I need to buy my two children new mattresses and would like to know if the cool gel is suitable for use in a cold climate? We sometimes get in the minus temps at night. Sorry if this is a silly question, I’m just not familiar with cool gel in mattresses. Thank you
1 answer
Ryan M.Marce Blanc
Hi Bec,
Standard memory foam typically retains heat for longer than standard foams. Hence they developed CoolGEL memory foam to improve the properties of heat transfer to stop the overheating feeling sometimes experienced in hotter months.
So it is not that it is going to cool you down so much that it will not retain heat more than a standard foam to potentially make you overheat in summer months.

Just wondering if medium firm is more towards firm or medium? How do we scale the firmness of the medium firm mattress? We want to make sure the mattress is Moreno on the firm side
1 answer
Ryan M.Marce Blanc
I'm sorry, the best I can advise is, it is a 'Medium-Firm' between a medium and a firm. You can not be that precise with giving this determination, as firmness is also subjective between users. Base on testing 50+ popular mattress brands in stores. This is a 'Medium-Firm' in comparison to what they determine as Soft, Medium or Firm.
I hope this helps, it is an extremely rare event that we get a customer stating it is harder/softer than preferred, hence it is an accurate 'Medium/Firm' as to what the majority of the population would feel it should be.
I hope this helps :-)

Can you tell me the difference between the two mattresses 31cm and 34 cms?
Which one would you recommend for back pain?
1 answer
Ryan M.Marce Blanc
My apologies for the delay.
The CoolGEL contains just CoolGEL memory foam where the other contains Memory & Latex. The thickness of these two layers however is thinner than the CoolGEL and hence you have 31cm for the Memory & Latex VS 34cm for the CoolGEL.
I highly recommend however selecting the mattress you prefer based on the firmness rating you like over other features. This firmness difference is achieved by using different pocket springs and also top layer support foams.
The CoolGEL is 'Medium' and you have the 'Soft-Medium' and 'Medium-Firm' options in the Memory & Latex type.

I’m just trying to work out where to buy this as there appears to be two options, eBay with free delivery and brand warehouse with a $77 delivery for a single mattress. Can you please confirm as we want to place an order ASAP. I noted only the medium/firm is available is this suitable for a young child and where are the options on the thickness? Cheers Jase

I bought a Eva mattress and although it very good I wish it was just a bit softer. I will probably send it back. Do you think the cool gel Marce Blanc mattress be a bit softer than the Eva queen that I currently have?
Thanks
1 answer
Ryan M.Marce Blanc
I'm sorry, I can't answer that as we have never tried an Eva mattress before.
I can only recommend to check the reviews to see what others have said about their mattresses.
The CoolGEL is a 'Medium' rating and is very thick and in my opinion, is the perfect combination of plush feeling with support.
If you with to have something thinner, we also have the 31cm available.
* Please note, the eBay store is closed until the 14th of January, 2022. Please check back on the 14th to make your purchase.

Hi, I am having trouble deciding whether to get the 34cm CoolGel Medium Mattress or the 30cm Medium-Firm Mattress. Do they both have memory-foam and latex? What is the purpose/benefits of the two in a mattress? I'm mainly a side sleeper sometimes on my back. My partner is the same, we only share the bed a couple times a week. I weigh 70kgs and he's 95kgs. We both move a lot in our sleep. He heats up and sweat often in his sleep, I also heat up just not as bad. I have very bad neck pains running down to my shoulders and middle-lower back pain. We also sometines sit in bed with bed tables while leaning on the headboard for a few hourw. So I definitely need a bed that can support partner disturbance when needed but also quite plush yet still supporting.. and of course a mattress with some longevity to it that won't sag. Please help! I've been going through all your reviews and Q/A however it has been making the decision even harder.

