Is $6,400 a typo? If that's the price it's the deal if the century! If the price is $16,400 it's a little high.

Was wondering if anyone has had issues with the MZ Connect system? I have a Mazda 3 Hatch BM MY2015 SP 25 Astina. Just under a year of getting it new, the " your over the speed limit" woman started going silent, yet you could tell that she was trying as the right ( driver) side speaker would be off, with music still coming through the left ( passenger) speaker. And this would happen more so if apps like Pandora were active. I've had one fix, that didn't fix it. There is another one due in a few weeks but there must be more than one driver having this issue!

I haven't had any major problems, I just use the music connected to an iPod & the navigation, it has crashed a few times but generally works well.

Yes I had this problem. It started when I had a service in October 2016. Just had another service and it has stopped doing it thanks to them updating softare or just reinstalling whatever version is currently out. Hope this helps :)

Hey I have a Mazda 3 sp23 2005 model. Mine has 230,000kms on it though. We used to live out on a farm and the track was 1km long, ever since living out there I I have a loud banging noise in the front end (I think) and not one mechanic that has looked at it knows what it could be, we have replaced all the shockers in it twice and still no luck! Overall a really good car to purchase. Perfect car for city driving but not for rough tracks lol!! I have been really happy with my Mazda and besides that one thing cannot fault it. We have since had a baby and I do find there isn't much room at all for the passenger with a rear facing car seat and my pram take up virtually the whole boot!!

I have a June 2015 BM Neo sedan and as of today the rear passenger seatbeat latch will not accept the seatbelt buckle. The odd thing is that it is showing that as it is done up on the dashboard light when in fact it can't be done up. This is concerning as we normally use the dashboard indicator lights to as a guide to see if the children have buckled up correctly. Has anyone else experienced this issue with their seatbelts in their Mazda 3?

No never experienced - although I have a much older model and I don't think the passenger seats belts trigger the belt warning on the dash. You're car is near new - get the dealer to sort it out under warranty.

scott.hatton

I might be assuming too much.. but have you tried a different latch? I remember the middle seat belt latch won't accept the side seatbelt buckles and vice versa on our Mazda3. A couple of times after putting the rear seat down the latches got crossed over.

I have a Mazda 3 Neo MY2012 54,000kms. A transmission mount is worn & making a rattle noise. Been told by the dealer this is a wear & tear issue so not covered by warranty. Caused from driving on bumpy roads but how bumpy is bumpy? All roads I drive on are bitumen. Should I be taking this further? Not even my brakes or tyres have worn out yet, seems strange a transmission mount has.

Get an expert opinion from your motoring association near you. It seems that Mazda & it's dealers regularly try to wiggle out of their warranty responsibilities. Next time we know to stay clear of Mazdas. I have written to Mazda Japan about my problem with my car and still awaiting reply, perhaps you can do the same.

I agree. I would argue and push the issue with a mazda dealer.

Looking at purchasing a mazda 3 2005 maxxx sport manual with 132kms. any major issues to be aware of? Nervous as stung bad with purchase of a ve commodore 8 mths ago. Commodore is too big. Currently do 4 hr country driving twice a month...then simply running around. Debating on changing. Thoughts?

2 answers

We actually swapped from a v6 commodore to our Mazda 3. The commodore was too big and thirsty. The Mazda definitely sorts that out.

Hi. Just remember the car is 10 yrs old,so it's probably not going to be perfect. Check and make sure all big ticket items Re service were done at the 100k. Eg timing belt and clutches as they cost a grand it so each. You will live the fuel economy, but may miss the quicker pick up Re over taking on long trips. They have better zip around town. Good luck.

