Mitsubishi Outlander 2nd Generation (ZG, ZH) (2006-2012) Questions & Answers (page 2 of 2)

Hello there, I have a 2012 ZH. My question is, when I turn the car off and have not put it in park, I can take the keys out of the ignition whether it's in drive or neutral, is this a fault?
I'm not a mechanic but I'd assume this is a fault as I just checked on my car and the key can't be removed unless it is in park...suggest you take it in for a check up.
Hi :)
I'm looking at purchasing the Mitsubishi Outlander 2009-2011 model. I was wanting the 2wd outlander because I'm not going to use the 4wd function but there are really not many around in my budget ($10,000-$12,8000)
So... My only option is getting the outlander with the 2wd and 4wd option, I understand that this could be costly in servicing but my boyfriend is a mechanic so it doesn't bother me too much.
My question is, if I were to get the 2wd/4wd outlander, but only use the 2wd function, will it still perform like the 2wd only model, or is there a noticeable difference?
Thank you
hi, re your inquiry the 2wd/4wd outlanders most outlanders have 4wd but only when its selected so they run in 2wd saves fuel this way. performance wise i dont think there would be much difference. it...
Read mores handy to have the 4wd if your on slippery roads. as for servicing cost there wouldn't be much difference but your boyfriend could service it for just the cost of the oil ect. i service my outlander mine is a diesel. mitsubishi are expensive with there service costs. just make sure the outlander you choose has a good service history.better late than never.... no difference. It's brilliant for wet weather around town and on dirt roads. I'll never go back to 2WD only.
I have a 2007 outlander xls keep getting intermittent service required fault on keyless entry have taken to mitsubishi dealer 5 times they can not repair fault. any ideas ?
hi. i dont have much faith in Mitsubishi dealers workshops. but have you replaced the battery in the remote or do you have have a spare remote key to try. i had a nissan x trail be for my outlander th...
Read moree battery die, had it replaced then i had problems with the electronics lights came on that id never seen before plus the car wouldn't reconise the remote key. the whole system had to be reprogrammed by Nissan. i would approch a couple of good auto elecs who are up todate with with these systems. best of luck with it.I have a strange intermittent grinding sound coming from roughly the fornt LH/s when i am driving very slowly in the middle of town. It only lasts a few seconds and then it is gone again. I'm puzzled and confused by this noise.
Other than that, it drives well (always in 4wd), and there are no other signs or strange things happening, only that grinding sound....
It is a Mitsubishi Outlander MY09 vrx V6 and CVT transmission.
Would appreciate and sound advice on this issue?
Kind Regards,
Mick
Hey Mick,
That could be anything. Could be your brakes not releasing straight away, bearings being worn or even your wheel alignment. Best to have it checked out by a good mechanic (not necessarily...
Read more Mitsubishi). Looks like we have the same car! just an FYI, the V6s don't come as CVT, they are just regular clunky autos. Only the 2.4Ls are CVTs.Could it be the CV joint in the front wheel? I only drive mine in front wheel drive usually and use 4 when necessary. Just completed a 6000km journey with no problems and used 4 W twice while away.
Cheers.
