Highly recommend do not buy this product
The unit has not work for more than one day Freezes all the time screen will not refresh. I have missed that many turns since I have had it. I can only use it as a camera, If I dare try to use the navigation the screen freezes

Excellent service provided
The camera of the head unit failed after nearly two years.
I contacted Navman (Hazel) via email and followed her recommended and suggested fixes. Although Hazel was very friendly and helpful, the fixes were not successful.
I returned the head unit from Canberra to Sydney on a Thursday. A new head unit arrived the following Tuesday. Can't ask for better service than that.
Congratulations NAVMAN.

Very Poor Device - Steer Clear
What a saga. I'm on my third DUO SUV in 7 months, not one has worked properly - they all froze and refused to work, the refresh rates are terribly slow and the lane warning never worked properly and gave continuous false alarms. All units were replaced by Navman with a comment from the technician that the unit was faulty and needed replacing. It appears that they have a serious problem with this unit. it commenced to work again. The advice I was given was to keep pushing the reset button. On the first two units the reset button failed to correct the freeze. However if I have to push the reset button every time I start the car engine up I will be a very disappointed consumer - this is so impractical. I have another cheaper Navman and it works fine, but not the DUO SUV. The third new unit I have received this year has a screen that is difficult to see in daylight (this was not present in the first two DUO SUV's I had). I have taken pictures of this screen next to my other cheaper model Navman and sent the photo's to prove the difference. Their support is poor, because I think they know they have a dud in this particular model. Navman have replied and informed me that my latest DUO SUV is operating correctly albeit I can hardly see the screen and nothing more will be done. I have only written this review after giving Navman every possible opportunity to help the consumer. They have failed, so I need to inform the public to be wary of this model Navman.Purchased in March 2021 for $450.00.

Heap of crap, (keeps freezing)
Heap of crap, (keeps freezing), buy another brand, save the frustration. Bought it 2mths ago for a trip, over the 6000kms covered it worked for maybe 1500kms. Updated it tried again back in Brisbane froze 10 times over 45min journey. I found it outright dangerous, as I was focused on the frozen screen instead of the road.

Device is okay. Customer support is spotty.
This device is pretty much the same device as the My Esacpe IV, with the addition of a camera or two. In my case two, as I got a rear camera installed. (That will had a huge extra cost in parts and installation).
Rear camera installation is not easy, as the design of the cables was not thought through, making it impossible to keep the cables tidy. (Rear camera is NOT wireless).
As far as the rest of the device, the camera footage is okay, but you cannot combine the visuals of the front and rear camera, in spite of the demo videos on Youtube. ...Read more
You will have to watch front and rear separately, either on your computer, or while you are driving. The viewing software is not great. One frustration is the corporate policy of map transfers. If you have paid money for an International map on and older device (eg MyEscape IV), it is money down the drain when you upgrade to a new device (eg Duo 2), even if the devices are so similar. They expect you to fork out all over again. End of life for the device means end of life for the software in it. Imagine buying a new computer and paying all again for the Office software as you cannot transfer software from one to another. Will I recommend this device? It works okay, but Navman overseas phone support leaves much to be desired and can be frustrating.Purchased in April 2021 at Repco for $270.00.

Regarding the international map and wanting to transfer it to another device, i do apologise but we are unable to do that for you, as we purchase the mapping data from a third party supplier, we then turn that mapping data into a map our products can read, each map has a map key and once that key is activated it is tied to that specific devices mother board, this is all captured automatically on a server, which we then pay our mapping provider based on the map keys activated per device. which makes them nontransferable, I am sorry Thank you for your review, and we value your feedback The Navman TeamSimilar opinion? For the cost useless
Have had this unit for 1year now been sent to Navman three tines now 1st time camera stopped working and Navman replaced unit 2nd time screen freezing when on a route but doesn't freeze when just normal sent back Navman sent back saying they updated software next time after same thing sent back to me saying nothing wrong but away this time when on set route unit freezes for up to 5 minutes then catches up then freezes again and unit gets very hot
Will try sending back again or will just trash

Waste of money
I found that it would not turn on when starting our journey. I would do it manualy sometimes it would stay on, sometimes not . I found myself taking it out of the vehicle and charging it in the home still finding it would do the same. This is continual charge all the way through !

