The Worst Experience..

I applied for a Personal loan and its conditionally approved. I upload all the requested documents and i got call from the verification team, they told all good and i will receive an SMS and EMAIL within 15 minutes. So i can sign the documents and accept it but after that, i didn't receive any response from the NAB team. I tried to contact few times them but they saying its still processing and they won't allow to talk with the verification team. So arrogant customer service people. I am an existing customer to NAB but not going to deal with them anymore. I applied with another bank and already receive the money. Say Thanks to Nab for providing wonderful service.

Worst banking experience of our lives

Whole painful process took almost 3 weeks. After initial application phone call (which is a whole other bad experience in itself) could get no one to answer any of our questions, always told "someone will call you back". No one ever did! Finally found someone helpful that we could email, called us with updates. Told YES approved by credit department will just take a few days for paperwork.....2 days later.....You have been declined. Um? Seriously? No explanation as to why we had been approved 2 days earlier, never given the chance to plead our case. Approved by another bank in 1 day. Will be moving all our banking from NAB now and will never be dealing with them again.

Very very terrible service and misguidance

Nab staff apologise all the time instead of fixing the issue. Unprofessional and untrained staff. Put me on hold for more than 1hour.

Absolutely disgraceful

Applied for a personal loan with them and took 1 day for pre approval to be sent and after numerous phone calls and emailing statements to be told by the lending specialists that everything was in and all looked good to then be told again weeks later that they needed more information again.... 3 months down the track I was given a decline on the loan which was appalling again as it was a joint application but only informed the one person, I am disgusted at the way they operate their loan situation and their level of conduct is an absolute lie as to what it says on their website... we have been with them for 20 years and to be treated like this .... there are much better banks out there that actually do help people....

Applied for a personal loan of about $6000, so a very low amount. I have only recently started banking with NAB but have elected to keep the majority of my funds in a bank I am happy with.
Was Informed it will take 2-4 business days to get back to me, only to get what looks like an auto generated email saying I don't meet their lending criteria, and no other contact.. what happened to the days of someone calling and asking for further information or at least specifying what lending criteria I don't meet. I'm not annoyed that I didn't get the loan, but to not ask for any information or tell me why I don't meet their criteria is just plain useless for me. Thanks for the zero help!

Time to change banks

Instant approval over phone. 3 emails and 3 text messages wanting documents emailed and then nothing for 2 weeks after sending documents. Phoned 3 over 4 days getting the run around. Phoned one last time to wait 35 minutes passed on to 3 people and 1 hour later cut off. Been nice banking with you for 16 years nab. Im done with you!!

Slow and Clunky

I was sent a letter in the mail offering me a same day personal loan with a promotional number to save me 1%. I applied over the phone and was approved. I then sent all my documents through. All of their loans get shipped offshore to India for approval. This process took two weeks. Numerous excuses as to why this took so long. They then wanted further documents. Too slow and too much documentation. I told them to put my application on hold. Went through another bank and had the funds in the account within 48 hours.

its took 2 weeks to get the approval. After the approval still waiting for the documents for the sign.6 days now for the documents .still didn't received it.Rang 3 time for the customer services team all of them are saying it won't take too long 24 hours to 48 hours.But still didn't receive the documents to sign.Very slow service.Better to go with another bank.

My mrs applied for a minimum amount. Branch ok'd everything and insisted yep everything looks good. She got stable income, her salary comes into nab account every fortnight, clean credit history.After ringing for 5 days finally got an answer That she got declined. After chasing for the reason, bank gave us the most un realistic reason that she isn't permanent resident. Gave them copy of every proof from the immigration department, then started giving us other false excuses.
Just wanted to warn people, stay away from them. Very unfair.

NAB were great in helping me to consolidate a debt with another lender that had a massive interest rate that was killing me. I was approved within two days and had the paperwork signed within 1 1/2 weeks of applying. The only downside was dealing with the verifications team in India as they were a little hard to understand but were friendly and helpful.
