Excellent
I've had this machine for a few years. Although I don't pull it out often enough (not a fan of washing up food processor parts - no matter what brand). Still works great as it did on first day and I think it will still be into the future.
I bought the juicer attachment which works well but can't comment on capacity compared to an independent juicer. Cleaning that attachment requires scrubbing out the fibres.
I see there hasn't been upgrades which I think shows its still a fantastic machine.

Built to last
I received my Magimix for Christmas and after using it for about a month I found I should have purchased the smaller 3200XL. It is solidly built and I expect it to last a long time.
It makes short work of slicing onions etc.I am still finding my way with the Magimix and so far it's a very good choice
It's built solidly and looks good
I find when i'm using the small bowl the small amounts of food sprays into the other bowls so I still have to clean all of them

Excellent product exactly what I expected
We Purchased a Magimix 4200XL about 3 weeks ago and it has been nothing short of sensational.
This unit it very powerful so you don't need to pulse much to get a finer texture.
Things I have made so far are below.
Tartare sauce I put in capers, onion, gerkin together and pulsed for not even 10 seconds and just mixed quickly in to some creamy european mayonaise, beautiful.
I made a Mango salsa with chopped tomatoes and mango with corriander and lime added.
I chop fruit slices everyday for our lunches, pears, apples slice up great with the 4mm disc, would like to purchase the 6mm disc to try soon. ...Read more
Makes brilliant salads with nice crisp slices of cucumber, red spanish onion, grated carrot on either grater disc which comes out great.Lettuce I shred on the 4mm disc and it comes out nice and crispy. Just received the french fry and dicing kit today and used it for making chips, easy to push the potato's through to make french fries and this kit is also a dicer kit that can dice vegies cubed for use in soups. Yet to make dough in the machine but I am looking forward to it. I have also done my own chicken burgers, I threw 3 breast fillets in and it minced them up in no time with no strain on the motor, breezed through it and I added some green and red capcicum with herbs came out a treat. Also made burgers with beef mince, eggs, herbs, garlic and spices, the mince was chopped very fine and even through out. Pistachio and herb crust for a rack of lamb. This was a pricey unit and we were a little hesitant but after using it and especially knowing it has a 30 year warranty on the motor we couldn't go past it,also the quality is up there at the highest level being made in France and the attachments are made to last. We did a bucket load of research and watched a heap of review videos on different processors and settled on this one. Key features that stood out for us are below. Very powerful motor (with 30 year warranty) Strong bowls made of aviation grade plastic Comes with 3 bowls which is very handy when you want to make a dip in the small bowl and then you can just use the others to make salad and chop up vegetables without having to wash the same bowl after each use. Blades are very well made and not flimsy made in china type material. Made in France (Other processors seem to be made in China or assembled in USA with Asian made parts) MAGIMIX are one of the pioneers of food processors so they know what they are doing and how to design a product. Auto button is great (senses what you have put in and adjusts power according to weight of ingredients. For eg: I put in fresh bread crusts and it just cut them up fast but gently and not to fine so I could make nice crispy chicken schnitzels. We are so happy with our purchase and are now considering a Magimix blender for smoothies even though there is a smoothie attachment for this for processor but we want the blender for speed more than anything in the morning for green juice and in the afternoon before working out. 3 bowls where other brands only have 2, very strong attachments, 30 year motor warranty,AUTO button Nothing2 comments

Lexan (the material that the bowls are made from) contains BPA, please change it!
I really want to buy one of these, I'm sure that they are wonderful but magimix has informed me that the bowls contain BPA. Apparently they are working to develop a BPA free one, hurry up please! Would love to buy one! Would love it if bowl was glass or stainless steel
Wonderful processor, quiet, reliable, 30 year warranty, all those fantastic accessories!
Contains BPA, would love it if they could produce a BPA free one, even better would be stainless steel or glass

