Well designed but not effective
It works well for easy tasks, such as whipping cream or egg whites. But on the other hand heavy load such as puree and soup it has some difficulties, it most of the time cannot handle the load and unfortunately the machine stops, it keeps only an small hunming noise and gets hot, I need to turn it off from the walk and wait to use it again. That is an unfortunate.
Purchased in July 2021 at Peter's of Kensington Online store for A$209.00.

I bought another Kitchen Aid Chopper
Along with several others who have posted here I too have had water coming from the chopper top, squealing on using it as well as the food just sticking to the sides. I threw the unit out after reading others had the same issues. I was also concerned about bacteria building up in the liquid from the blender top. The separate stick blender is still just fine. I have however purchased a Kitchen Aid Classic Mini Food Chopper 830ml and have found this is wonderful. Can highly recommend it- it chops beautifully, mixes small quantities -e.g. hummus etc. A great little chopper.

Good but with issues
We bought this when we had our baby 3 years ago. The actual blender part is good and made baby vegetable and meat purées with ease, though I had to replace it once because it was faulty. The plastic attachments are terrible. The tall container cracked on its own without being dropped, the little processor container had the plastic inside it completely erode with the chopping (I hate to think it probably ended up in our food!) and was super noisy to operate. Now it is also getting difficult to assemble the blender as the plastic parts to connect seem to have lost their shape after use. I would not buy this again nor recommend it to family or friends.
Purchased at The Good Guys.

Seems ok UNTIL...
So this works well for smoothing out soups. For making pesto etc using the included container that the blender snaps into - works quite well (not amazing), but it's very loud. By far, the worst aspect of this product and the reason it has prompted my review - the adapter between the included container and the blender (the dark grey lid) CANNOT be cleaned properly without getting water stuck inside. It's SO unhygienic, it basically means you cannot use it. What is shocking is this is so obvious that it's an issue, there is just no way KitchenAid...Read more
didn't know it was an issue and released the product, anyway. That's a truly disgusting way to treat customers who historically value their products. I have lost all faith in this company and won't be buying any more products going forward.Purchased in April 2021 at The Good Guys for A$130.00.

Drive Shaft Failure
I used this item about a dozen times and was very happy with it. However the plastic drive shaft within the blending arm shredded without notice, whilst I was reducing a very small handful of bread to breadcrumbs. This effectively meant that none of the bell blade attachments would work. If a chain is only as strong as its weakest link, a plastic driveshaft cannot be expected to drive metal attachments.

Very Poor Quality Appliance
We’ve had this unit for a few years and like others who have reviewed it, we’ve been very disappointed with an appliance that is from what we thought was a quality brand.
Very early on the mixing bowl lid was retaining water and we never submerged the lid at any stage. There doesn’t seem to be any way to get this water out. The whole unit emits a horrendous squealing sound randomly when blending.
The bowl is a good size for 2 people, however the food immediately sticks to the side and you spend more time with the spatula scraping it down than...Read more
the actual blending should take. The stick attachment lasted only 2 uses after which the plastic connector destroyed itself when crushing some ice. The final straw came this week when the bottom pin of the mixing bowl dislodged some plastic and the blade collapses down and gets wedged and won’t spin. This was our first and will most likely be our last KitchenAid product.Purchased in December 2021 at The Good Guys Physical store for A$215.00.

One of my most loved kitchen accessories
This little guy is a great deal - great brand which has well made products and easy to use customer service if you ever need it. This is a good price on a stick/immersion blender, and it comes with a very handy container with lid to blend/store in. Although you can blend in any container it can be hard to find ones with nice tall sides to help prevent splatter. Mostly important if you're working with something hot or something that might stain!

Disappointed
I was rapped when my daughter bought my hand blender for me for Mother’s Day in 2016, but like so many others I have had similar problems with product quality and performance.
In February 2018 I contacted Enquiries via email to obtain a replacement stainless steel blending arm (end that attaches to bell blades had shredded) and S-blade (damaged by damaged blending arm). Several weeks later I received a response that these parts were on Stop Re-order and that I should look on Ebay or Amazon and try my luck there for replacements.
As my ...Read more
hand blender was less than two years old (still under warranty) at the time I made contact, I am disappointed with this response from a major supplier of kitchen appliances and unsatisfied with the product’s quality and performance. useless and flawed
it was fine with the whole package - then after less than a year the extender arm internals shredded and now nothing works. We didn't use it regularly. I emailed customer service and got no reply. disgraceful

Disappointing
Blending arm has broken after only 18-20 months of use and despite a whole box full of blades and other attachments, KitchenAid have told us the part is not replaceable. We had Jamie Oliver similar item before and thought we were upgrading when we spent the extra money on KitchenAid, in fact we have wasted money on this item. Would not buy again.

