Poor service on faulty goods
The electrician discovered that the wall controller was faulty after the fan was installed. In order to save the cost of recalling the electrician I had him replace the faulty part at my cost. Lighting Illusions refunded me a small amount for the part which was obviously far less than the part plus installation.
I have since contacted consumer affairs and the supplier does have a responsibility to rectify the installation, and despite the attempts to duck shove onto the manufacturer, I was assured that, under consumer law, it is the responsibility of the supplier to deal with such issues.

Amazing service
The team at Lighting Illusions provided amazing service well after the fact. Unbelievably helpful with a warranty query well after I have initially made my purchase and were able to provide all the details I needed. Absolutely could not fault them. Will certainly be shopping with them again.

With the world buying on-line - i would of normally done the same -however Nick and the team at NorthLakes Lighting Illusion Store great customer service is second to none. Nick worked with us to help guide through the different products. The exceptional level of support we received. As a couple of electicial engineers (we understand if someone is telling us lies) and we found Nick awesome. We were very happy with the products and price. FANtastic to Deal With
I purchased a ceiling fan from them online however upon ordering, we learned that we actually could not use it. The customer service from Lighting Illusions during the returns process was fantastic. Whilst I can't comment on the quality of the product - I would be more than happy to deal with them again due to their now uncommon customer service levels :)

The best lighting store in Brisbane
I have visited numerous lighting stores in Brisbane, the Gold Coast and the Sunshine Coast looking for light fittings for my new house. No-one had the range of fittings on display as Lighting Illusions at MacGregor, and it is important to be able to see the size of light fittings before deciding to buy them. I have always had helpful staff to deal with, especially Leanne, who goes out of her way to try to provide you with exactly what you want. It has been refreshing that the store have been prepared to change some of my fittings and bulbs when I have changed my mind. Light fittings can be very expensive and the staff at the MacGregor store have ensured that I have been happy with the fittings purchased.

Excellent service from the MJ
I am slowly renovating the lighting throughout my home and have found the advise and customer service I have received from MJ at The Valley store in Brisbane has been outstanding. Her patience with me continuedly changing my mind has been really appreciated. Highly recommend this store and MJ in particular.

EXCELLENT Customer Service!!
Seriously, I have a hospitality background and I know great customer service. Tom from the online department was awesome for the following reasons: I had to return an item which was purchased 6 months ago. Tom sent a return to sender label (no cost to me)via email the same day I made initial contact. My replacement item arrived via express mail within a few days. I was updated daily on the status of my order. Great communication and the ease of dealing with a returned item made for an excellent customer experience. Tom maybe you should be a mentor/trainer your fellow work mates! Great job and thank you again! I will be back!

Poor customer service
My review is focused on individuals working at the McGregor store who had no interest in serving myself and a couple other customers including a poor lady that desperately needed to use a toilet. She kept trying to get the attention of one of the staff, who simply just ignored her and walked away.
Sales staff were Literally a couple meters away from those waiting to be served, making no effort to say good day, no “may I help you” or any form of contact.

It is a shame as we probably could have avoided this entire mess! We don't try to do anything silently, and in fact I am glad you were able to take advantage of our 30 day returns policy to return a product you decided not to keep. Our new bathroom fan/heater/light needed a replacement part. After a call to customer service a new part arrived safely and in a timely manner - well packaged so that it would not break. Emails kept us up to date with progress of our initial order and of the replacement part. Will use Lighting Illusions again.

Excellent product and customer service
Purchased two lights from them and due to the reno's didnt open the packaging for 6 months, when the time came to install they looked great but there was a small breakage with with one shade. Left a message and Tom got straight back to me. He sourced the replacement and it arrived perfectly packaged, Extremely happy with their service. Will buy again.

Would you please advise what brand of LED downlight (10W-25W approximately) is the most reliable - all the reviews of brands I've managed to find give pretty much all brands a very low rating for reliability and actual warranty experience - price to me is not the most important consideration.
Being dim-able is important.

We were pretty careful in selecting local and international suppliers for our products so all of them will be trustworthy, however, like all things, with downlights "you get what you pay for". All products will have some small percentage of failure rate but any faults typically show themselves within the first couple of years (and are covered under a replacement warranty).

From our experience, there is generally less than a 1% failure rate on any given product we stock (this differs across product categories - the Illuminati downlights sport a >0.5%!). In the unlikely event you do experience a manufacturing fault, as per your consumer rights, you can get in touch with us directly to sort this out. This being said, these downlights are made with an easy to use flex-and-plug, so if something does happen it's an easy swap, please make sure your electrician is installing power points in the ceiling if they aren't there already as this will save a lot of future pain!

Hi Dave,
I recently placed an order for 8 ceiling fans with lights and remotes. I paid in full for the products of almost $1500 which by price was ok but not terrific and only arrived at this after numerous emails back and forth. They failed to inform the fans I was after were not in stock but gladly took my money??? It is now going to be 2 weeks until I receive the fans for which I may not have a long time to use until maybe next year. Terrible service and rude emails after my complaint.
I will spend the other large amount of money somewhere else for the next order of fans and lights.

products do fail, which is why all our products come with consumer warranties for peace of mind. Unfortunately, we were not made aware of the fault with your product until after you got your electrician to replace it. We are always here to help our customers in anyway we can. Had you have contacted us prior we would have been able to facilitate a warranty job and it would not have cost you anything, or we could have sent you a replacement part at no charge. We take full responsibility for the products we sell however we need to be given the opportunity to repair, refund or replace the faulty product. As you only called us after you had got your electrician to replace the faulty part we were limited in how we could help, so we did what we saw was the next best thing and gave you a complete refund for the faulty wall controller. Which, when we spoke to you on the phone you seemed to be happy with, we then promptly processed the refund for you. Again, sorry that this has caused you distress and ultimately we are just glad to hear your fan is now working well.
