Do you use finish tabs, rinse aid and dishwasher cleaner? How does it compare to the Miele brand?

We get frequent power outages. When the power came back on, our old Miele dishwasher would resume operating from the point where it was when the power went off and just complete the cycle. The new 6620 just stops in its tracks. When the power resumes, the dishwasher is just sitting there and the cycle needs to be started all over again. This is a concern to me as we only have tank water and we need to be very careful with the amount of water we use. Added to this is the extra power and detergent used to wash the load all over again. Why did Miele change the system used in the old dishwasher? It seems a very retrograde step and certainly not very environmentally friendly. Is there any way around this?

Does the machine automatically come with any type of steam guard for under the bench? Do I really need to buy the "UBS G 60-1 Dishwasher built-under kit"?

Also, if I turn off the Auto open feature, will the fan alone dry the glassware and dishes well enough?

Yes it does. Steam has not been a problem and dishes do dry better with this function.

Germany. Since the last post Miele have been in touch and sent a technician out Friday. He checked it over and said all was good and it was no noisier than it should. The first wash I reported the cutlery came our dirty. It hasn’t been a problem since. In fact the dishes are certainly clean. It’s just not as quiet as I expected it to be.

I have been used the MIELE G6620 for 12month but when I use the machine by normal mode(include eco, auto sensing and etc), which means not in short course, the display indicates it remains 3.5 hour to get it done. But the door opens when time remains more than 1 hour. So I mean, the display does not show the exact remaining time. In this case, I wonder it is okay or need to get repair? Thanks.

Hi Leo Kim, thanks for your question. The AutoOpen is an energy saving feature, no need for repair. Towards the end of the program the door will open automatically a little in order to assist in the drying process. The time remaining of about 1 hour is normal and this time is required for the drying process. At the end of this time you can open the door, reach under the door grip and pull. Open the door fully so that the door catch rail retracts again. Note this function can be deactivated if preferred- see user manual page 61. Kind regards, Jack.

Is the fan still running during this last hour of autoopen?

We have had this Miele for around 4 years. In the last two days, we have had a whirring noise for the last 10 mins of the short power cycle (which is the one we use all the time). No error lights or error codes are coming on. I have checked the filter, non return valve, drain pump and impeller. It is draining okay. I have run it empty with a dishwasher cleaner. The noise is louder and different than the hum of the dishwasher working and appears to be coming from the motor at the bottom. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.

I have had this dishwasher for 2 weeks replacing an old Miele which provided many years of completely reliable quiet service. The new one operates perfectly satisfactory except it is noisy. There is a thumping noise at about 120 thumps per minute for part of each phase of the cycle. The thumping is present when operating the washer completely empty. Is this normal? I have a recording of the noise

Hi, my new Miele is great but I would love some advice on how to adjust the door springs as the door falls down as you open it unless I hold it. The manual says door springs should hold the door at 45 degrees when you open but not how to adjust. Online videos only seem to be for older/different models.
Thanks

Hi Raven, mine does the same however I quite like the door going all the way as the only time we open the Dishwasher is to fill or empty
Sorry I haven't helped however I might have a play and get back to you

Hi Raven, thank you for your question. The door springs on either side need to be evenly adjusted. They are correctly adjusted if the half-opened door (approx. 45° door opening angle) remains in this position when it is released. The door must not fall down under its own weight. The appliance may only be used with correctly adjusted door springs. Please contact Miele who can assist you further to resolve this by calling 1300 464 353. Kind regards, Anna.

Thanks. I did email Miele as well and a representative called me this morning. They are getting back to me re installation instructions which presumably include directions on adjusting the door.
Cheers

Update...Miele directed me to videos on YouTube produced by some fixit guy! Expected a technical manual would have been available from Miele.

Hi. May I know how long each progranme lasts (drying included)
Also, does it have any leak proof technology (whether leak from machine or water inlet)?

Thank you!

Hi, regarding how the programs last please refer to the instruction manual. You can find it via this link https://www.miele.com.au/professional/inactivem-user-manuals-177.htm and type in the 'Product name' field 'G 6620' and download the operating instructions and refer to page 64-65 for cycle times. With regard to leak-proof technology, there is a leak protection float switch in the sump which turns off inlet water and turns on the drain pump in event of any water leakage. The inlet hose has a waterproof double inlet valve at the start of the hose to prevent water pressure to build up in the inlet hose. If you have any questions don’t hesitate to call us on 1300 464 353. Kind regards, Anna.

Hi Gillian. The widest part of mine is 595 mm so 600 mm should be enough width. Regards, Jon