That sounds like the hinges / perhaps you could try putting some lubrication on it or try taking the car to a Mazda Australia workshop

Or you could try putting a quality lock in there possibly by a quality trustworthy honest and reliable locksmith

Or it could be a simple problem as a loose attachments and just need some tightening

some of people have mentioned about the noisiness and the suspension problem. I suggest that to replace the original tyres to the other better tyres (I've got bridgestone re002, no noisiness and very stable on the road, although it's quite pricey to get the tyres, however It's for long term use, so it's worth to replace it.) to relief 80% of those mentioned problems.

And it's very fuel economy, I used to drive from dandenong to city on fwy, and it's usually stay on 6L/100km.

I have a 2013 mazda 3 I dont do heaps but a bit of short trips I am getting only 380 a tank (55L)I want to know if this is roughly how many km others are getting?

2 answers

dogbert

Hi Courtney,
I have an automatic and do mostly city driving with the occasional highway, say about 10% of the time. I get about 400 to 450km out of a tank depending on how far below empty I let the car get to. However I can only fill up to 45 litres at one go, so if the tank is truly 55 litres, there must be 10 litres somewhere in reserves. I have been tracking my car and it averages 9L/100km. Premium petrol goes a few kilometres more but you won't get 600km out of it unless you have a manual and doing only highway miles on top of all sorts of thrifty means to go the extra mile.

I think you are referring to the light indicator for the Electronic Stability Program (ESP). It's one of the safety features of modern cars up there with anti-lock brakes and airbag. Guess you wouldn't want it switched off permanently. There is a switch on the right corner of the dash that allows you to toggle it on/off but if in doubt, take it back to the dealer for help.

Hello, I bought a Mazda 3 Neo 2012 model in April 2013. I bought it as a demo model. Just before Xmas we noticed small white spots in the paint. Also, when we washed the car a large chip came off on the bonnet, it was back to metal. Has anyone else had this problem?

4 answers

It could be that you live in a high humidity area and possibly need a new paint job at the panel beaters / if you want to do it yourself you will need a compressor, a paint gun, some primer some undercoat and the same colour paint / first you find a garage or warehouse with heaps of room then after that you could try paint stripping the old paint off though make sure you are wearing quality leather gloves or good gloves and clothing as paint stripping could burn, if it is back to bare metal then apply the primer then wait for it to dry then the undercoat then wait for it dry then 1 coat of quality paint then wait for to dry then one more though up to 4 coats of.paint though usually it is better for the panel beaters shop to do it as they are more experienced and qualified not to mention they have a glazing tools plus they have a oven type areas to make the paint dry faster

Did you ever return the car or discuss yhe paint problem with the dealer or Mazda? And if you don't mind me asking - what color was the car? My daughter has bought a brand new Mazda 3, with the extra paint protection package and 4 months in, small cracks and paint peel are appearing. Just wondering if your issue got resolved.

My June 2014 Mazda 3 Soul Red (Japan built) had a number of small spider rust spots (about 6-7) on the roof which I had investigated 5 months ago by Mazda dealer (reviewed again recently) but no luck as it was not perforated through the panel and their "expert" opinion by their technical team reckoned it was caused by an external factor ie. stone chips! On the roof! The spider rust had of course broken through the surface of the paint at it's weakest point.

Are Maza dealers interested in doing Manufacturers warranty repairs. My claim was put in on 18th December 2012 and I cannott get it repaired until 29th January 2013. Great customer service. I will buy a Toyota next time

2 answers

I've had no problems with Mazda dealers but in fact, found them to be better than Toyota by far. I've had 4 Camrys over 12 years or more (still got one) and every Toyota dealer was absolutely useless and even tried to rip off my wife with a $400 repair bill that a local mechanic did for next to nothing. My M3 has always been serviced by Mazda dealers with exceptional service each time. I also owned a 626 from new too some years ago and found it an excellent car too. Did over 130k in that too and never had a problem. In my opinion, you cannot compare the quality of a Mazda with Toyota although there is nothing wrong with their cars. Your problem may be due to you local mazda dealer.

The Mazda Australia workshop should honour the warranty by law
