A must for the elderly
The KISA phone was essential for my grandmother to talk to family and friends. Other phones became too complex to use, so the one press buttons were fantastic. The customer service has been friendly and prompt, especially when the phone was 'no longer required'. The monthly charge was also very reasonable.

Great concept
Great idea but customer services is appalling call go silent all the time. They aren’t cutting out just can’t be heard. Customer service keep telling me it our fault must be service. But no other mobiles in house have this problem. I am now looking at alternatives as this is useless.

Terrible - makes a senior even more isolated than they already are
My Dad doesn't get to the phone quickly enough to answer it.
There is no notification of who called him so he cannot return the call. So, he is losing all of his friends who give up after 4-6 unsucessful attempts.
Even if he could see who had contacted him, he cannot return the call because this is not an option on KISA - unbelievable.
As soon as I have bought him a new phone I will contact his friends to let them know so they can start ringing him again.

Great concept, misleading selling point re: battery life and disgusting customer service!
After researching numerous providers, we settled on Kisa, prominently because the standby battery life was claimed to last up to 5 days. The phone itself is a great concept and we were happy with the product upon arrival. However, we quickly realized that the battery (on standby) would only last less than 24hrs. The phone has been sent back to Kisa twice (at our expense) and on both occasions were were aggressively told there is nothing wrong with the phone. With the exception of the sales representative who called us to initially set up the ph...Read more
one, our other experiences with customer service has been appalling..... defensive, argumentative and highly inappropriate! I would not recommend this service to anyone and I strongly suggest that Kisa invest some resources into training their customer service team. I will be cancelling this contract today.

Peace of mind
Easy to remember process made it reassuring method of contact in an emergency for both the user and their loved ones. The consultation with Community confirmed and therefore visually brilliant for the impaired. A thoughtful and effective communication device. The colours were appropriate for specific vision impairment and the process for call making easy for the fragility of the learner.
The billing is clear and cost effective .
All of this helps with the effective communication needed to minimise isolation for the elderly and the impaired and gives family a sense of security as well as the user.

lifeline
with severe apraxia following a stroke my wife was severely limited in her capacity to use a conventional mobile phone. Within a short period of time she was able to use her Kisa phone and it became her lifeline and an enormous comfort to her to be able to contact help when needed

Teach an old dog new tricks.
Prior to me purchasing the KISA phone for my 92 year old father, I would worry if I phoned him and he did not answer the home phone. I would worry if he went out in the car just in case it broke down or worse. As I work full time and 40 minutes away from home it is not easy to get home quickly when not able to contact him, just to realize he was sitting outside doing a crossword or gone to the shop! I tend not to worry as much about him as he is always contactable. He takes his phone everywhere. So proud of him as you can teach an old dog new tricks.

Some problems that I'm hoping will be sorted
My brother's occupational therapist suggested we trial this phone for him. However the phone, at under $200.00, is so inexpensive that I decided to buy it immediately. The OT was able to teach him to successfully use it quite quickly.
One of the main reasons I chose this phone was for the GPS system. However, in the 24 hours the phone has been activated this function has NOT been reliably working. After speaking to someone higher up in the hierarchy I was informed that KISA are working to remedy this situation and that payment for the GPS fu...Read more
nction will be free until such a time. There are also some concerns about customer service. The response from the front-line staff can be defensive when an issue is raised. Additionally, there can be a failure to listen to, and respond, to specific questions. It’s been my experience that some staff offer long monologues in response to very specific questions. It wasn’t until I was transferred to someone higher in the hierarchy that a concise explanation and appropriate customer service response was received. Additional training for frontline staff would remedy this problem. It’s early days, but I’m hopeful that KISA will iron out the problems listed above. I'll keep you updated.Similar opinion? Best gift ever for our daughter who lives in supported accommodation
We bought this phone one year ago as a Christmas present for our daughter who is in her mid thirties and who has an intellectual disability and lives in supported accommodation - this has been the best present we have ever bought her as she has been able to ring her two brothers and two sisters plus us as parents whenever she has wanted to. Also it has enabled us to call her at anytime. The phone has enabled us to have almost daily contact with her instead of just visiting her every two weeks. The phone we purchased allowed her to call eight nu...Read more
mbers - she is unable to read except family names so we used everyone's first name on the call buttons plus we used a photo of our house for the eighth number - so she could call our home via a landline. We have now ordered a second phone (different colour) to replace the first phone (which is still in great condition) as she wanted to be like the others in her family and "upgrade". Thanks KISA for a great product!!Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Peace of mind and security for the elderly
My parents are 89 and 92, living in a retirement village. A year ago Mum needed to ring an ambulance for Dad who had suddenly collapsed. Their landline phone was not working "due to a technical fault" and she could not remember in her panic how to navigate the 2nd-hand iphone they'd been given. Eventually, with the help of a neighbour, I was contacted and the ambulance came. Thankfully it all turned out ok.
So when I was told about the KISA phone I didn't hesitate to buy one for my parents! They've had it it for nearly a year now and are ex...Read more
tremely happy with their colourful little phone, finding it so easy to use, convenient and reliable. Sure, the sound quality is not perfect, the ring is quite 'shrill' but for a lightweight, convenient, reasonably priced mobile phone it's all they need for their peace of mind. They tell everyone about it, like it's their new toy! I particularly like the automatic call cut-off option. I usually ring them straight back if we need to talk longer than the set 3 minutes, but if we forget then there's no risk of using up all their credit. I've also set the dial option to 2 presses so they don't have any accidental dialling. The emergency dial (SOS) is programmed by KISA for 4 presses. All this information can be written on the back of the phone during setup to be referred to it if they forget. When they do dial emergency I receive a text message to advise that they've dialled. With excellent customer service that is easily accessible, friendly and professional, I would highly recommend this well-designed phone for anyone who finds it hard to use other mobile phones.Similar opinion? Very unreliable
Bought this for mum last year. Concept great. What lets this device down is: 1. It's poor battery performance, 2. Difficulty ending or picking up a call, 3. Frequency of accidental calls, 4. Ridiculous ring tone. I wouldn't recommend this phone and will now need to buy something more reliable.

