A SERIOUS CERATO PROBLEM!?
This month is the 50th Anniversary of my Drivers Licence and in all that time I've never had a problem like the following before!
Rodents have attacked the hoses & insulation under the hood of my new Cerato GT! A little research has led me to believe that KIA is now manufacturing those components with Vegetable-Oil based Materials and the rodents are finding it attractive to chew on! I'm told that the repairs are not covered by Warranty, but it seems to me that "faulty" Materials should be covered, as well as the resulting secondary damage caused by them. I'm wondering how many other BD Cerato Owners have suffered something similar??

If the battery goes flat on the flip fold key.how do i open the door to gain entry to the vehicle.

I have a GT which has the smart key however, if it's the same this is how you do it. Use the key part to pry off the plastic on the left of the drivers door handle using the small key hole on the bottom. If you crouch down and look under the handle you will see the little hole. Using the key pry it off, try not to damage the paint. When you take it off you can see a traditional key lock. Nathan did a video on this however I am not sure how you would deactivate the alarm without a key battery. See his video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XTYEfBvF4co

I read somewhere that it is possible to unlock the doors as well as start the engine remotely with the GT using the Smart Key. But I can't find any confirmation or instructions. It would be great to start the engine whilst outside the car to allow it to warm up before entering... How to do??

I have the GT too, it would be great as the car likes to warm itself up first and it would be nice to just do that remotely. As far as I know I don't think there is a way to do it, otherwise remote start would be in the feature's/specs. Maybe it's a feature for the European Ceed/Proceed.
There might be an after-market add-on that does it, but I guess that might invalidate the Kia Warranty (??)

Kia Cerato 2017 model - I always have problems with the Satnav with error message = "Problem occured while connecting Android Auto. Please connect Android Auto again" Each time I complain about this at servicing time they say - software has to be updated or they need to tune it again. The problem comes back after 2 days. Off lately the screen turns white! and also it has to be reconnected several times or only after 10-25 minutes after driving. Please help.

Sorry i don't know how to fix this issue but if you can take a video of what you are describing i am pretty certain kia will try to resolve this issue for you through warranty or maybe just replace the radio unit. Hope this help. My local dealer is kia waitara they pretty easy to deal with. :D GL !

I have 2015 cerato hatch 58000ks which just stopped whilst driving. Replaced battery... put 5 Litres fuel in as was low but not enough to run out...car still won’t start. Towed to Kia Dealer waiting on diagnosis. Serviced less than 5ks ago at Kia dealer.

On my KIA only the android auto keeps going on and off intermittently ( Kia dealer can't find any fault with the unit so i gave up and just deal with the problem by unplug and plug the cable ) but i haven't noticed the factory radio does that. Maybe take the car back to KIA and let them do a check. Hope this helps .
Hi Pat, Is this AM or FM also there's two different head sets, S model has one without any faults what so ever. The model with 2.0ltr has the issues reported. Where by you pay $4 k les then a corolla right, so to purchase a top of range unit after you discuss the issue with Kia of course, I would then purchase private from JB HIFI have it all installed with every added extra possible and your still $3k ahead of anything close in it's class.

I can no longer play music from my Samsung Galaxy S8 on the stereo in my Cerato Sport+(2018). It says something about 'information not available" I can still make phone calls and the radio still works. I have disconnected Bluetooth and rebooted but to no avail, I have tried connecting the phone by cable but no joy. My music still plays on my Samsung. I am due for the 1 year service in August (I won't get to 10,000) but I'd like my music back before then.

Hi
Inside my car, the middle console is generating a lot heat and I assume its coming from the transmission. I just want to know if anyone else has experienced this issue and is it a easy fix?

Front wheel drive therefore no transmission goes along the middle of the car, only the exhaust.

My 2015 Kia Cerato radio/reversing camera/gps visual display has gone blank. After returning home and turning off I switched on again after about 30 minutes. The display came on again but went blank after a few minutes. The radio sound still works but the change station button does not work. The vehicle was serviced (oil change etc) 3 days ago.
