Always leaves food on dishes
Our 2 drawer fisher and packel died so I thought I would try the Miele. What a mistake. The only way we can get a reasonable wash is to remove the filter basket, which quickly broke off anyway. The machine is so difficult to clean and the sprayers are impossible to unclog. I end up hand washing most of the time. The only good thing is it is quiet.
Purchased at Miele Online Shop for $2,000.00.

Not buying Miele again
We had 7 year old Miele front loader washing machine and dryer which were behaving perfectly, so when our 15 year old Kleenmaid dishwasher died we decided to go with the Miele G6620 SCU. Purchase of the dishwasher was in May 2017. Since that time the front loader died, broke it's heavy metal spindle arm off completely. Didn't have any concerns about the dishwasher, it was washing beautifully, very quiet, couldn't be happier until about 10 days ago when the F24 light came on. Only advice in the instructions is to call a Miele tech.

n out May 2022 therefore we now have a service call of $179 for first 30 minutes, $34 for every 15 minutes thereafter plus parts. Canstar Blue Australia advises expected dishwasher life is 8 years. Given Miele's proud boast of longevity of products, they either need to rethink their boast or rethink their product. I'm very unhappy and won't even consider Miele for replacement appliances again.Purchased in May 2021 at Harvey Norman Retail Stores - Appliances for $2,148.00.

A bit disappointed.
I’ve always had Bosch dishwashers and loved them. As we were building a new house with the kitchen in the living area I wanted a super quiet dishwasher. I have friends with Miele dishwashers and I’ve had to put my ear against them to see if they were running. This machine however is noisy. I can hear the water splashing and the motor whirring. Also some of my cutlery came out as dirty as it went in. I am really disappointed that I spent so much extra to get a Miele and it’s worse than the Dishlex we had to use while we were renting during the build process. I’m wondering if they forgot to put sound insulation in the door. I feel ripped off.
Purchased in December 2021 at Harvey Norman for $1,999.00.

Set up impossible
I took receipt of the dishwasher and needed to adjust the height. However the instructions for doing so are only in diagrams and inaccurate as to how the back legs are adjusted. The instructions appear to offer two options; 1) using a torx screwdriver or 2) pushing the bottom of the leg with a screw driver. Option 1 works with the front legs bit there is not torx screw on the back legs and the attempt to turn the leg with a screw driver doesn't work. The legs are firmly fixed in place and won't adjust.
Ringing support didn't help either. They...Read more
very unhelpfully sent me an Operating Manual on how to use the dishwasher. If only I could. Update: Mea culpa! I recently wrote a review about how difficult it was to adjust the back legs of the machine for height adjustment. After talking with someone at Harvey Norman, I got it right and realise the problem I was facing was all of my own fault for not understanding the picture instructions. The fact is that the back legs adjust using the front screws! Very convenient and much easier than what I thought I was meant to do.Purchased in November 2021 at Harvey Norman for $2,099.00.

Very Happy with this machine.
Very Happy with this machine. Our last Miele lasted for 17 years. This model is user friendly, does a great job but we do scrape our dishes. Rack is versatile, easy to load and love the wine glass holder. Highly recommend this Meile dishwasher.

This Dishwasher has faults - but Miele have kindly helped me with the issue
Bought a G 6620 SCU to replace our Miele G 1142 SCU which we had for 11 years until the mother board died(previous other brands lasted longer). The G 6620 SCU fitted precisely into the same space, even the fixing screws lined up with the original holes. BUT beware-this new dishwasher has a door opening feature which opens 20 minutes before the cycle has finished to let out steam, which is destroying our timber work-make sure you have stainless steel or similar protection on the sides of the cabinets. The bottom wire mesh tray also has removable parts that keep falling off-I won't buy another Miele.
Update - a Miele representative got in contact with me, and showed me how to change the program so that the door doesn't open on each cycle.
Purchased in May 2021 for $1,799.00.

