Great basic card
I signed up to the Myer visa card a couple of months ago, and I am happy with it. Telephone customer service from GE finance has been good. The Myer visa card online service centre is fairly simple. I like accessing the online service centre every couple of days to keep track of my spending. The annual fee of $39 is very low, and when I signed up there was a deal in which I didn't have to pay the annual fee for the first year. The interest rate is high, but I pay my credit card off in full each fortnight so I don't pay any interest. This credit...Read more
card is worth my while because I shop at Myer at least once a month, and the Myer visa card + MyerOne membership works out to a 3% return on money spent at Myer. Negatives - The online service centre is not always accessible (dodgy server?). It also takes a few days for purchases and payments to show up on the site. One thing I have noticed is that it does not keep a running tally of MyerOne points accumulated in the month to date. I only find out how many points I have accrued when they are transferred over to my MyerOne account on the last day of the month. The maximum accrual of 2,000 MyerOne points per month on the Myer visa (=$20 gift card) is ridiculously low. Overall I would recommend the Myer visa card for people who pay their credit card off in full each month and like shopping at Myer. low annual fee, good customer service, high reward ratio for money spent online service centre a bit too basic, low limit on points able to be accrued per monthSimilar opinion? Never see anything from Myer visa card better than another card.
Firstly I applied this card because one staff at Myer said you will get many reward from Myer visa card and will get 50$ back when you buy any product from Myer next time and present your voucher. But after I start use this card I found many problem.
1. I never get any 50$ debit from my statement.
2. You never know how much you spent from the card until your statement come and you find that you spent over limit and they charged you an interest.
3. You need to pay for statement.
4. Even you pay your bill within due date as show on statement ...Read more
but I still have to pay for interest because customer service said to me" you paid on Friday but the system get information on next working day is Monday, whatever I have to pay for interest. And new statement still have balance from last statement add with new amount I spent. I don't know if they don't count weekend but why they put the due date on the weekend, and from last bill to new statement that 1 month but still don't cut off balance from last statement that I already paid for. If I didn't see the detail of what each amount come from I may pay for all again. 5. Statement is very hard to understand. 6. I decided to closed this card on 8 August11 but around 22Aug11 I got new statement that shown I still have .50 balance to pay them. This amount is for paper statement that they issue on 9 August11. I think this card so terrible and don't have a good system many mistake and silly. Easy to apply Bad system, many mistakes, not good customer service, cheating

Don't sign up for this card. You will have nothing but problems and endless hours on the phone trying to rectify any issues. They don't honour their own policies.
MyerVisa stole my money when I cancelled. They will steal yours too. A very good reason to avoid this card.
I signed up for thousands of points and I didn't get them. Sales person lied.
Online access is poor. Need to reset passwords monthly. They Charge paper statement fees.
MyerVisa refused to cancel my card when it was in Credit balance. They don't send cheques.
MyerVisa doesn't honour their policies. They refused to refund any pro rata annual fee when cancelling the card. They effectively STOLE my money with NO remorse.

they are also quite stingy when it comes to waiving fees.
will definitely think twice about staying with them next year.
convenience of paying bills in myer stores.
said to provide lots of reward points and vouchers.. haven't reached the first quarter yet so i can't tell how good the perks are at this stage
- need to pay for paper statements
- signed up for the card based on the promotion that I would get $50 back if I applied by 13 January 2011. received first bill and did NOT see any credit given back to me. rang up customer service and t...Read more

Beware this is UP TO 62 days interest free. With major emphasis on UP TO. Reality is it's more like 28 days interest free. Of course you don't find this out till you've applied.
Customer service very hit and miss. A couple of people were nice but then today I got a real jerk. No other way to put it. I felt like I was being told off but I was just asking how the up to 62 days ie how many days do I get?
Also voice recognition (so they can put you through to the right department) doesn't work very well/very limited in terms of what y...Read more
ou can say. Very frustrating. I think I'm going to cancel my card. I pay off my statement every month but the rewards are not worth the poor customer service. Good service is priceless and I'm getting that with my bank's credit card. It has no rewards but I'm not putting up with Myer Visa. I suppose some might say the rewards but the customer service voice prompt is exaperating when you just want to speak to a person Misleading as it's UP TO 62 days interest free but you have no way of knowing how many days till you sign up.Similar opinion? The MYER gift card rewards program is great, but unfortunatly the finance is provided by GE and as advised above the service, funds management, and staff able to resolve issues = 100 % FAIL! I am cancelling my card asap.
Just to clarify, i have no problems at all with MYER, the problems are purely from GE.
DO NOT DEAL WITH GE MONEY!!
I love the rewards program, gift cards are very much achievable, and are sent out frequently. You also receive various other offers from MYER as a bonus.

