Doesn't Cool the Room.

published

Bought the model that the Air Conditioning co installer recommended and confirmed that it would be the correct size for the room.
However we have been quite unhappy with it to date. It puts out cool air, however it never gets the actual room cold. Not even when we run it for hours and hours at the maximum air flow setting.
I have tried to lodge a service request with Mitsubishi however no one called me.
Very unhappy.

Purchased in December 2021.

MSZ-AP Series

Why does the larger model ap series have the lower horizontal louvre facing down in the highest horizontal setting on the remote also long throw setting. If you select horizontal that's what should happen not top Louvre horizontal and bottom louvre facing down.

Why no larger residential unit then 7.8 kW ??

Sadly Mitsubishi still has not corrected the design of the horizontal fins in this new ap model from the previous ge and GL models. The bottom louvre in the horizontal setting angles down instead of horizontal as you would think it would, the top louver however does face horizontal, but the majority of air blows down which defeats the long throw function and its not pleasant if you don't want the air blowing on you but across the ceiling. This flaw is only in the 6-8kw models. The smaller ap models however, Mitsubishi has fixed this flaw and both horizontal louvers face up and blow air across the ceiling . Over 10 years and 3 model's Mitsubishi still don't have it fixed.

Also they still have not incorporated a larger capacity unit then the 7.8kw in the range to catch up to Daikin, mhi, Fujitsu by offering 9+kw unit for larger home floorplans. If you choose to stick with Mitsubishi electric and you require larger then a ramped out 7.8kw at 9.2 kW then your only option is to buy the pka m100kal at an exorbitant pricetag.

Fix the louvers and make a residential 9kw Mitsubishi....time for catch up.....
