Hi, I'm considering purchasing a 2000 model NM Exceed.

Wondering whether the third row seats fold into floor or up the side?

Any other tips tricks and pitfalls would be great too! :)

i have 2008 pajeero 3.8 idle rpm 850 when turn steering rpm gos to1500, what is the problem? this is full option
anybody can give answer

Nigel J.

Your rmp should go up slightly when turning the wheel.it is like a fast idle switch on the power steering pump as turning put on a load and wi r hour idle speed would drop to near stall .
If im correct

We have a Pajero 2005 it developed a whining noise which appears when slowing down to stop and then just prior to stop it has a loud clunk. We took it to a mechanic who was unable to actually hear the fault as it is intermittent and was decided to replace the transfer box. After less than 500 kms the same noise and clunck has returned. Can anyone help? It is a petrol motor with LPG as well.

Hi i had the same problem on my nm pajero to find out it was the front diff lock solanoids which is located in the engine bay on the right hand side under the air box. Brought the pair on ebay from china. And have not had any problems since and that was about 18 months ago.hope that helps.cheers Danny

Does the fuel pump get damaged if timing chain snaps?

Malkie
Malkie ·

I'm assuming diesel. i only have a petrol pajero. but i have diesel trucks and tractors. i have never heard of this, i hope sum others reply with more knowledge. worst scenario for a timing chain or belt break is normally valves thru piston tops, leaving holy pistons and bent conrods. it is possible the broken chain could have damaged the pump drive cog? but a lot of pumps are driven off the cam or crank. if you find your answer plse post as it will help others. i will be buying an older 2.8 turbo pajero soon as they scream on recycled cooking oil!!

My 2001 Pajero V6NM petrol the centre light of the 4wd stays on what maybe the problem??

Fred
Fred ·

Probably a dodgy electrical connection on the transfer case. Join the Pajero 4WD Club of Victoria as their forums are invaluable for sorting issues like this. Good luck.

Wayne
Wayne ·

A common glitch in mine too. Just check your fluids and keep working your 4wd low ranges regularly. Make sure you disengage correctly by stopping, then move the shifter out from whatever low range gear you're, in back one at a time, then drive forward slowly, not under load until light blinks out. Then you can drive off in normal gearing. My Pajero did it as well, until I gave it a work out every now and then. Otherwise, the sender needs to be inspected.

I have a NM Pajero and the auto choke is sticking on how can I fix it?

Malkie
Malkie ·

i have the reverse problem "auto choke" stopped working. i read there is no auto choke, and is controlled by a "stepper" motor. this is activated on and off by the heat sensor. (of which it appears are 2) i think the stepper motor is up under the inlet intake. on my older pajero i just wound in the air mixture screw up the top, but it dosn't fix the main problem. hopefully some knowledgeable mechanic replies for both of us, good luck

Wayne
Wayne ·

It's a sealed electronic fast idle solenoid attached by 6 bolts to manifold which can clog up in the opening with carbon residue. You can try and clean it out with a carburettor cleaning agent or get a 2nd hand or new one for about $180 - $200.

Hi everyone I've just bought a 2005 Mitsubishi Pajero Exceed and I got it detailed
The detailer accidentally run it out of fuel
My bad really I should have topped it up
Put 20 litres of premium in it
But it won't start
I've taken your mum out check that and that's all working fine but the motor that sounds like it isn't getting enough spark or something but was running perfect before hand
If anyone has any ideas that would be awesome.
Thanks in advance

Could someone please tell me the location of fuel filters on 3.5 v6 nm Pajero?

Malkie
Malkie ·

i think the reason i havn't done my filter is it is part of the pump and in the tank. should be a plate under back seat behind driver that takes you to the tank with another plate to pump/filter.?good luck, leave sum feedback so i can do mine!