Don't be lured by promotions or at least make sure that the employees at MYER know what they are supposed to do so that you get the benefits. I definitely don't recommend the product altogether.
I was initially attracted to this product by the rewards system and the running promotion. The advertised bonuses were 4000 loyalty points, no fees for the first year and a $50 voucher if you make a purchase at MYER on the day of application for the credit card (which is linked to your MYER One card).
I didn't get any of the above mentioned bonuses. I r...Read more

Bad
I think that the Myers visa card is stupid card which has been well and truly beaten by the David Jones credit card. But it does have its uses. I shred my new Myers credit card when it arrives and I only use the Myers credit card number to pay my school fees each month which gives me $240 - (12 months x $20) of Myers gift cards free each year, less the $39 annual fee cost of the card. So I make $201 profit each year out of Myers by shredding my Myers credit card when it arrives! I use my David Jones credit card to shop everywhere else, includin...Read more
g Myers, where I use my Myers 1 card to add another 2% discount to the 1.1% that my DJ card gives me at Myers, making 3.1% discount in total. High spenders need to spend approximately $9,100 outside DJ or $7,000 inside DJ, or a mix of both to cover the $99 DJ annual fee. After that spend they will be getting a 1.5% discount inside DJ and a 1.1% discount outside DJ on everything they spend. – Double in the first six months! It would even be more cost effective to use the DJ card at Myers instead of the Myers Visa card which would only give you a 1% discount at Myers. DJ give you 10% more discount at Myers than Myers own credit card does!!! Also the DJ points are not capped whereas the Myers points are capped outside Myers at only 2,000 points ($20 gift card). But although the DJ card is much better than the Myers credit card, it is still cheaper to shop at Myers, because the DJ card only gives me 1.5% discount at DJ but the DJ card plus the Myers 1 card gives me 3.1% discount at Myers. I spend approximately $8,500 per year at Myers, so in total I get approximately an extra $464.50 discount per year at Myers (including my profit on the school fees), plus additional discount at DJ and outside DJ giving me approximately a thousand dollars of free Myers and DJ gift cards each year. So as I say, the Myers card is second rate compared to the DJ card, but you need to have both. You can get $20 (max) gift cards per month. The 2,000 per month cap is ridiculous.Similar opinion? Good
Myer Visa card offers generous reward points equal to 3 points for every dollar spent in Myer stores (after taken into account Myer One points) or 1 point for purchase anywhere else (maximum 2,000 points per month). These reward points will be automatically converted to a $20 Myer gift card when they reach 2,000. For a cardholder with annual spending $10 – 20 thousand, this offer is better than DJ Amex Card because eventhough DJ Amex gives more points per dollar spending, the high annual fee ultimately reduces the attractiveness of the reward....Read more
As comparison, $20,000 spending outside of the department store, will give a Myer card holder $161 worth of Myer card (after $39 annual fee) and will give a DJ AMEX card holder $126.56 worth of DJ card. Very attractive reward points (at least 1% of purchase value). Up to 62 days interest free on purchase. No hassle to claim reward points (Myer will automatically send a gift card when the points reach 2,000 or more). Reasonable annual fee ($39 for membership fee and $9 for supplementary card). Limited choices for gift points redemption (no choice other than Myer gift cards).Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Excellent
The card works very well for me. It's a treat to get a voucher in the mail, which happens every 3 months. So far I've paid no interest, and use it for absolutely every purchase including petrol. With the link to the Myer One card I the points add up quickly.
I'm able to use this card wherever I shop because it's Visa, unlike the American Express card I used to have which was not accepted by all businesses. I benefit from the rewards system: last quarter I got a $40 voucher, simply for using the card to pay for bills, groceries and services eg r...Read more

Low annual fee and rewards program is great. This is the only reason to keep this card.
Customer service they provide are very unprofessional and disappointing. They once deactivated my card by mistake and when I asked them that why I am having problem with using my card, one of the staff said to me 'I don't know why'... This is just not good enough. Their service makes me feel that I don't want to make a big purchase with this card - they are not reliable and hopeless to solve problems.
Great rewards system.
VERY poor customer service. Points capped for purchase outside of Myer store.

I use my myer visa credit card for nearly EVERY purchase i make so i can take advantage of the points system. This would be the best card if it didn't have such a high annual fee or if it didn't cap the points but other than that it is good value for money. I just received my $40 giftcard from the last quarter.
Good rewards value if you spend a lot of money. 62 interest free days are good. Just pay off your balance every month and you wont have to worry about interest rates.
Capped points. Wish the annual fee was a bit lower. You have to spend lots to make it worthwhile

i love some of the special offers I receive. interest rate is quite high though at almost 20%! The great thing is that it has up to 62 days interest free giving you longer to pay off your purchase before interest is charged. can be used for interest free promotions on electrical etc during promotion periods. rewards are very easy to claim.
great rewards system. the biggest benefit is that you can get up to 62 days interest free on this card which beats the banks!
capped points - they limit how many rewards you can earn. interest rate is almost 20%

Good
I would recommend a Myer Visa Credit Card to a mature person who knows how to budget and live within their means. The high interest rates would be catastrophic to anyone else if you didnt always pay your card in full when its due.
Love the Myer Visa Credit card. The interest is high but if you pay off the amount you owe in full and within the specified time then there is no interest at all. Its like any other credit card. Having a credit card shouldn't be about living beyond your means but managing with what you have. I love the rewards pro...Read more

Please tell me how to cancel my card?
1 answer
After much stress due to.ignorance over switch to Latitude Affinity, I rang up Myer Customer service, and got them to cancel my card. They had sent me a LA Visa card, which I didn't even use or activate, and because I hadn't closed my Myer Visa account after paying my outstanding payments, they tried to get $89 out of me for having the bloody Latitude card. So do yourself a BIG favor, get rid of Myer.

Can Myer Visa Card be used in United States? If so, will points still be added? Are there any fees associated with overseas use?
1 answer
My travels have not taken me to US since I changed to Myer Credit card but I have used it in Europe, New Caledonia & New Zealand without any problems and from memory I have received points for my transactions. There are charges as with all cards, for overseas use, but not unreasonable. The customer service centre has always been very helpful whenever I have needed to speak to them so give then a call & they will be able to give you an accurate answer. Sorry I couldn't be of more help. Enjoy your holiday!
