Liqui-Moly Petrol Engine Intake Decarb
Awesome Result
My wife's 1990 Daimler Fuel code error message was always coming on, her car stalled all the time while waiting at the lights we asked our well known Jaguar mechanic why it was doing it it was intermittent over a 6 year period he just said it was an old car ( I usually do things myself but due to my poor health not this time then I got better) I remember using similar products years ago on old carburetor engines so I thought why not try this (Mechanics get lazy) I followed the instructions to the letter results were instant 1/no more Fuel Fail ...

I think things have improved.
I did this the other day on my Honda crv 2002, with 265000km on the clock. I followed the instructions but also went a step further by taking the plugs out and sprayed directly into the pots as well as through the air intake. After waiting the required time (and a bit more for luck) I turned the engine over a few times with the plugs out, just to be sure l didn't hydro lock it. It took a lot of cranking to get going, so make sure your battery is good. It smoked a lot, a light brown colour for a few minutes. The engine was pinging before but l...
Read more think that since l did this, it is a little less and it does seem to breathe and run better. I will do the process again in 1000km and submit another review then with the results fuel consumption etc. I think it's worth doing as it's pretty cheap at under $30.- 2 reviews

Simple To Use, Great Results.
Removed air tubing from throttle body and inserted the provided snake into the intake plenum. Following the directions I applied a thorough coating of product to the intake body. It is a good idea to prepare a rag to soak up any excess product that may pool at the throttle body opening.
After waiting the prescribed three minutes started the engine. Took a number of starts to get going. If anyone is familiar with the children's movie Bedknobs and Broomsticks, I would best describe what happened next as like the character, Miss Price's, motorc...
Read moreycle. A grumbling, puffing and belching of copious grey and white smoke. Maintained revs fairly high until engine smoothed out. Much quieter. Driving noticed a slightly improved power output and I could feel acceleration now taking less effort from motor, easier maintaining speed on incline in the higher gears, and a new found quietness from the motor overall. While this is perhaps the more costly product of its kind in the Australian market I would highly recommend it, particularly on a higher mileage vehicle for a good clean of the intake and valves, and greater power and efficiency from engine combustion.Questions & Answers
Where does all the excess carbon go? I'm not that mechanical and am wondering how all that crap gets out of the engine. Wouldn't it clog up injectors and other things regards Cyril
Cyril, I am not a mechanic either, or an environmentalist as such. But the carbon deposits that are released cant clog injectors as the carbon is not in the fuel line, being delivered into the injecto...
Read morers. It is in the intake manifold, combustion chamber and exhaust manifold area. Carbon in and before the combustion chamber would have to [must] be blown out via the exhaust valves and exhaust system - into the atmosphere. From an environmental point of view would be like planting a forest as sequestrating CO2 then burning it down and releasing all the CO into the atmosphere. A more enviro friendly option would be to keep the carbon deposits as solids and manually clean it out I suppose.

Perhaps l was premature in my first review. After driving a few hundred km, it was pretty clear that it had really made no difference. Still had the engine pinging. It's probably worth a try as it cou...
Read moreld be a cheap fix but l think my engine was just a bit too worn and really needed a physical de carbon.
