Motor doesn't last
Vp300 series. First one lasted two years then motor gave up. I had got on very well with all flooring. I purchased another one. This 300hepa has only lasted 21months. On off switch cost $100 to repair 6 weeks ago now the motor has given up. I only use it 8 hrs a weeks. Unless your prepared to buy a new one every twenty months don't buy it. Very disappointed with Nilfisk and made in China.

Find out how Nilfisk VP300 HEPA compares to other Commercial Vacuum Cleaners
Know better, choose better.
Best machine ever.
It is the best machine I've ever had. I'm 60. I have had it for two years. Home use only. It sucked up dust from renovations. It has an industrial filter system. Suction is still as strong as when I bought it. Light weight. It has an extra long cord.

Oke for this price range, but could be better
I've now have the Nilfisk VP300 Hepa for over a month an i must say it is what you would expect from a Nilfisk vacuum cleaner in this price range. I have a cleaning business in the Netherlands and well i have used a lot of different vacuum cleaners over the years. The Nilfisk VP300 Hepa is in my opinion best suited for small offices and homes. And It does what it needs to do. Compared to a Nilfisk GD1010 it doesn't even come close in terms of suction power. But lets be hones it is Much Cheaper than a GD1010.
In this Price range it is a euro/d...Read more

Nilfisk compared with my expensive Dyson
I have had a dyson and thought that was the best, but having now used a Nilfisk 300 I have found the commercial unit to be far better in endurance and suction than even a dyson which surprised me. A friend just bought one and we compared each at my house on similiar rooms. I think Dyson are good and marketed well but Nilfisk good job powerful compact and nice and quiet, easy to change bag too.

Really terrible vaccuum
The HEPA VP300 seems to be designed only for smooth flooring (wood, marble etc), it is really terrible on carpet surfaces. This vacuum has nothing on Hoover's Henry Vacuum cleaner. I also notice specifically that it is not entirely a closed system, meaning there are gaps in the tube allowing air to flow out. The suction is poor, you can get the same suction from a 99 AUD Hoover Performer 3010. I am not even a huge Hoover fan while writing this review, that shows how bad it is

This is a real Vacuum Cleaner
The nilfisk vp300 hepa is a commercial quality machine at a retail price. I bought it on line from vacuumspot for $279 plus $14.80 delivery charge. Why did i buy a commercial machine for an ordinary suburban (but quite large) house? Simply unhappy with the usability of the normal harvey norman variety of vacuum cleaner.
I bought a nilfisk gm90 for $579 in 1993. Now was that a machine. It's still going and i have just bought a new hose for it (for a holiday house). 6 months or so ago, we bought a new miele s5311 for $380, which was ok,...Read more
but fiddly and fancy. It gets 4.5 star rating on this site though. Hard to dis-attach tools, awkward to change bags etc, but anyway this is a review about the nilfisk vp300. But you can see i was predisposed to nilfisk and (through experience) slightly anti, the standard (and expensive) retail machines. The vp300 is classified as a commercial machine, so has a long, long cord and a huge capacity 10 litre replaceable bag (just like the gm90), easily 2 or 3 times larger than the miele or similar retail machines. The vp300hepa has huge suction power, but note this is all or nothing, no fancy variable speed motor which you can get on retail machines. The power rating is only 1200 watts (the miele up to 2300 watts). But it just shows that technical specifications are useless by themselves. The design is everything. The nilfisk outperforms the miele on hard surfaces and carpets (we have a long haired black german shepherd). It just sucks up the hairs, so much more effective than the miele, even though we have just changed the bag on the miele. The various tools which come with the vp300 are all commercial quality and made of really good materials, so they work! Makes cleaning our house roughly twice as fast as the miele. A word on hepa - this is a standard that defines the amount of dust that gets filtered out - so doesn't simply put it back into the air when you are vacuuming. Now if you are looking for a tiny vacuum cleaner where you can store all the tools in the machine, and the cord vanishes away inside, then the vp300 is not for you. There is no retractable cord. This for me is a positive, but if you live in a one bedroom apartment and space is like gold dust, then by all means buy something else. This nilfisk is about getting the job done, not the space it occupies. Though interestingly it uses roughly the same space in our broom cupboard!3 comments

I'm looking for a new vacuum now that my 21 yr old GM90 gave out today. Have been told by spare parts/appliance shop workers the Nilfisk of today are nothing compared to our previous beauties, are u still loving the VP300?