Hi Tina,
My apologies for the delay.
Just to summarise, you have 3 options... The 31cm version has Latex & Memory Foam and comes in the firmness options 'Soft-Medium' and 'Medium-Firm'.
The 34cm CoolGEL model, only comes in ‘Medium’, but has a thick Memory Foam layer internally.
For side sleepers, it is generally recommended to choose a Soft-Medium as it will confirm more to your hips and shoulders for a more comfortable sleep.
However, it is also recommended for back pain to be selecting a ‘Medium-Firm’.
As you have a mix of these two needs, a case can be made that you should pick in the middle and get the ‘Medium’ CoolGEL model. This also assists with your issue of not wanting a mattress that heats up (although the 31cm also does not heat up despite not having the CoolGEL memory foam type).
I hope this helps.

Can you use an electric blanket on the coolgel mattress?
Gets very cold in winter here.
2 answers
I have just the plain one which is the similar to any other mattress, You better contact the Marce staff, regarding the cool Gel, it seems to defeat the purpose of an electric B on top of it. I don’t think it will create enough heat to damage it, may take sleep slightly more electricity to warm up and probable once warm keeps the warmth for longer. Good Q, I like to know as well, thinking bout getting the Gel later on.
Ryan M.Marce Blanc
Yes, absolutely, there is no problem at all using an electric blanket on any of the Marce Blanc mattresses.

Hi
I purchased a 34cm Marc Blanco cool gel mattress and a new slat bed just over 4 months ago
Every night I felt like I was sleeping on the side of a hill and needed to hold on to stop myself rolling off
I recently took the slats off the bed base and replaced with flat boards and now I feel like the mattress dips where I am laying and when I move the dip stays so I feel like I am in a hole
Today I resorted to going back to my old mattress because I can't deal with it any longer
Any recommendations or ideas on how I can alleviate these issues would be appreciated
Very unhappy right now
Thanks
Joy

Ryan M.Marce Blanc
Hi Giggii,
When opening the mattress, you need to follow the instruction leaflet details which advise to pull up on the edge cord of the mattress to enable the pillow top layers to expand into the edges and 'square off'. Due to the machine compression and rolling of the mattress for transport, the edges do curve in a little on opening, but is resolved when pulling this cord out to allow the pillow top layers space to expand into to square this edge off again. Normally this is not an issue can you please contact [email protected] with any photos so we can be of more assistance.

Hi. Where is the most suitable place to buy your mattresses? Is brand.warehouse.australia the official supplier of your mattresses? also, can you give me some advice on what is the best all-round option for a short term rental, something that should suit all people - medium-firm or soft-medium? Thanks, Gavin.

Ebay Store, I remember getting onto their website and when you click onto purchase it will take you to ebay. I bought 2 medium firms for my kids, 9 and 13 year olds and they both loved it not too soft, not too hard. The support feels more like our expensive Medium mattress., and this is brand new, It will be possibly softer when you break it in.

Hi Gavin,
Yes - please purchase on eBay at the link below...
The most popular are the CoolGEL which is a 'Medium' or the Memory & Latex in the 'Medium-Firm'.

Thank you team. I weigh 50kg and do not want a firm (bought an IKEA medium- firm mattress, which was way too firm) or very soft mattress. Just wondering if this soft - medium given it has foam will sag/have sinking feeling.

Ryan M.Marce Blanc
Hi Kay,
Everyone is different in their view of what is too firm or too soft, however at 50kg, the Soft-Medium should not be too soft. You can always meet in the middle and order a 34cm (CoolGEL) in the 'Medium'. This is a very popular choice.

Hi there - are Marce Blanc mattresses suitable for slat based beds? And how does soft - medium compare in firmness to medium beds made here locally?
1 answer
Ryan M.Marce Blanc
Yes - the Marce Blanc mattress is suitable for all known bed bases.
I can't comment I'm sorry on a firmness comparison to a local bed. These mattresses have been compared with 10 of the most popular brands, comparing 50+ varieties to classify these mattress firmness ratings so they they are correct.
Please view the product review comments for some guidance on firmness, or please let me know if you have any further questions on what you like so I can give a recommendation based on your personal preferences.
* Note, the Medium-Firm is the most popular firmness rating.
