Great buy
We bought the Noirot to warm an awkward room and as an alternative heating source to our split system (used mainly for cooling) and our slow combustion wood burner, used mainly at might. We are using the Noirot daily and so far have not been disappointed. It works well heating up our open plan living area that adjoins large open space area with cathedral ceilings, so not an easy space to heat. It maintains temperature well keeping the room comfortable at all times.
Purchased in April 2021 at Harvey Norman for A$440.00.

Excellent heater but castors have always been a problem
I have had this heater for quite a few years. It heats the home beautifully....even comfortable heat, silent and energy efficient. There are 2 issues I have constantly experienced with the heater though - one being a problem with the castors. I have never been able to fit them properly, even with the stores assistance and the help of friends. I have had to tie them on and carefully move the heater, usually having to lift rather than roll it. This is a bit of a safety issue.
The second problem is that if I turn the temperature down past 6, the heater switches itself off.
I am in the process of needing another heater and thinking of another noirot, with the only concern being the castors and settings??
Purchased in February 2021 at The Good Guys for A$449.00.

Good heater but over-priced and not completely silent
This is actually quite a decent heater objectively speaking. It easily heats up my living area which is around 25 m2 and the thermostat appears to be quite accurate (so that there is minimum adjustment needed once you have found a suitable setting, regardless of the temperature). It is lightweight for the size so is easily moved around if necessary. It does seem to be quite economical relative to other similar heaters, though I really just put that down to the very accurate thermostat, the lack of any electric motors and its ability to retain h...Read more
eat. On the downside, this heater is not completely silent as Noirot appear to claim. Whilst there is almost no sound on account of thermal expansion / contraction, the heater is does exhibit a mains "hum" type of sound - presumably from some sort of internal transformer or similar component. This hum is actually objectively very quiet and for the most part, people would never hear it. However if you live in an otherwise very quiet house and you are in a quiet room late at night (especially if lacking soft furnishings), then you might be a little annoyed and disappointed with this particular noise. Other people have complained about the castors on these heaters and I concur. I cannot see any way to remove a fixed castor without breaking it or at least doing some sort of damage to it. This might make you think twice if you need to send it somewhere for repair or return in the original shipping box. My last gripe is the price. I honestly do not think this heater is worth the asking price relative to other brands, however you are apparently given a lifetime warranty on it. If this warranty really is a no quibbles lifetime warranty, then perhaps the price premium is worth it.Purchased in April 2021 at Bing Lee Online store for A$449.00.

Disappointed
Third winter and thermostat has packed up. Has no rhyme or reason to heat setting. Turn on full and it heats up to about half capacity. Turn on halfway and it comes on full, sometimes. Very disappointed in product I thought was good quality. Reading positive reviews leads down the garden path, as usual.

Stupid French design and made
I bought it at The Good Guy. The installation of the wheel castor meant to be very easy but it damn hard to slide it in. After put on the wheels, they can not be removed. What kind of stupid design is that, I realized it from France. No handle to carry around. Nothing better than my old Dimplex ceramic heater. Expensive and normal performance. Could not recommend to anyone.

Works great but could set house on FIRE!
I loved this heater; it was safe, kept the whole house warm and I could leave it on all night. However yesterday when vacuuming the house I unplugged it and noticed the power cord is cracked and starting to melt! It has been a very cold winter and we have had it running all night but seriously this is scary and this should not happen! I've had this heater for 4 years; I still have the receipt ( good guys) and the box as it has a lifetime warrranty????
I cannot use it anymore it's a FIRE HAZARD!

Good brand and reliable
Because it was approaching winter time, and my wife asked for Noirot heater with timer. I did my research online in early June, and i was waiting for the EOFY sales. The Good Guys got a good deal when i purchased it. The heater is very energy efficient, plus it is very reliable!

Quality heater
Quality heater, big bonus is the lifetime warranty. The casters are very flimsy however. Expect them to break...
The heater can be very hot to touch, so is probably not ideal for very little kids to be around. Also there is no tilt safety switch so if it falls over it won't auto cut-off.
That aside, I do like the heat output - it is very good, it is simple to use, a standard dial on off and another one for themostat. This model has no timer but I bought a external timer.

Best heater ever
We have tried many different kinds of heaters over the years. Fan heaters and radiant heaters. This heater far out-wins them all. It generates a good amount of heat and fairly quickly from the time you turn it on. Being a panel heater it is quiet. It comes with a lifetime warranty. It is not cheap but it is well worth the money. We bought another cheaper heater for another room and it doesn't give out the same amount of heat and as fast. Would happily recommend the Noirot heater.

Great
It's a great heater, good use in winter in a big area, it's fast warm, and safety for pets and children. I purchased another one this year, because it's good, but the only thing is the price, because it's price looks like double.price then other products.. recommend to friends.Happy use

Qiuet, Effective, Economical
This is the 2nd heater I have purchased because of their economical usage.
I Have one in an open spaced lounge, leave it on all night and it does its job of warming the area. The 2nd one is in the dining kitchen area- open space again, I leave this on over night, and have not had to use the Split System in the mornings to heat up the area.
I purchased the 2nd one from Betta Electrical for $439.00
Prices have dropped over the past 5 years as the first one I purchased was $500.00 from the Good Guys back then.

Heats up an area of about 35sqm to perfection
Living in Sydney the temperature doesn't get much lower than 10C. My 2400W contends with these temps easily and heats a well insulated area of about 35sqm to perfection.
Good Warranty, nice design, quiet and well built. The heater is not cheap but you do get what you pay for.
I am personally very happy.

