We recently traded our 2013 Commodore VF SportWagon in on a Pathfinder R52 ST-L with the optional Tech kit (Bose, extra cameras etc).

A few quick observations:
The ride is nice. Not too firm. Comfortable and spacious interior, even when 7-up. Ample power and performance is spritely considering the 2-ton weight of the car. You have to ignore the horrible CVT gearbox. It really is awful.

Purchased in 2014 as we were having our third child to accommodate the growing family. Have had problems right from start. Transmission problems developed in a year and transmission replaced, later vehicle was recalled for fixing a manufacturing defect with bonnet, has had electronic faults with fuel gauge malfunction, fuel door not closing and later the seats cracking and getting ripped. We bought a Nissan Pathfinder TI 4x4 Hybrid around a year or so ago- and for the most part it's actually been a pretty good car in itself. i read some reviews about issues with gearboxes etc but we didn't have any of those.

Within first few months (less than a year) found water leaking from roof onto front passenger floor resulting in very soggy carpets. I had to take to Local Nissan Service Centre for fix on 3 separate occasions to have same problem fixed. Each time they claimed to have fixed it but only successful after 3rd attempt.

Car looks OK, is functional inside, often it drives OK, but why are Nissan the only ones who don't know they have CVT problems. Over a dozen times back for CVT problems (reported within 1st week) and they won't even let the dealer take the cover off and look inside the CVT to see if there is an issue. Search for reviews before you buy, don't just take this as gospel, this was an expensive mistake and others should learn from it. VW did a recall for similar faults of loss of power, car acceleration can be unpredictable and dangerous.

The selling points that appealled to us when purchasing this car was that there is sufficient legroom for a tall driver and a child's car seat fits behind the driver's seat. Also has a full size spare.

Having owned the vehicle for a little more than a year, the negative aspects are starting to become an issue. Tyre wear is excessive after only 10000km and Nissan say that it is due to the weight of the vehicle and the road camber. My opinion is that this is a design flaw. This car has really impressed me, with its huge volume of space inside, great seating features, 3 zone climate control, 360 birds eye view helps me see all around the vehicle especially for kids and moving in tight car parks. Have towed over a dozen loads of 2 tons of soil plus double axle trailer with no problems. The CVT actually increases the speed of the vehicle whilst the revs decrease even when climbing hills.... absolutely stunning! Even with all the hard work, we still get 400kms to a tank when towing! I have just picked up the 2016 model Pathfinder TI and was shocked a bit to find how outdated the infoentertainment system is compared to a 2013 VF Calais that I traded on the vehicle. My fault is that I assumed because I was purchasing a 2016 top of the range vehicle that the infoentertainment systems would be the latest with features but I was totally wrong. i bought an st model last year because i can afford one on a 1% percent finance nothing else.it was my first brand new suv,hurray! im 110kgs heavy and about 6ft height and im still struggling with its size.my wife avoids it at all cost.i like driving it its got a bit of grunt under the hoodie.with its mere size i think definitely needs wider wheels.its definitely not a 4wd so dont think of taking one offroad.it can do with a bit of modern,sportier front and rear end.word of advice make sure that oil is changed when it goes in for service..

I bought a demonstrator 2WD ST and so far loving it. The car is pretty spacious in front, in 2nd row and the 3rd row is pretty good for the young ones. the overall ride, and handling is pretty good although you seem to miss the road feel through the electro hydraulic steering system. The three zone climate controls works perfectly. The fuel consumption is a bit heavy in city but is superb on a longer drive. UPDATE: 6/8/17
After owning the Pathfinder more than a year now
Add to negative:
- the paint somehow thin... so easy to get stone chips from highway driving
- Bluetooth still crap, even after a reset by the dealership.
- After seeing CX-9, which is cheaper and better quality, this is not worth RRP$75k. The only thing that makes CX-9 perfect is the around view monitor.

Good:
- I am still averaging 9.4lt/100, good one for 7 seater SUV