Happy with our Miele G6620 SCU Dishwasher
The Miele G6620 SCU is an excellent dishwasher. I was initially apprehensive about spending so much, but it washes very well for both normal dishes and pots and pans, is quiet and is of a high quality. We highly recommend this machine.

The best yet
I purchased this dishwasher in Sept 2018 to replace my ailing Bosch. It is the quietest dishwasher I have ever owned. I love the cutlery tray configuration as it is so versatile. The quick power wash suits all but the most soiled, baked on pots and dishes. The longer washes are great for dealing with the more heavily soiled items. The drying is excellent, especially the way the door automatically props open and continues the drying cycle with the fan still going. All in all I am very pleased with this purchase. In addition the salesman at Bing Lee Belconnen was very helpful in showing the features of the various dishwashers and was not at all pushy.

Overpriced because it underperforms, with poor design and poor washing results. Will choose another
This was the top of the range free standing dishwasher that Miele had available. I waited until it went on special, so it was $1500 plus I paid for the 5 year warranty $250, total investment $1750. Stacking this dishwasher is not easy, it takes me forever to try to fit in a standard amount of washing because the design is so inflexible and things just don't fit in it. I rarely use plates, I use a lot of different sized bowls, pots, pans, jugs, glass and stainless steel water bottles, and round, square and rectangle glass containers and lids. Ev...Read more
en standard cereal bowls don't stack properly into it, they don't sit up, they fall on each other. It's very hard to get things to fit without wasting a lot of room in the process. Stacking cutlery, of which I use mainly spoons, teaspoons, and large cooking spoons is also cumbersome, it all doesn't fit easily. There is no place for different shapes and sizes, other than standard dishes, and if I stack things in the corners like a glass cup or along the edges like a chopping board, they don't get washed properly either, so I can't fill the dishwasher up like I used to be able to with my previous Bosch or the brand I had before that which was a Fisher and Paykel. It's just unbelievable how inflexible and poorly designed the racks are for a "premium" price point. And "yes Miele", I know where all the adjustable parts are, there's just not enough adjust-ability. The wash cycles take a long time which would be fine, but the clean is below standard for the cutlery rack and the bottom rack, and anything placed in corners. I always have to use the 70 degree intensive setting to get a decent clean, and I use Miele tabs or Finish, but get better results with Finish. When going from one cycle to the next, for the second wash, often the cycle won't start, so I have to jiggle and push the door until it starts. Trying to clean saucepans properly or use the gentle cycle for glasses or plastics, or the lightly soiled wash for delicates often won't clean everything properly. Cleaning out the filter properly (which I do after every wash to try to get the best wash out of a bad dishwasher each time) is tedious because of how it's designed, and trying to put it back together and back into dishwasher, is incredibly fiddly and frustrating. You can't see what goes where, I've marked it with laundry marker, but it keeps washing off of course. The instructions, youtube etc didn't shed light on the method at the time I bought it. Food often gets stuck in the spindle parts, and removing them and flushing them with water won't always flush the food out, and there is no way for me to pull the spindles apart to clean them out, they are closed so you can't open them, so I need to use tweezers and I've even tried using the vacuum cleaner to try to get food particles out but it usually just falls back into the spindle! I contacted Miele within 30 days of use to complain about the poor wash results, and to ask for a refund. The lady was rude to me and said that she could send someone out to show me how to stack the dishwasher. I told her that I wasn't happy with it and wanted a refund and that this is my 3rd dishwasher and the first time I've had poor results, pretty sure I know how to stack a dishwasher! She said if I sent the machine back, I'd have to pay a 20% restocking fee. With such rude and unfair customer support, I resolved to keep it due to the cost of restocking, and to sell it off when I move house in future. My previous dishwasher was a Bosch which lasted 7 years, but it washed well and was flexible with stacking, and I now wish I stuck with the brand. I thought Miele was a premiere brand, and I was going to deck out my whole house with this brand when I move, as I had thought I'd take this dishwasher with me and I bought their $750 vacuum cleaner and it seemed pretty good. But now I think it's just an overpriced and overrated brand name, with poor customer service and return policy. I'll be going back to Dyson for the next vacuum too! Miele, -never again!Purchased in July 2021 at Miele Online Shop for $1,500.00.

