Very bad customer service!! waste of time!!
Applied for the card called the customer service next day ID and income were verified and got the approval
called after few days to chase up /track my card and it's been the worst customer service I had ever with longest call duration 45 minutes!!
I spoke to 4 persons every one was asking for my details, application number and my inquiry then she tells me that they will get my data from the system and put me on hold for about 10 minutes before I find my self speaking with another person who has no idea about my inquiry and asking me the same ...Read more
questions again and put me through other person to talk to!!!! I 've been over the phone for more than 45 minutes just for one simple question "where is my card?" just keep in mind that I am speaking to AMEX ultimate card customer service which I was expecting to get better customer service form the big name but unfortunately not. what a waste of time !!! Also, this customer service centre is in Philippines and the voice was breaking and the people you talk to are not good enough to provide the minimal customer service level !!! Honestly, I never had this type of customer service with my ANZ credit card before. They have been always providing me with a fantastic level of customer service every time and I never needed to spend more than few minutes even in more complex issues including card replacements, refunds of unauthorised/fraud transactions and cancelling my card. In ANZ credit card service, they are on 7 days a week. They also offered me another year with $0 annual fees but I chose to cancel it which I regret it !!! I don't think I am having a good start with AMEX anyway . Seriously thinking of canceling this card and back to ANZ.- Everyday Expenses

Only worth it if you travel
This card has a very big annual fee of $450. You do get $450 Qantas Travel Credit. So if you don't travel very much then it's of little use to you. In our case we travel a lot so it's all good.

Maybe one of the best Qantas FF rewards card
The only down side is the annual fee is high and it can become credit to spend on flight for qantas only and spend at amex travel only. If you travel at least twice or more at annual basis probably this card is for you. Spending on this card is accumulating points 25% faster and auto redeem to your QFF monthly. Booking thru amex travel is easy and their customer service is brilliant, don't be shy to contact their CS team if you can't find the flight that you after online, and best of all they charge the same as any flight merchant (only that amex has coop with) offer at their website. The best of all, it comes with 4x lounge accesses (2x Amex, 2x Qantas). To get the QFF lounge access, you have to spend QF ticket direct from Qantas website.

Great bonus points and extras
Easy to use. 100,000 bonus points credited as soon as minimum spend. Travel credit covers cost of annual fee. Would highly recommend this card to anyone who loves to travel

Pretty good except for steep annual fee
The annual fee is $450 but you do get $450 to put towards flights (on the Amex website, which I havent tried personally). Used overseas, worked fine. Points go to your account every month automatically.

Great for shoppers
Negs: $450 annual fee. Pros: good sign up bonus points, good referral points, great in app offers. Great if you are in to shopping, the offers are enough to pay off the annual fee. + the points wasn’t adequately cover it.

A card that doesn’t cost a cent!
Annual fee offset by travel credit, essentially a free card. The cash back offers have proven handy. Good customer support and application process was a breeze. A great card to get you to your next trip sooner!

This is all you need
I have used this card for about 3 months. It has been good. Havent had any issues. I havent used this card overseas, i would prefer using a Travel card purely for security reasons.
Everything is online so transferring money between accounts is simple. The frequent flyer points is pretty good. i spend a lot, therefore i get a lot of points. Highly recommend

Great card to earn Qantas frequent flyers
AMEX have been very easy to deal with. The card was approved quickly and when I had a fraudulent transaction they dealt with it with only one phone call and a reversal within 24 hours. You can earn points when paying the ATO which is very rare nowadays with credit cards. Higher than normal annual fee but the ability to then get $450 credit on travel makes this card very appealing. You need to book your flights through the Amex travel agent but the prices are very similar if not the same as if you did it yourself. You have the use the whole amo...Read more
unt in one go though so if you only use $300 you will forfeit the remainder $150. I did not transfer a balance to this card so not sure how easy this would be. The frequent flyer award points make this card one of the best cards to use for large purchases. They automatically go into my frequent flyer account each month- Everyday Expenses