Hopeless
The first one died and JB replaces it very quickly (suggests it’s commonplace). But, it’s rubbish nevertheless. Often locks up showing the navman screen. Tells you about cameras on roads you’re not on!? Gets the distance to objects completely wrong, like it doesn’t know what speed you’re doing. Just yesterday it told me about a camera 20Metres away whilst I was doing 100kmh and the actual camera was 150m behind!? It won’t allow you to turn off the stupid lane deviation/ collision warning “feature” off!? This gps is a total pile of junk!
Btw the 4WD maps are almost non-existent and rubbish when they do exist.

Needs further development.
I purchased this unit in January 2018 for a specific task during a trip in central Australia in August 2018. The unit work flawlessly whilst on nice smooth road surfaces for the first 3 months or so & then the bugs started to show up, unit failed to switch on even with a full battery, sometimes it would freeze just after start up.
The journey up through SA & in to NT was plagued with issues with the GPS device, several times hard re-sets had to be done to get the unit to power up & work accordingly.
Not overly impressed by this unit, could do with some further development especially in the are of off road stability.
Looks like I maybe returning it for a more substantial device.

Don't buy this GPS/Dashcam
I purchased a 6" Navman DUO SUV because it had dashcam and GPS all in the one unit. IMO this unit is a big letdown. I have 2 Garmin GPS and they have good clearly defined screen maps with white background and coloured wide roads with roads in large print and clearly defined. Not so the Navman, grey background, narrow roads, and small print for the roads. None of the 5 options to change the screen fixes the problem. The directions are absolutely hopeless. It freezes frequently.
I bought it several months ago but rarely use it as it often not reliable and unresponsive than our google maps on the phones. There are several issues some which were outlined on other reviews. The one most annoying is that if you turn it on without starting the engine. It starts. If you then switch on the engine it just shuts off or freezes, there is nothing you can do to power it up or reset it. You must have to unplug it so it completely runs out of battery thereby unfreezes itself.......
Screen is also extremely hard to see under daylight.
Video or photo taken can’t be played back. It keep saying no data.
I really regret buying it now as it’s is such painful experience using it.

In relation to the screen, please ensure you have the brightness turned up. some users have found this resolves the issue of the screen being hard to see. we are also working on different themes to help enhance this. This is the most useless navigational device on the market, do not buy.
It will direct you through private property retirement villages gardens and parks four-wheel drive tracks unsuitable for cars has no idea, this product should be withdrawn from the market.
I am on my second one replacement through warranty just as useless as the first one.
At least this one has a voice that speaks proper English not some stupid robotic voice that speaks a pigeon English

Don't Bother - stick with a cheap Asian import
Bought this unit 9 months ago and I have to say I'm very disappointed on so many fronts. At the outset I need to mention that I usually buy cheap no-name GPS units on eBay which run for a year and then I just replace them with a better featured model, so my review is based on years of personal experience with these cheap no-name units.
Let's start with the navigation performance... TERRIBLE!! The processing power in this unit is definitely under-powered, the built in search engine does not have the smarts that the cheaper GPS units have and ...Read more
will often not find what you're looking for, so it's quicker to search on your smartphone to find the address and then enter it into the unit. When navigating it has moments where it just pauses for a few seconds, especially after you've taken a suggested turn, it seems to take a few seconds to regain it's position; I'm talking about driving on suburban highways and roads where GPS signal is very strong, not inner city & CBD where most GPS units suffer. The other problem is that when you go into a tunnel it just freezes until it finds GPS signal again, unlike the cheaper models that recognise you are in a tunnel (based on mapped route) and keep directing you at the last known speed so you have an idea where you are going to exit, but no, this one just freezes until it finds GPS signal and then takes it's time to get back on track, by which time it's too late because you've already probably taken the wrong exit :( The other problems with this unit relate to usability with the interface which is slow and sometimes unresponsive. Updating the lifetime maps is equally a pain, the Navman servers are excruciatingly slow and you'll be retrying for ages before you actually get your maps to update. We are glad to inform you that you may view your map while a recording is ongoing. This is due to by default, your device will record automatically once turned on. At the bottom left part of the map screen, the video camera icon should have a red dot in the middle. This indicates that a recording is ongoing.