Love having a dishwasher
Good dishwasher. Sometimes it doesn’t clean as well as I’d like but I think that could be from dodgy dishwasher tablets as it’s not consistent. Very quiet when in use which I love. Easy to clean. Doesn’t dry plastic dishes as well as I’d like but that’s only a minor issue.

Great Dishwasher, cant fault it.
The G6620 SCU from Miele is a great dishwasher, every now and then we get the odd dish that has baked on stuff requiring re washing, but 99% the time, dishes are spotless, washer is realively quiet, so all in all we are happy with our purchase. Great job Miele.

We love this dishwasher so much.
Our old dishwasher died and we couldn't decide whether to get an ASKO or a Miele. We went with an ASKO which was a total fiasco, so once our refund was sorted we bought this Miele dishwasher, and I don't think a day goes by where my partner and I don't remind each other of how much we love it. It looks great in our kitchen, but it's not just a pretty face.
The cutlery tray is excellent, and the design of the drawers is great. We are constantly amazed at how much we can fit in, and big or awkward items that never fit in our old dishwasher go...Read more
in easily. It is super quiet, we never have to worry about bursting hoses, and my favourite feature is how it opens itself a crack after it finishes - I never knew I needed this feature until we had it! The ASKO we originally chose had 'touch' style buttons with no tactile feedback which usually took a few presses to work, which wasn't something we realised we hated until we had to use it. This Miele has nice solid push buttons - simple is good. Dishes have always come out sparkling clean no matter which cycle we've used. I don't want to complain about anything on this dishwasher as it doesn't deserve it, but if I had to find something, the bottom drawer rolls so smoothly that it's easy to send a full drawer of plates crashing to the back of the dishwasher if you're not careful.1 comment

So Far, we are impressed
We replaced our Asko after 9 years which just died, and as we are not up for hand dish washing.
We purchased ours from Harvey Norman, the lady knew everything about each model of Miele, but I also checked each brand they carried, and the Miele stood out from the rest. This is our first Miele Appliance we have purchased, so expectations are high.

sher. I liked the option of the extra shelf for cutlery, which separates each piece ensuring a good clean, plus the extra space given in place of the basket we used to have. The installation went without a hitch, and we are happy with our purchase. Prices seem to be fixed by the supplier, which is somewhat questionable that retailers can't offer any further discounts on delivery or installation, or the appliance itself. Is that price fixing?1 comment

Excellent dishwasher
I've had this dishwasher for 5 weeks now. It replaces a 15 year old Miele dishwasher which I gave to my son (and which is still working perfectly). I am very happy with the new dishwasher. I have tried various programs on it (automatic, intensive, eco), as well as the shorter intensive option on one program, on loads of varying degrees of food encrusting, and have found everything comes out perfectly clean. This model has a cutlery tray, which I find very useful. The centre of the tray can be lowered if necessary for larger cutlery items.

he machine is so quiet that at times I've had to lean down and put my ear near to the door to determine if it was actually working. The only time I hear anything is when it is discharging water down the drain. Other reviewers have commented that in their experience the bottom rack doesn't hold large dinner plates. That is not my experience. I have had no problems stacking any of my crockery and pots. The buttons on the front are easy to use and self-explanatory. They include the options to delay start and also to use an intensive, shorter form of all programs except the eco program. As I have always done, I rinse off the worst of the food scraps before loading crockery and pots into the machine but I don't go to extremes. The machine cleans everything with no problems, including melted cheese from dishes like macaroni cheese. I particularly like the fact that the machine partially opens the door when it is finished (this is configurable but is on by default). This means that everything is completely dry when I unload the machine. I have no hesitation in recommending the machine. As with all my experiences with various Miele products over many years (washing machine, dryer, oven, range hood, induction cooktop), this machine is top quality and works perfectly.1 comment