7 years of use and still going well.
We have 3 Noirot panel heaters - 2 smaller (1500W) for the kid's rooms and a large one (2400W) for our loungeroom. We bought our first 2 in 2010 and then our third one - a large one in 2011. All work brilliantly and we've never had the slightest problem with any of them.
They are all wall mounted, so have had no issue with wheels, as others have. Our lounge area is quite large and once the heater has been turned on, it literally takes about 5 minutes to heat the room. We love it. We usually turn it off about an hour before going to bed,...Read more
as the room keeps quite warm for some time. We have found Noirot heaters to be extremely energy efficient, though we do our part by keeping our shutters closed when the heating is on and have blocked space under our doors. We paid around $1100 in total for all 3 and we agree, that it was money well spent. With a lifetime warranty, how can you go wrong? Heading into our 7th year and another winter since our first purchase and we wouldnt change a thing and feel very happy with all 3 heaters.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

An electric heater that really heats
I bought Noirot 2400 watt panel heater from good guys for a bit more then 400 AUD. It heats a room of 25-30 sqm to perfection even in the coldest days in Sydney 10 to 15 C and the place I used it had mediocre insulation. If you try to heat a bigger place, it warms it up but that's as good as it gets. I used mine with legs but you can also mount it to wall. The legs attach itself to the heater with a dozen or so tiny plastic parts which gave up in time one buy one and now even though it can stand on its legs one of them gets loose when you move it. If you have no other option then electric heating, this is one of the best and efficient you can get. Although it's a bit overpriced, it is a seriously good heater.

With every cent
Was a little sceptical though I'm glad i took the risk. A handy piece you can hang on the wall very European looking. Doesn't take up too much room. Overall performance a fabulous cost effect heater. It looks great.
The cost of running it Is cost effective.
I tell everyone about it how great it Is.
The heating is very effective also.
I am not one to push a product unless i am 100 percent.

Pretty good heater with lifetime warranty
These Noirot heaters are really good. They start warming up a room pretty much as soon as you turn them on.
I use one in my bedroom and one in the family room, where I also have another heater because the room is too big just for one heater to warm up. I usually put the heater on in my room for about 30-60 minutes to warm it up before I go to bed and it's great, as the heater stays warm for a bit longer, so it keeps the air warm. It's lovely in winter!

ke some of the column heaters can smell even after you've been using them for months. The Noirot heater has a strong smell for about 1/2 an hour or so, then after whatever stuff is there burns off (make sure to put it in an open, aired room, so the smell goes away quickly) the smell is not there any more, which is great.Similar opinion? Fantastic Heater
We just bought the 2400W heater for our lounge room. The lady at G Guys told us it would not be any good for very large areas with tiles floors and high ceilings. Our lounge room is a bit less than 25 sqm. We are able to close the doors to the rest of the house. If we turn the heater up full the room heats up to hot. So after about 15 minutes it gets turned down to about half. If we open the doors to the kitchen/dining area which is quite large with high ceilings we have to turn it back up a bit. If we put the heater out in that room it does qu...Read more
ite a good job heating that area as well and it has tiles and lino. We are going back to buy another smaller one for the bedroom. I can't comment on cost as we haven't had it long enough. I'm also not sure about the wheels. They seem ok but if they fall off or break I will re-post. If your heater is not heating a small room it must be faulty. Otherwise it needs to be used within its means.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

not worth buying
i rent a house in central west nsw and recently the owner had to replace our heater so they bought one of these heaters to heat up a lounge room dining room area and it takes the chill off the air but that's it, i live where we get minus 4 at this time of the year in winter and the days are lucky to be 10.i would not suggest that anyone relying on getting their house warm buy this heater especially with how much they cost, if it had been up to me i would have bought a rennai brand half the price and much better and more energy efficient.it may...Read more
cost 30 cents an hr to run but to get any benefit out of it you need to run it 24/7 which costs over $50 a week, $200 a month so over a 3mth period an extra $600 to your electricity bill which being on a pension i can not afford.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

SHOCKING WHEELS
Negative side...the wheels constantly fall off and are an absolute pain trying to re-attach them! it's definitely a design fault! they pop off with moving the heater just a few metres away to my office from the bedroom! my heating bill was very expensive using this heater after being told it was one of the cheapest to run.
On the positive side... it is quiet to run and heats the room beautifully.

Hi, the casing of our heater gets very hot. Is this normal for these heaters? Thankyou
Ollieasked
I've noticed lately after turning off our heater 7358-8 and unplugging it. The plug itself is Hot! So much so I couldn't even hold the plug itself. The cord was warm and gradually got warmer the closer to the plug.
Its plugged directly into the wall with no extension cords etc. Not left on for long periods of time. 2 hours at a time I would say. I've tried different sockets and all get hot.
Is this normal as we have lost trust in the product due to fear of a possible fire...

No thats not normal take it back! I have one and ive never noticed the plug or lead to be hot when unplugging it.

Hi, we have it set on 15 degrees for over night and have noticed it makes a low pitched buzz for about 10 seconds every 90 seconds ( Aprox). Is this normal? The heater is about 5 weeks old, bought from Harvey Norman NZ

uestion for Noirot: with my other Noirot heater (review above), can it be exchanged due to the problem of the castors and also having to always keep the heating dial above 6? I would like to be able to keep the heat low at times. It has always been an issue with this heater. I purchased it in Springwood, the Blue Mountains in 2011. The store has since closed down.
