Fantastic little vacuum
What a great little vacuum. The wheels are multidirectional so the vacuum goes where you want it to when you pull on the hose. The bags are easy to pull out to replace. The muti power level is very handy for different suction levels on different floors. And the auto retractable power cord is amazing. It's so effortless to use this vacuum. The Hepa filter has a clever little timer alert to let you know when it should be changed too.

Good for everyday use!
I am very happy with the performance of this vacuum, it is quiet and picks up everything from the ground. I use this on carpet, tiles and wooden floorboards. I do the vacuuming every second day and I would recommend this vacuum to anyone. There is 5 people in my house, so as you can imagine there is quite a bit of mess!

Super clean
I'm really happy with the powerful suction, removes all the tiniest hair or fluff on the floor, whether tiles, carpet or wooden.
It is easy to handle not too heavy, can decrease the volume and easy to manoeuvre even in a small space.
I find it easy to vacuum my floor tiles and wood but it's hard to operate on my carpets as it's got great suction and so bit difficult to manoeuvre.

Awesome Vacuum Cleaner
Happy with the machine overall. Great suction, don't have pets but long female hair just as bad. Love the various settings and the attachments. Good on porcelain tiles and the Turbo Brush gets deep into the carpet removing everything. Have had other brands which just don't compare to Miele. Have had three Miele machines over the last thirty years.

Great for pet hair
I use this 5-6 days a week & it's pretty great! It is slightly heavier than I would like for a vacuum but besides this minor draw back it is fantastic. The suction is great, I have 3 dogs & it picks up their hair with ease. we have wooden floorboards throughout our home, I would recommend this vacuum.

A great vacuum - perfect for everyday use!
I love this vacuum! When in use it is very quiet and it also has great suction. It is perfect for picking up the dog hair all around the house and it is very easy to empty. It is quite light and easy to move from room to room. I use this in both carpet and slate.

Awesome Suction
The suction is so powerful, it was stronger and quieter than my old DC14 Dyson. Being a bagged vacuum it more hygienic to dispose as there is no puff dust flying up at you. Bags take ages to fill up. only negative is it cost 25$ per 4 bags.

Very Good
It is so quiet compared to other brands. Sucking is extremely well.I have no complains on the vacuum cleaner itself. But just the cost of the dust bags is so high. I replaced the bags about once every three months. So a box of four can last a year though.

A petite but powerful ally in the fight against filth
Firstly, I have to admit that price was a big factor is attracting me to this vacuum cleaner. I needed to replace my knackered Nilfisk but didn't want to spend a fortune. I did my research and the Miele C2, at $299, was a serious contender. The offer of a 20% ebay discount sealed the deal. "Lotus White" may not have been my preferred colour choice but neither was it a deal-breaker.
I've owned Miele vacuums before and have always loved their manoeuvrability and powerful suction. I think it's only when you've had to wrestle with a vacuum ...Read more
cleaner of lesser quality that you appreciate the Miele's sturdiness. A vacuum cleaner should make a hated chore easier, and not one you come to dread in the knowledge that its cheap, over-flexible hose will fold - cutting off all suction - whenever the slightest adjustment in cleaning orientation is required. Nor should its telescopic wand resist all efforts to adjust it and jam constantly. My previous vacuum disappointed on both counts: the Miele C2 does not. The Miele C2's compactness means that it's lighter and more portable than it's larger-framed C3 cousin. This also means there's less vacuum cleaner to store....which brings me to the matter of its main drawback and reason I'm awarding this model four stars, not five. The C2's body is too small to accommodate the three vacuum head attachments which come with it and the user is offered a storage solution which is hopeless and impractical...or hopelessly impractical, even: a plastic ring which clips on to the hose connector or just behind the hand piece. Either way, neither position is secure and the attachment holder just falls off as soon as the vacuum is used. I've had to store the attachments elsewhere, which means they aren't to hand when I need to use them. My bet is that they'll soon get misplaced and will turn up in pristine condition when I move house in 15 years' time. The cost of replacement filter bags is always a bitter pill to swallow, especially in Australia. My advice is to shop around and buy bags in bulk if you can.Similar opinion? Best vacuum cleaner we've owned!
Best vacuum cleaner we've ever owned. The suction is great. Comes with all the useful attachments you might need. Has a height adjustable handle which my husband loves since he's very tall and finds it hard to find a vacuum that can be adjusted to the right height so he doesn't have to hunch over using it.

COMPARE WITH DYSON ANIMAL, I WOULD CHOOSE DYSON
i bought miele vacuum clener since 2015, for the first half year, it is fine for my carpet, however, it sounds does not work well after that. btw, the head is not easy to disassemble as hair is easy to fouled with the head. Then I bought the DYSON V6 Animal, which is easer for me to use and clean the machine, the only matter is battery is not enough for the whole rooms, I have to charge it during housework

This thing sure does suck, in a good way
COuldnt be happier with our choice of vacuum. We use it mnostly on carpet in a 3 bedroom house and it works great. The bags take us about 6 months to fill up. You never have to go over an area more than once which is fantastic. It comes with a whole bunch of different nozzles which is also good. Good value for money

Absolutely Brilliant
This is the best brand vacuum you can get in my opinion. A few years old and could still suck the spots off a leopard. Not too loud, the cord on the vacuum is so long that I can do our large lounge room all from the one power point. No extension cord needed. Brilliant vacuum. I will buy Miele always.

