ASX represents unbeatable value at price
ASX standard model is well appointed with reverse mirror, folding wing mirrors, quality steel wheel rims, warranty and free roadside assist - at $23,950 on road it's excellent value. Car drives well and is responsive around town and sufficiently powered for the open road. While the 2.0L engine is not overly powerful (less so than my wife's previous Nissan X Trail (with 2.5L) it is sufficient for most situations and fuel efficient. The engine and road-noise are more marked than my Toyota RAV though not major issues. Dashboard, legroom and general layout are all pleasingly well designed. The ASX provides good visibility and ample carrying capacity for most use.

Love my ASX
I am a huge fan of my ASX! When I was originally reading reviews before I purchased it I was a little unsure, as a lot of people said that the seats were really uncomfortable and because I had planned on taking my ASX across the Nullabour that was playing on my mind. I haven't found any issues with the seats and it drove across the Nullabour like a dream! Probably the only thing I would like to see in future models is a little more go power. If you are looking for something that is a quick zippy car, this model probably isn't for you.

Love this car
Had a baby so needed a bigger car and one that was safer. Very happy with it overall and the value. Got a good deal from Castle Hill Toyota. Love the colour and the styling. Only thing that needs improving is the stereo. In this day and age cars need rear speaker somewhere in the car. My hubby put some in so its ok now. Safety was important to us so we are very happy. Plenty of space in boot and back seats. Also staff at castle hill toyota were very good and we got a great deal. Love the car. Petrol efficiency is great also.

First small Suv and I'm happy!
I have had mine since Jan 2016 and so far it has been great! We upgraded as we were having another baby and needed to fit 3 carseats in the back which we were able to do. The interior although fairly basic is comfortable and relatively roomy. The boots space is ok and I'm able to fit my double pram in easily. The car itself drives nice and smooth and I feel safe having my family of 5 in the car. I wouldn't say that it's great on fuel but I do do alot of short trips and sometimes several times a day so that my be contributing to my consumption.

Love my car! Great on petrol!
Runs extremely well! Very cost effective on petrol due to being a four cylinder motor. It has a well designed interior. The only issue I have had which isn’t anything mechanical but the glove box clip doesn’t shut properly. The mechanic replaced the clips & it’s still didn’t close. The whole glove box was replaced & it still doesn’t close properly which is extremely irritating considering I purchased the vehicle brand new from the car dealership.

Perfect city-based SUV
Great driving experience. The wheel is easy to handle. The speed pickup is super fast, and I just wish I could drive this on German's highway where there is no speed limit. The Interior is pretty basic as compared to the European cars or higher-end Japanese cars. It's been reliable so far and does not use that much petrol. 7.8 L per 100 km on a highway.

I love this car
This is the first car I have bought brand new and am more than happy. It's a good looking car is very fuel efficient and does not 'drag when picking up speed. I feel very safe in this car. I do however find the car is noisy and I can hear the tyres on the road. The seats also become a little uncomfortable on long trips and I've found myself using a cushion for the small of my back. Even if I knew of these issues prior, I'd still buy it all over again. My husband want one for himself

Attractive design but too small!
It's a nice small SUV but too small for a young family. Back seat very cramped with two baby seats. No room for a third person in the back seat with the two baby seats. Boot space barely fits our icandy peach pram. Definitely does not fit a double pram. Standard LS is very standard with hardly any extras. Seat fabric feels cheap. Driving feels unstable on the road and the engine is quite loud. Positives are nice wheel rims, attractive front end design, good fuel economy and nice colour range. But unfortunately I regret this buy. Wish I did not ...Read more
make such a quick decision buying this car. I actually took it back to the same car yard I brought it from (Mitsubishi Alto Pennant Hills) five weeks after buying it brand new & was offered $10,000 less than what I brought it for. Does not hold value well at all. I would recommend to look at bigger SUV models for a family unless you specifically want a small one or don't need baby car seats or don't need extra boot space. Or look at other car makes.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Fantastic Small SUV!
I had previously driven an ASX as a rental and loved it for its fuel efficiency, spacious interiors and extra height it gave me when on the road. So much so, I purchased one! The variable transmission means that you save on fuel without hindering its overall performance on the road. Its a smooth quiet drive!
Interiors are simple, with a fold-out drinks tray from the central back seat. The model that I am currently driving includes a reverse camera as standard in addition to reverse sensors, which is perfect for those tight city carparks.

Happy with my purchase
First of all I have to say I've come from driving a 2002 Hyundai Elantra so obviously any new car will seem great by comparison. Having said that, I did also regularly use my mum's Volkswagen Tiguan 2015 so I do know what it's like to not drive a janky old car.
From a non-motoring enthusiast POV: It does grunt and take a bit of effort to accelerate from stationary but once it gets going it's smooth driving. The running costs seem pretty reasonable to me, a full tank did get us from Melbourne to Horsham and back (600km). A lot of reviews seem ...Read more

Perfect amount of space for a growing family
What I love about my Mitsubishi ASX is that it has more space inside than most small SUVs and drives nicely on country roads, with a comfortable ride, good steering and plenty of power. It comes with a five-year warranty. There is good airbag coverage all around, and the standard rear parking sensors and reversing camera raise safety levels by giving a better understanding of what’s behind. The air-conditioning maintains a set temperature and it has heated front seats, which feels great in winter. The wheels are made from an aluminium alloy whi...Read more
ch makes it look nicer. Front fog lights double as daytime running lights makes the car more visible to others. The ASX offers the perfect amount of space for a growing family. There is not enough light at the backseats thoughSimilar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

I love my car!
Such a good driving experience. Love the interior and the leather heated seats, sooooo good on the butt in winter LOL. Even being diesel 4WD the fuel economy is fantastic. Good audio system and very spacious back seat area and tailgate storage is good. Good to tow small trailer too.