Sturdy machine that's built to last
This was purchased as an upgrade from my old food processor, which was still working but at 12 years old but starting to struggle. I spent a lot of time reviewing various products and while I kept coming back to the Magimix I was hesitant about the price, however an end of financial year sale at Everten finally hit the right note and I'm so glad I did. Although a heavy machine it's quite compact in bench space and I find the weight a pro as I make a lot of pastry, my old machine would sometimes bounce around a bit. It comes with a good varie...Read more
ty of attachments to get you started and I love the three bowl sizes, which means I not only don't need the micro-processor anymore, I also don't have to wash the bowl between different stages if I plan correctly. The recent increase to a 30 year warranty on the motor was a great incentive as well. This machine doesn't have a speed dial as it automatically detects the speed needed, so far that's worked well enough for me and there's always the pulse if you're not sure. Good warranty on a sturdy machine that I don't expect to replace anytime soon. Nothing to speak of.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Takes cooking to another level!
We have never had a food processor or anything similar before, and the 4200XL allows us to make plenty of dishes that we wouldn't have considered before. It is all fairly easy and quick to do. So far we have tried cupcakes, curry sauces, brioche, bread, slicing, grating; and everything has worked well.
It can be time consuming and fiddly to clean up, especially if food gets up through the bottom of the blade or dough hook, so make sure you have those attachments pushed right down to the bottom of the bowl before you start.
Great to use, versatile
Not much, a bit time consuming to clean

Best kitchen purchase ever!
I am in love with this machine. I bought it almost a year ago to replace a really poor old Breville & use it on average once a day (some days I don't use it, others I'll use it two or three times for different things). It makes meal preparation incredibly quick: chopping, grating, slicing, julienning in seconds. Consequently I have been able to significantly broaden my repertoire of mid-week meals when I'm in a rush to get dinner on the table. I use it to mince fresh meat in seconds; (the instructions say to partially freeze the meat but I find...Read more
it works well on fresh meat). It is fantastic for things like making chocolate-hazelnut spread which would be impossible without a food processor to chop the hazelnuts finely enough to turn them into butter. I can whip up paw-paw bread in seconds & it turns out much better than using my stand-mixer to cream the butter, sugar, eggs. Mine came with a bonus juicer which makes lovely fresh juice but is also great for straining the seeds out of cooked tomatoes to make tomato sauce as it comes with a scraper for soft fruits & a shallow feeder bowl for cooked fruits. Most of what you would want to do you can do with the standard attachments but I have also bought the creative disc set, the citrus juicer, the parmesan/chocolate grating disc & the dicing kit, all of which I love. I often use the dicing kit just to make chips or carrot sticks in which case you're not actually turning the machine on but it is a handy, time-saving accessory. The optional accessories aren't cheap but they're not ridiculously expensive either, especially if you wait for sales (which I did). The three bowls are handy although I most often use the largest, partly because if you use any of the smaller bowls you will need to wash the larger ones they sit inside as something is bound to flick over. The 4200XL is large enough for my family of six people. If I am pureeing soup I do need to do it in two batches but would need to do that even if I had the next model up. When mixing liquids the blender attachment is very handy as it helps seal the lid so you don't get the splash & overflow problem you get with most food processors. The only time I've ever thought the next size up would be good is when I've made Jamie Oliver's pumpkin muffins as the quantity almost overflows the largest bowl but I've made them a few times now & this size does (just) cope. I have this in red & must say the snazzy colour is a nice bonus. :) I just wish I had a big enough kitchen to keep it out on show! The machine is heavy to lift in & out of a cupboard but not excessively so. All in all, this is definitely the best kitchen appliance I've bought. Absolutely everything! Especially super quick meal preparation.2 comments
Penny which model do you have? Do you think it makes cakes well and creams butter and sugar well? Would I need to buy a Kitchen aid mixer or Kenwood mixer if I have a Magimix? Elly