Good but AMEX is not accepted most of the places I go
The card itself is great. It has a decent point earning rate (1.25 for standard purchase), $450 travel credit, 2 amex lounges (given annually) and 2 Qantas lounge invites (if you purchase something from Qantas) per year. It also has some pretty huge bonus points upon sign up during promotional period (100,000 points). The only huge let down for me that will make me switch card after 1 year is that AMEX is just not accepted at MOST of the places I go to. I get it, many fancy restaurants, or big places will accept AMEX but I don't go to a lot of ...Read more
fancy places. I go KFC, local restaurants, drink coffee and milk teas, and I'd say 8 of 10 places I go don't accept AMEX. I will switch card just because of this reason alone. The Pro: - $450 travel credit to spend on AMEX travel per year - 100,000 bonus sign up points during promotional period - 2 AMEX lounges per year - 2 Qantas lounge invites per year (provided you purchase something from Qantas) - Good earn rate (1.25 per $ for standard purchases) The Con:- Everyday Expenses

Decent Card if Combined with Signup Bonus Points
The Qantas Ultimate Amex is a decent card to have when combined with bonus points on signup. It is best to wait for the 100,000 Qantas sign-up bonus points offers that appear every few months (unfortunately I did not realise this until after I signed up and only got 50,000 points).
The $450 Qantas Travel Credit is meant to offset the annual $450 card fee (but I place its real value below its face value). Nevertheless the credit is easy to use on Qantas flights (through the Amex Travel Website). I have not used the card for balance transfers o...Read more
r for overseas spending but I would avoid doing this as the 3% foreign transaction fee is very high compared to many other cards out there. The points earn rate is relatively high (1.25 points/$ on most spending apart from Gov) compared to VISA and MasterCard Offerings from most banks (which are typically 0.75 points/$ or less). The points appear as soon as transactions go from pending to processed and are swept into your Qantas Frequent Flyer account once a month (like most other cards) where they can be used on Qantas flights and other things. Phone service is usually excellent regardless of whether you are contacting AmEx's Australian or Philippines call centres. Overall I would recommend this card if you are able to get a good sign-up bonus with it.- Everyday Expenses

Quality card and effectively no annual fee
Never had any issues with this card. The Qantas points transfer automatically each month, and can be used for flight redemptions etc. The $450 annual card fee is returned as an annual credit to use for Qantas flights – so basically free.

Great credit cards with perks
Fabulous credit card that comes with lots of offers, if you are a qantas frequent flyer member then it's a plus to add points and probably one of the most generous to gain points, the only downside and why i gave 4 stars probably is the annually fee $450/yr and you're logged in to use as qantas flight credit only, if buying under value ticket the balance credit will be forfeited. Their customer service level in overall experience so far is great, and booking travel thru amex website can do price match as well to merchants offer. So pretty much ...Read more
win-win to me. Thus, the best of all is that this card comes with 2x AMEX complementary lounge entries per calendar year and 2x Qantas lounge per anniversary year with purchase made thru qantas. If you live in Oz and travel a lot, in my opinion, this card is must have credit card.- Everyday Expenses

Excellent for frequent QF travellers, good customer service
Great for QF/Jetstar/One Alliance frequent travellers and Qantas Club members, as substantial sign-up bonus and $450 flight credit each year (sometimes promoted with two digipasses to Qantas Club). The call centre staff are attentive and really helpful, have waived late fees due to customer contact. The app and website can be a little clunky to navigate with use for travel bookings, however worth using even purely as payment method for the travel insurance applied to relevant transactions and decent QF points accrued.

Great sign-up bonus, helpful support
I earned 100,000 bonus Qantas points on signup with a $3000 minimum spend, plus the card itself has a good earning rate. On top of that you can get 40,000 referral points if you refer a friend (like I did). Application process is really easy (almost too easy!).
Customer support has been great. Only thing to keep in mind is that the automatic repayments take a while to set up so it's worth making your first payment manually. However overall very happy!

Expensive but packed full of features
The big item is the fee for $450 is the card worth it? I say yes.
$450 flight credit (although can only been used once) offsets my fee.
Qantas points per spend is the highest available.
But the main benefit is the spend and save, lots of promotions during the year, but they seem to be getting smaller and smaller every year.
The card has apple pay, which I love and can never go back from.

Great card with solid benefits
Very useful card with great bonus point rewards, currently 100000 qantas points. Points are credited very quickly and I had no problems claiming the bonus points after the minimum spend. Lounge passes and travel credit also good.
Customer service also very good.
Cons are that Amex not accepted everywhere and high yearly fees.

Great credit card for earning points
Always had a good experience using amex credit cards. Great initial bonus of 100,000 points, however with an annual fee of 450 dollars. You do get that back with travel credit though