Miele poor quality that does not last
We have many Miele products and there claim that they last 20 years is rubbish. Never again! Our 5 year old Miele dishwasher G5500SCI would not turn off. When the technician came out he said the motor was leaking cost to repair $800. So we decided to buy a new one Miele model G6620SCI. After 3 weeks we got the same error. Miele also damaged the kick boards and left them off. After 2 more visits they said they could not fit the kick boards back and we had to replace them at our cost? We are waiting to see what they offer.

Had an old Miele dishwasher for 15 years that broke, brought this one as we needed the salt option and an Intergrative front. The front was very easy to install and so was the dishwasher. Would highly recommend, especially if replacing an old Miele making it easy for me to do.

The Best Dishwasher
Should have bought a Miele the first time.
I have owned a German Bosch and an ASKO dishwasher and both brands have absolutely nothing on this.
Extremely Quiet. The Wine glass holder in the bottom rack is very convenient. The plates stack perfectly if you know how to stack a dishwasher.
11/10 Wash Quality. The Automatic Cycle is amazing.
I run the dishwasher either before I go to work or before I go to bed and every-time I go back to the dishwasher the Dishes are DRY! AND CLEAN!

FAIR - UPDATED
We upgraded our 17 year old Asko for no other reason than the wife wanted Stainless (see our fridge purchase also!) We paid $2000, for a Swedish built machine instead of $1500 for the Czech assembled machine. We did have an open mind and our Asko had been brilliant. The manager at Harvey Norman did warn us that ANYTHING built today will not work as well as something built 17 years ago... and at the end of the day he was right. ttle fingers that they sit in. The biggest disappointment is the length of the programmes. Up to 3 hours..... even the short quick programme is 54 minutes and does not heat the contents on completion so they do not dry and shine. It does the job but disappointed that you pay that extra for something 'special' only to be disappointed. I note they are down to $1750... no surprise. it is a nice quiet machine compared to our old Asko. UPDATE : Dec 2018 - a cherry pip got thru the filters and stopped the impeller. The service technician arrived and we discussed the performance which after 12 months is still about FAIR. I mentioned that we paid an extra $500 for a "made in Sweden" model instead of the Czech model. He advised that the model currently on sale for $999 has exactly the same internals as ours. Basically there is no difference between the 2 models...but the company thinks the salesmen are pitching a variation.... Ho Hum...Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Very, very similiar experience!
Our models are not identical, but the product experience is eerily similiar. In our case, our dinner plates will not stand up once you have placed three or more into the bottom draw. The plates are very standard size and shape (Royal Doulton). The slots allowed are too narrow and the plates literally spring out of their places and domino the other plates over. The clean is also quite average unless the intensive setting is used and even this will not always provide a thorough clean (Miele dishtabs). I have contacted Miele and whilst initially v...Read more

Do you use finish tabs, rinse aid and dishwasher cleaner? How does it compare to the Miele brand?

We get frequent power outages. When the power came back on, our old Miele dishwasher would resume operating from the point where it was when the power went off and just complete the cycle. The new 6620 just stops in its tracks. When the power resumes, the dishwasher is just sitting there and the cycle needs to be started all over again. This is a concern to me as we only have tank water and we need to be very careful with the amount of water we use. Added to this is the extra power and detergent used to wash the load all over again. Why did Miele change the system used in the old dishwasher? It seems a very retrograde step and certainly not very environmentally friendly. Is there any way around this?

Does the machine automatically come with any type of steam guard for under the bench? Do I really need to buy the "UBS G 60-1 Dishwasher built-under kit"?
Also, if I turn off the Auto open feature, will the fan alone dry the glassware and dishes well enough?

Yes it does. Steam has not been a problem and dishes do dry better with this function.