Really not very effective at all
I bought this as an upgrade from a triblade which I have used for years. Very disappointed. When blending smoothies or soups, the liquid seeps through the join in the lower silver stick part. I think this is a serious design flaw. Also, instead of truly BLENDING, it tends to just swirl things around in the bowl so fast that it spills out. The swirling results in an ineffective blend, with bits and pieces remaining. I can seldom get things super smooth. Chopper: not effective at all. And yes, I do follow the manufacturers instructions of what can get blended etc.

Not the quality I expected from KitchenAide
I was so excited to receive this as a Mothers Day gift from my children. They were excited to have bought me something I had always wanted. We are all very disappointed with the performance of this product compared to the one (different brand) that I had happily used for many years. None of the attachments are great but the chopper is by far the worst. I could do so much in my old one but this one was - as described in other reviews - hopeless. barely cut an onion. Blades stick or the attachment is badly designed and doesn't snap in - I don't know. Bowl is smaller too. I have packed away this one and happily gone back to using the Sunbeam. Next Mother's Day I am hoping for a new Sunbeam.

Very disappointing
I bought this handblender because it was one of the most expensive and I have a another kitchen aid appliance that I am happy with but I regret buying it because the chopper attachment doesn’t seem to hook on properly to even mix simple soft ingredients and plastic bits come off it. I wish I had bought a different brand and not one that just look good.

Don’t waste your money
This is absolutely crap. It is so over priced and doesn’t work as well as a kitchen aid appliance should. I have used this a handful of times and each time it doesn’t work properly. I thought I would give it another go tonight and all I wanted to do was turn bread into breadcrumbs. It cannot even do that properly. I’m so disappointed. I wouldn’t even sell it cause I If I hate it that much chances are the person who would buy it would too and I just couldn’t do that to someone. This will be hitting the tip cause junk is pretty much what it is

I expected better.
I'm very disappointed with this product, given the brand and the price. It's now 4 months out of warranty and needs replacing but the whole time it's just been uninspiring and an under performer. I was expecting a lot more from a KitchenAid product. It struggles even with making breadcrumbs. I'm in the market for a mixer as well; my experience with this product means I won't be purchasing anything else from KitchenAid. Like a reviewer before me said, the storage container is the only thing to love.

LOVE IT
I do a lot of cooking at home and having this kit on hand is perfect. You can make Pesto, whip cream, eggs, make purees, mince garlic, chop onion. It does the lot! I just chuck it in the dish washer after use and its ready to go again. I also love how it comes in a hard case to keep it organised!

FABULOUS PRODUCT
I purchased this stick blender on the weekend along with KitchenAid food processor. Both products are amazing! I was able to make garlic aoli in less than 2 mins where my old stick blender was not powerful enough and many times the aoli would split. The case to keep everything neat and tidy is fantastic. The chopper worked perfectly! This is a quality product and worth every cent. You cannot beat Kitchen Aid for quality and performance.

DO NOT BUY - Terrible chopper blade design
Purchased to replace my 7 years old Breville stick blender, oh boy do I regret buying it.
First of all the chopper attachment, it's the worst I've ever experienced. As many people already mentioned, it cannot handle even small amount of content without making harsh clicking/grinding noise, I was trying to make a biscuit dough with it, filled the container half way with flour, sugar and butter. But it just wouldn't work, it vibrates harshly and makes a terrible noise without blending anything. As for my old Breville blender, I can fill it alm...Read more
ost to the top it still blends without issue. The chopper container is quite small. Also, the chopper lid has no lock, but after use, it gets stuck, makes it hard to remove. The button is kinda inward makes it hard to press, you need to press down quite hard for it to start, and after a minute of pressing your hand will get tired. This is THE worst kitchen appliance I've ever purchased in my entire life, my Kitchen Aid stand mixer works perfectly so it's almost hard to believe this product it made by Kitchen Aid, the only good thing about this product is the storage box for different attachments and parts that makes everything look neat.Similar opinion? Poor Performance
I'm very disappointed with the performance of the Kitchenaid stick blender The stick blender stirs food more than it blends it leaving lumps instead of a smooth puree, pumpkin soup will still have large lumps of pumpkin and onion after blending for ages. The chopper bowl broke the first time I used it, 1 slice of day old bread that I was trying to turn into breadcrumbs managed to smash the bit of plastic where the blade sits into the bowl. The whisk worked but everything else was useless .I have returned it, I love cooking too much to be frustrated with sub standard equipment.

Hi Lizy, Thank you for your feedback, we will pass this onto the relevant people. Contacting our Customer Service Team for operating tips such as cutting the food into manageable pieces is always helpful. Kind Regards, The KitchenAid Team
I tore the slice of bread into pieces before using the chopper bowl and when I made the soup the pumpkin pieces were small, cooked and soft. The problem is with the quality of the KitchenAid stick blender NOT my technique.

Very poor design and chopper weak
Very disappointed. Speed control is the smooth top of the blender, difficult to get a grip especially for older fingers. Arrows used to line up arm with body very hard to see, definitely need glasses on for those over 50. Chopper attachment the weakest I've ever encountered. Food traps under removable S and multipurpose blades. I know all this after only using it twice, may find out more faults.