Perfect for the elderly
My parents are in an aged care facility. They have a KISA phone each. These phones are brilliant and very simple to use. Have the GPS feature activated for my Mum in case she gets the wanders - we haven’t needed it yet, but it is there and I know it works if she does go wandering.
Customer service is brilliant, you actually speak to a very helpful person. The support staff are very understanding of the specific needs of the elderly.

Great option for elderly
Purchase for 86 year old, for peace of mind when away from the house. She had no previous mobile phone use and not technically minded, when the phone arrived was able to set up and use with confidence. Great customer support from Kisa all the way from the first enquiry. The only improvement would be to find a solution to accidentally calling when the phone is in a handbag.

Free at last!
Margaret C was without phone contact for over 2 weeks after being connected to the NBN. At 92 years and living on her own, both her and family were unable to communicate and they became stressed when nothing was happening. We had seen a Kisa phone being used by another resident and after research etc purchased the device with her family's blessings. It arrived 2 days after she sat with me, her neighbour, and built the phone over the internet. Margaret soon found it the best thing she had come across and so easy to use - names not numbers. She said "I am free now" and the phone goes everywhere. Something I have never had before and better than any landline. Her family who live nearly 100kms away say it is perfect for all.

Learning to communicate again.
I had been sick and in hospital for some months and found the Kisa extremely easy to use and made it very
easy to keep in touch with family. I have now graduated to an ordinary mobile phone but am extremely
thankful to the Kisa for making it a stepping stone from one to another.

Priceless!!
Facilitating communication for the elderly to communicate in a technological world is priceless. The ease of use, the memory prompts and the emergency assistance all provide security for the user and comfort for the family. The joy at being part of the 'new' world is a delightful memory that will last.

This is perfect solution who has elderly parents
My mother is 90 years old. She lives at the residential age care. It is hard for her to use normal telephone, lots of buttons and she is confused which one she needs to press. So, I decided to purchase Kisa phone for her. And it was very good idea.
I call to my mother 3 times per day, she needs to press only green button and we are connected. She doesn't feel lonely now and for me it is very good, I feel more relaxed when I can talk to her.
I recommend to have this phone to people who have elderly people and leave at the residential age care facilities.
It is big help for me now. And my mother is very attached to this phone, it is like her connection to me.

Multiple accidental calls from sitting in handbag, even with the case on, and terrible customer serv
I purchased the phone and $25 per month usage from Kisa over a year ago. My grandmother is 96 years old and has severe visual impairment and I wanted a phone that was easy to use for her. We bought the various paraphernalia along with the phone.
There have been multiple accidental dials when it is around her neck and when she carries it in her handbag, even with the case on. The dial buttons are both sides of the button and it's extremely easy to accidentally bump.
She exceeds the $25 usage frequently due to this even though she hardly us...Read more
es it and it's mainly for the family to call her on when she's at church or prayer meeting. I provided this feedback to KISA 8 months ago and suggested that a lock button be made available, and received a response of 'thanks for the feedback' only. I have now cancelled this account after a year and was served by a young rude customer service representative who talked over me and told me that a lock button would be too complicated for people with dementia, and that they can program a 'push twice' to dial feature. The lock feature as an option (as are available on all phones) would absolutely be useful for people without dementia and not be forced to use it. The issue is the easy accidental dials which are not preventable.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Good concept, Poor Reception
The idea is good but the phone does not pick up reception very well. Kisa tells me this is done purposefully as they have balanced reception and radiation levels....so it has lower radiation than normal phones but pretty poor reception as a result. The phone will be fine if you live somewhere with good reception but my parents are in a nursing home facility and it wouldn't work there. All other phones work there ok. Kisa have agreed to refund so I appreciate that....but I just expected the phone to have normal reception.
Just to add it works perfectly at my house and out and about where reception is strong. But check if your aged care facility has a booster for reception before purchasing this phone.