Went for German made
Recently bought a new Miele compact C2 from HN as the Choice reviews were great however I didn't realise they were talking about the model made in China not the German made one. I am a little disappointed that a German made Miele appliance rated lower than the Chinese version but so be it. I had a Miele compact vacuum in the 90s, it was amazing, not even plaster dust slowed it down. The Electrolux purchased to replace it was good but not in the same league. So now I have this new black Miele vac that really sucks! I mean that in the best possible way, it is light weight and easy to take upstairs and of more robust construction than the Electrolux. Hoping it will do the next 12 years with as much class as my 90s Miele.

A great vacuum with an outstanding accessory
I don't like vacuuming and it doesn't like me. After several back injuries unrelated to housework, my muddle-aged body doesn't much appreciate the regular twisting, turning and neck craning that the regular clean-ups require. I've had Nilfisk vacuums until recently and have always been, as much as possible, happy with the vacuums while still hating the task. When my latest vacuum exhaled it's last gasp in a loud puff of noxious smoke a week before Christmas, my wife and I went off to the local HN to see what was available.
I always do my re...Read more
view homework and knew which makes/models to consider and as Nilfisk isn't widely supported or sold in my area, I had to look at alternatives. The VERY young salesperson surprised me with his product knowledge and after listening to the kind of house we live in and assessing our situation, budget & requirements, he suggested the Miele Compact C2 because of it's reliability, cleaning power, portability and light weight. I was sceptical at first because the C2 is higher priced and has lower specifications than it's nearest competitors but the seller was firm in his recommendations and he explained that the German-made C2 was better value because of it's cleaning ability and life-expectancy. He also made the bold claim that he thought that the 1200 watt C2 would perform better than the made-in-China Miele C1 which has a 2000 watt motor. The vacuum's light weight makes pulling it around fairly easy and as it can pivot in any direction, it was easier to use (in the store) than most of it's natural competitors. I still wasn't convinced, especially as the machine comes with only 3 accessories and the "extra" carpet head cost a whopping $85 (turbo head was even more). So the young man said the seller's best line, "if you don't like it bring it back within 30 days for a full refund". Ok; I took the punt. Once home, I quickly realised that using this machine on our wood or tile surfaces would be simpler than my previous vacuums. Using it on our jute rugs was also good as it has a top-mounted power control with an efficiency read-out that keeps the user aware of the machine's optimum settings. At first I didn't like the top venting as every time I bent over the machine to change the power setting I got a blast of hot air, however I acknowledge that placing the vent on the top means that the very act of using the vacuum doesn't create a big dust cloud usual from the more common rear vents. Also, it's flexible wheel system and weight meant that I found using the machine less painful than I had experienced with my other vacuums, a big plus for me. Probably the biggest surprise came from using the accessories. The small brush head pivots. It pivots! Who but the Germans would think of this? An obvious though largely overlooked feature meant that I could now get the suction head to places I'd never been able to before, like the full width and breadth of the louvered windows. Brilliant! When I consider what I could have bought for my money, I am relieved and pleased that I chose the C2. I still don't like vacuuming but this one hurts me less and because of the pivoting small brush head, I am able to do a much more thorough cleaning with the vacuum as opposed to some of the arm-bending and painful neck twisting previously necessary. The service at HN was very good and the price was OK; I was a bit annoyed when the after-Christmas price was lower but my old vacuum didn't co-operate so I paid more. That said, every time I use the C2 I am glad I bought it and I've never had that experience with a vacuum before.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!
Questions & Answers
Andrew Masked
What is the power consumption of the C2 and C3 models when operating in "standard mode" and "energy saving" mode?
For context, we run our large home entirely from rooftop solar power (with a 13.2kW Tesla Powerwall2 battery for use when the sun is not shining - e.g. overnight or on cloudy days). This means that we need to be EXTREMELY careful with every W of use during the evenings or when the weather is grey or raining.
I can see that that C2 and C3 are rated at 1800kW and 2000kW respectively, which is presumably the power draw when the vacuum cleaner is used on the standard setting - i.e. they would use 1.8kW or 2.0kW if used for an hour on a standard setting.
The critical issue is therefore: what is the power draw in watts for these two models when the system is using the "energy saving" mode?

Does this have an adjustable-length rod/handle? I've heard owners of the C1 model complain that the handle is NOT adjustable (and especially difficult for very short people, who find it too long). I also know that the C3 IS adjustable. However, I can't find any specific information regarding the C2 model.