t was OK, but I now have a KitchenAid & I do think that is better for cakes & pasta dough. Food processors have a tendency to cause cracking on the top of cakes. Of course if you always ice them, that may not be of concern for you.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Love this gadget ! A very good investment
We had been eyeing off processors for ages and then after watching Donna Hay make her cheesecake on Masterchef we decided we could no longer wait!
I did all the research, read all the reviews and eventually settled on the Magimix. We did consider the Kitchenaid as well but after getting a demo on both in a kitchen store, we decided the Magimix was a more solidly built unit.
We have made cheesecake, blitzed leftovers to feed the dogs, chopped vegies for soups. It obliterates a 1kg block of cheese in less than 30 seconds !! For the conveni...Read more
ence of not having to grate cheese it was worth the cost. It will slice up 5 potatoes in a few seconds - makes it easy to do a quick potato bake now (topped with the grated cheese !) ! Im glad we got the bigger size (we were considering the 3200). For all the ingredients in the Donna Hay classic baked cheesecake... its the perfect size! Its quiet and the fact that it inspires my boyfriend to get in the kitchen to cook is also a bonus! looks good enough to leave on the bench permanently, awesome at grating cheese, love all the many attachments (and the fact that they come in their own container) it was expensive - but then.. you get what you pay for! Id rather spend more money and only have to buy the 1 gadget !Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Achieved way more than expectations
After much research, we decided on the Magimix 4200XL as our new food processor to replace a stick blender with attachments. It is so useful that we took it away on our holidays, so we could keep making all the dishes we love! It is a good size for the family, plus there's a mini bowl for small amounts such as when making a cup of bread crumbs or an avocado dip. The grating and slicing blades & bowl make catering jobs super quick. The pastry blade works so well too.
Now I love cooking Jamie Oliver's 30 Minute meals with this appliance. Bake...Read more
d cheesecakes are so simple now. Meatballs are so easy, as you can use the one bowl to chop the onion and herbs and then mix in the meat, ready to ball up. Yes it is expensive but with a 10-year guarantee, we're pretty confident. Versatile, stylish when left on the bench, great size for the family. It generates a lot of washing up, but that is best done asap with a rinse and dry, unless fat is used, when some detergent is needed.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Sits on my bench all the time
Very happy with this machine. i do a lot of cooking and have this sitting on my benchtop all the time. it chops easily, grates cheese, chocolate, even palm sugar blocks - easily. it whips cream, cream cheese etc. i can make my own spaghetti dough and my children made chips. found it best to rinse immediately then i can use again when needed.
strangely enough, there's a couple of small things it won't do (which my little oscar did well for the last 20yrs) - chop up peppercorns, chop fresh rosemary. oh well, can't have it all i suppose!

I purchased this after having been through 3 well known brands. I like to make a lot of spice rubs, curries, my own crumbs and use a food processor quite a lot. The other brands I had worn out previously just didn't do the job very well either. This processor chops everything evenly and you don't end up with odd lumps. It will even puree 2 cloves of garlic. I like that it has 3 different sized bowls and especially the specific case for the other blades and attachments as it keeps them all together neatly. Its quiet too compared to other b...Read more
rands. When I received my food processor it had a few scratches on the base, I contacted the online store I purchased it from and they sent a Magimix Rep out to my house within a couple of days, she replaced the item immediately and even gave me a run through on how to use it. The scratches were just a packing issue with stainless steel and it will probably get scuff marks on it as it gets used however as I paid for a new item I wanted it to look like a new item at least to begin with. I am very happy with it and believe it will last my life time and probably be able to passed onto my kids. The other thing I love is that you can always buy the parts - replacement bowls, blades etc. Other brands change the style so fast and if you do ever need to get a replacement part its either not available or outweighs the cost of the new item so you end up buying a new one. Reliable, sturdy, strong, quiet for a food processor Wish it came in different colours or the option of not having stainless steel as this will mark easilySimilar opinion? The best thing I've ever bought for the kitchen
This is an awesome machine. I was worried about the cost, but now I have it I really think it's worth it. You feel like you're using a Rolls Royce of machines instead of a holden. LOL. Lots of parts, once you're familiar with it is very easy to use. Does everything. It is equal in my kitchen to my beloved Kitchenaid. I've seriously used it nearly every day since got it.
Does so many things, lovely to use, feels like quality, does things with such ease
Is quite heavy & tricky to store extra attachments - bought extras that don't fit in the provided storage box ALL GOOD THOUGH really

OK
From what I've read of other reviews, it seems the location they are now manufactured might have something to do with the quality of these machines. Perhaps they should have a massive price reduction to go with it... definitely didn't get what I paid for in this machine. I paid for the best and got a less than acceptable product.
Can only hope that once it's repaired it will be the machine I expect and that others rave about!
For the little I've got to use my machine, it's fantastic. I can see it's going to be a huge time saver.
Broke down after only 2 uses. Apparently a 'known issue' that is easily fixed. For the cost of these machines, there shouldn't be ANY issues!

