MYOB Payroll
As I only use the banking function and payroll it seems to get easier to use each time there is an update. The technical support is excellent especially if you have the maintenance contract.

No problem with product -only access to tech support.
Once again access to Tech Support remains a challenge for MYOB, making it less attarctive to market MYOB PRODUCTS AND SERVICES. Consider improving response times to attacket more clients to MYOB.

Been trying to sort out a problem for weeks no one rings back.

Forced upgrade
MYOB lock us out of our files "due to the age of the software", claiming we need to upgrade to a SaaS product. It means we have to call them at least once a year to get the files unlocked. Poor marketing

Old and Clunky now.
Needs to get up to date with proper cloud accounting status. The interminable updates are not necessary - just write the software properly in the first place and automatically do sensible updates.

Great Customer Support
Once I finally managed to speak to someone by phone (took well over 1.5 hrs, but then we are in lockdown and everyone is having to manage as best as they can at present), the help I received was much better than trying to get support online. We managed to sort out all the queries I had. Many thanks.

An important accounting tool

MYOB Essential Payroll Essential to find another product
Tried to use MYOB essential payroll for STP. Currently it has failed to do the only thing it is supposed to do and that is single touch payroll.
Trying to set it up yields:
Something went wrong
Try refreshing your browser
If the issue persists, contact MYOB support
spent hours and hours on the phone to MYOB support who cant fix it.
Tried to cancel the subscription, and after waiting an hour was told that department has just closed and to call back tomorrow

ut was told that I could upgrade to AccountRight. All the forums I had visited didn't share that you could get a desktop version of the software and that you would have to use the online version. I was told that I could use the upgrade as a desktop version if that's what I preferred, I was walked through the process of downloading the software and installing it on my computer and customer service person was very patient and nothing was too much trouble. I have installed the software and is about to use the software, I have done a quick check, it looks like all the data file migrated correctly, so I was very happy with my experience thanksSimilar opinion? MYOB Upgrades Over Time = Major Downgrades
I have been a long-term user of MYOB AccountRight - +15 years.
It used to be a pretty good product - certainly better than competitors - but that has just about flipped around over time with the exception of report options.
Every upgrade seems to come with a new set of issues, that often lead to the same outcome - corrupted files, lost work, lost time.
Good luck getting help from "customer service"! You can often spend at least an hour on hold, and the one nice person here and there is lost in a sea of rude, dismissive, incompetent CSR's.

If MYOB hadn't dropped support for mac users I wouldn't have this problem. I cannot upgrade my mac software and so am presented with a number of expensive alternatives. Once again you have disregarded mac users. I remember when MYOB was cross platform.

1st Class Customer Service
Having to update my MYOB because of changes to payroll STP I found the Customer Contact person not only helpful but patient and understanding with someone who is not a computer expert. She actually installed the program for me by accessing my computer as I was having problems downloading. She was polite and knew exactly what to do, making my point of contact with MYOB seamless.

I need a report that shows GST detail with all sales and purchases in the month. MYOB has suggested I run 3 reports for this and not one of them gives me any of the info I need.
I need to be able to reconcile the figures in MYOB back to my BAS statement so I need to filter down to the individual transactions....I am using MYOB Essentials with Payroll

Hi Mary, the GST detailed report will based on tax codes listed on the transaction. If you are running that for an accrual basis it will show you all the transactions for that month.
If you are on an cash basis, the report will show all the payment transactions. As it's reporting on the payments it may not be reporting all those transactions recorded within the month i.e. invoice was recorded in the month but the payment has not come in until the following month. As such, you may need to combine this report with an accrual based GST detailed report to get a full list of transactions recorded in that period.

What does the Error message "Account Max Level"mean?

I'm not good with myob I get help from a friend who is an account, but I think it could be that you have a limit of how many accounts you have started in MYOB think the max is 4. eg personal account, buisness account, sports club account if you are a secretary doing the club accounts. hope that helps. someone else may help more sorry.
