable.

Perfect cars become good overtime
Sounds like there are issues with customers on their Cerato, but I've no problem with my sons Cerato SLi bought in 2015 when it was under 3 years old. I've driven it about a dozen times, when he's allowed me to! I drive an i45 myself so I understand the Korean cars. The car is smooth to drive almost have to step on the gas, the seats are plush and it fabricates my adhesion to the seats. When I drive it is for about 20km to the fuel kiosk. No problem encountered with audio CD player. I've not tested his blue tooth features. I'm satisfied he has bought a very good quality sedan with a warrantee still at age 4! When dealing with Korean car dealers be nice to them and they will give you the world!

was pleasantly suprised with this little beauty.
this is a great looking car, inside and out and exceptional value for money. The seven year warranty and roadside assist are better than anything offered by any other manufacturer and were a major factor in my purchase. Car is "sure footed" and drives very directly, being easy to handle. Fuel economy surpassed the stated estimates and the interior is smart and comfortable. The boot is surprisingly large. My only criticism is there is more than usual road noise from the tyres that are fitted as factory standard but cannot fault the vehicle in any other way.

Kia Cerato Koup 1.6 Turbo 2016
Driving Experience, Great, cannot fault the car. The dashboard is made in a way that all your instrumentation is easy to see as this is at an angel fro the driver. Reliability so far I had nor Problems with the car as I am on 49,757 Km right now. Running costs is affordable for services. I still have a 2011 Cerato 2.0 auto with 257,690km, and I never had a problem with this car that is why I kept the car & did not trade it in on the new car. The interior is like the day I bought the car. Both cars have leather interior.

Great value for money. Beautiful car to drive.
Lovely car to drive. Handles well, quiet on road and very responsive acceleration. Lots of bells and whistles in the S (AV) option. - Love the reversing camera, reversing sensors, auto lights, and all the great little extras. Very happy with the overall performance and handling. The big touch screen and Android auto play is brilliant - Very easy to use and manage. 7 years unlimited km and capped price service warranty is a big plus. Have only had the car for a few days so, can't comment on reliability and fuel consumption yet - time will tell if it lives up to its RACV and Wheels magazine good recommendations. Very good value for money.

into a service bay, then at 11:55am, it was driven back and they told me that the satnav had been updated; well, I have a security camera in the car, so after the car was driven into the service bay, nobody entered the car until they brought it back to me, the security camera didn't come back on until 11:53am. On top of that, we drove it around areas where the satnav incorrectly had the speed wrong as well as directional test, failed both times; I had to be sure before I wrote this, so sad when a dealership not only does the wrong thing but tries to shaft me again, don't they know about security cameras?