I have had this machine for just over 1 week and have made baby food, smoothies, grated cheese, sliced onions (GREAT for French onion soup!) pureed garlic with this machine and it is fantastic. I cannot wait to make breadcrumbs and pastry dough with it. So far I am extremely happy with its performance. I decided on this machine after doing A LOT of research online. I also considered the Cuisinart and the KitchenAid food processors, but in the end decided on the Magimix because it is still made in France by the original manufacturers so I think ...Read more
it will last the distance, esp compared to some of the cheaper machines out there, many of which apparently burn out within a few years. Also I think it is a sexier machine and this is important as I keep it on my kitchen benchtop! Apparently KitchenAids Food processors used to be made in the USA until 3 yrs ago when manufacturing was changed to China (their mixers are still made in USA) and Cuisinarts are made in China too. I think all three models offer a 10-12 year warranty on the motor though. I can’t believe I lived without a food processor for so long. My husband has had a few chuckles as me since I got it a week ago, as he has caught me standing back, admiring the machine in the kitchen and he finds it amusing how happy I am when I am using it. But when you can chop 10 onions for French onion soup in 30 seconds, that has to put a smile on your face! I have to say I am in love with this machine! Great design, very powerful and quiet. Makes cooking a breeze, cuts down prep time. I can now make pastry dough quickly and easily...and French onion soup in an instant! Sometimes if you fill the contents of the inner bowls too much, then there can be some overspill into the top rims of the outerbowls. But it's easy enough to clean with a sponge if this happens. Also if food gets caught inside the plastic part of the blades which inserts onto the centre of the machine, it can be a little hard to clean - you probably need to use a tiny bottle brush to clean up there effectively.Similar opinion? I got this for Xmas from my parents. I have used it twice so far to make cheesecake. The motor is very powerful and had no problems obliterating half a block of chocolate into tiny shavings for my cheescake topping.
There is no speed settings, just On, Off and Pulse as apparently the motor will adjust for how much strength it needs.
There are many attachments which I can see becoming very useful. Namely the slicing and grating disks and the dough hook. I have the XL model which comes with an extra wide feed tube for those bigger veggies. ...Read more
Inside it is stacked the smaller feed tube that also doubles as a measuring cup. Very handy. The three bowls stack inside each other too. The main bowl is used for the dough hook, egg whisk and large blade. The midi bowl fits the grating and slicing attachments and inside that again is the mini bowl with a mini blade for smaller quantities of things. Eg for making dip or chopping nuts and herbs. As noted above, make sure you use the mini bowl first if you need it in a recipe. The way the bowls stack, the little one inside the midi means there is no separate lid for the smallest bowl and your ingredients can sometimes whirl over into the midi. This is my only gripe and its really not that big a deal. It also comes with a special box to put your blades in which is REALLY great - no slicing your fingers on them when looking for them and they are nicely protected and wont get blunt.Similar opinion? Its great but watch out the blades are razor sharp. I use it most days for soup, or even to chop up scraps for the fussy chooks. I have to take so much care as when rinsing it I often slice my fingers. Don't let kids get to it.
Considering the size of it's motor it is quiet.
Efficient.
I like the large capacity bowl for liquids. My old Breville kitchen Whizz only had a 500ml liquid capacity. At least we can now make smoothies without it spilling out of the bowl.

I love this food processor! I've been on the look out for a while and after doing a heap of research I settled on the Magimix. Realy well made everything is very solid. Blades are incredibly sharp, so watch your fingers! Easy to clean, but rinse it straight away to help with this.
Expensive but you get what you pay for :)
The storage box for the blades is also very handy
Powerful, resonably quiet, massive amount of functions! Great warranty, the extra large feeding tube is brilliant for bigger things. Great quality and easy to clean
Very heavy (its very well made), some of the blades are hard to fully clean in the corners, I've been using a tiny piping tip brush.

Hi there, I am trying to choose between buying the Magimix 5200XL Food Processor or the next model down which I believe is the 4200 XL? I am wanting to be able t0 grind nuts to make nut milks with it among other things. Will either of models do the job? I notice the the 5200 model has a stronger motor than the 4200. Thanks

Magimix A.Magimix
Hi MRP, thanks for your query. With nut milk, it is possible to make this in both the 5200XL or 4200XL depending on the quantity you require. The result will be the same in both processors. Generally for a finer result, a blender may be more suitable. You can see our blenders here: https://www.magimixau.com.au/products.php?rangetype=BLE