Perfect
I Purchased this car in 2016 EOFY deal. Great car for me and my family. Lots of leg room but boot space is a little limited. Cheap to run and have had no issues whatsoever. cheap to service. Have done long trips (10hrs) with no problems. Reliable little family car indeed.

Great small family SUV
Easy car to drive, handling is good. Car is very quit with no road noises. Interior is leather which I love. It has heated front seats which have the controls beside the seat. Great in winter because of the leather is cold when you first get in. Has a reversing mirror and censors when parking. Auto lock without key and key charging in glove box. Lots of room in the boot for a pram and grocery's.

Unrefined but reliable
Pros:
No issues so far
Fair servicing costs
Good features for price at base model
Cons:
Loudh, harsh engine
Uneconomical with fuel
Heavy car for the size - feels sluggish
Bad audio system (mainly ipod intergration) and horrid speakers - I replaced these with a new system but it was difficult

Excellent Car with Amazing Fuel Economy
My wife and I totally love this car. It drives really well and very comfortable. We have done many 500km-1000km trips in this beauty and I think it's an underrated car. Great viewing, seat height and road presence. Not the most powerful car in the world but enough to get around cars and drive effectively. Fuel economy is the best we've had thus far. Great for car sears for the kids to and all around a very recommended vehicle in my opinion.

ASX don't buy you will regret it
I bought my ASX after a test drive, I like the looks but after a few weeks I new I had made a mistake, where to start, the dash board kept making a rattling that was intermittent so the deal couldn't find it, the transmission was like Sherman tank it clunked into second gear, dealer said it ok after 70k, it handled poorly, I found that I was constantly revving it through the gears to bring it up to speed, o and it rubbish on MPH (1.8 diesel) gets no where near what it says on the box, and then theirs the servicing, get ready to stomp up £550 fo...Read more
r a service. After 6 month's I had to sell it and that's where the fun started, I took it to Mitsubishi dealers in Manchester and they wouldn't even make me an offer, I spoke to a sales man and he said they cannot sell what they got, so EBay was the next try, I offered it a 1k lower than any other ASX and after 3 weeks not a sniff, sold in the end at Evans Halshaw and took a loss of 4k, I've had lot of motors in my time and I rate this as the worst vehicle I've ever drove, DON'T BUY ONESimilar opinion? Great around town and on long drives!
We wanted a vehicle which was economical, spacious, had the SUV higher seating position for driver visibility and style of course. This vehicle ticked all the boxes! On long drives, the fuel tank seems to expand and we have been able to run it around town on only half a tank for 1-2 weeks no problem. The interior is plush and far better than the old Mitsubishi Outlander we had. Boot space and cabin space are plentiful and it's a very quiet drive too. Highly recommended.

Effortless drive
I spent almost a year torturing myself on which small to medium SUV I should buy. I really wanted the extra space and size of an SUV but not the increased running expense and not one too big to move around the narrow streets of Sydney.
I feel my Diesel ASX model meets all of these requirements while providing a smooth drive. I test drove the Holden TRAX at the same time and that model steering was heavy in comparison. My 75 year old mother has further validated this; she was worried about driving the ASX due to the size but she has since rave...Read more

Dianne J.asked
i have a ASX XB 1015
does the reversing camera have a beeping sound when reversing
mines not working or dosnt have one
can some one help
Thanks dianne

My 2012 model only beeps if it's getting too close to something (unlike a truck). I presume yours is the same.
As per above, there is no beeping when engaging reverse gear. The Park Distance Control (PDC) only beeps as you get closer to an obstacle behind you, the more it beeps, the closer your are to hitting something-if reverse camera is fitted, the red line means you should stop reversing.(solid beep)

Just brought a standard 2020 ASX. How do i turn the spotlights down the bottom on. Have upgraded from a 2014 model, can't find a button or switch anywhere.

If it's the same as my 2012 one, there should be a ring below the headlight controls on the right.
Before driving a new car, you should study the owners manual. I always go through it with a highlighter. There is potential danger in not knowing how your vehicle operates.
As per Catherine above, check on the right side stalk by the steering wheel. There should be a ring to rotate just before the actual light toggle switch

Hi guys, only had my car brand new for a month and it has just started locking itself about 30 seconds after I exit. It hasnt done this previously. Anyone know why? Thanks

I have a 2022 black edition and have not had that problem...possibly ring the dealer service department where you purchased the vehicle and ask if this is normal on your model...
Don't worry yet. Check with your dealer. It could be an added extra feature. Many cars in Japan do that routinely as a safety precaution - same as the side mirrors closing when you lock and engines stopping when you stop at lights to save fuel. Be careful with latter - can use up your battery..
This should be a feature that you can disable. I think the doors automatically relock if the driver's door hasn't been opened within 30sec.
