Got my perfect soft boiled egg

published

I wanted soft boiled eggs and it was always a hit or a miss. Love cutting my toast into "soldiers" and dipping into that runny yolk. Yum. this machine gave me that, as I was at first sceptical. Price is great at $15, but the machine should not be left alone, so that when the bell rings, the eggs should be ready and removed straight away. I find it so much quicker than the conventional method. One thing I could not understand is the instruction booklet says the machine turns off when eggs are done, well not this one, first attempt were hard boiled, second attempt was much successful. Model EB6013A.

Purchased in May 2021 at K Mart for A$15.00.

Simple, easy to use and good value!

published

This egg cooker has worked well every time, whether two eggs or seven eggs. I pierce the base of the egg, then cool immediately in ice water and have had the desired result each time. I have read from other reviews that piercing isn't necessary, though haven't tried that yet. Had one cracked egg in over twelve months, simply soaked the metal base in soapy water and it cleaned up well. Great value for money, and no more forgotten eggs on the stove.

Not a good choice

This egg cooker does cooks egg ok but is a pain to put together. The lid just simply doesn't fit and is a pain as it keeps falling off.
I would not recommend this product by any means. I have now gone out and bought a much better egg cooker

It does the job well.

I knocked off one star because the alarm stopped working after the first time I used it, so don't start boiling the eggs and disappear hoping the alarm will let you know when they're ready. Also, I think (I lost the manual ages ago) they tell you to pierce the wrong end of the egg. I pierced the top as instructed for my first attempt (previous egg cookers tell you to pierce the base) and had egg go everywhere inside the cooker and it was a mess. However after that I pierced the base and everything is fine. I use it regularly as I love my curried egg sangers. I would buy another once this one stuffs up. It's certainly value for money.

So easy and fast

published

I love how quick it is. You don’t have to wait for a whole pot of water to boil so you get eggs in 5mins. Don’t bother poking the holes. Works perfectly without doing that. The guide is quite accurate for hard boiled, soft boiled etc... Only had one egg crack in a few weeks of using it and that was when I was poking holes in the eggs.

Love it

I've had one and used it for over a year. I've never had a bad egg. And I don't pierce them either. I've done one and I've done seven. Soft, medium and hard. All have turned out great. This is the best cheap appliance I've used in a long time.

Poor Design - They should think through what can go wrong!

published

Received as a Christmas Present . Used Once. Used as directed but eggs cracked leading to a protein foam that caked to heating element base when the cooking cycle finished. major cleanup required. Foam leaked out from the lid. Poor design - just boil the eggs in a saucepan for the requisite time (like my mum used to do)!

Exploding eggs!

published

I used this product EXACTLY as instructed. Three of the four eggs exploded making a dreadful mess of the machine. I asked somebody else to try it in case I did something wrong and again the majority of eggs exploded. I will be taking it back to Kmart for a refund. The eggs were fresh and pierced as instructed and pierced side up with recommended water level.

Cheap, but not practical.

published

First things first, it's pretty cheap. But the problem is after a few uses it will get messy and water comes out of the top and sides of it and makes a mess.
