I thought the warranty on $190.00 boots was for one year. I have had better boots bought at half the price that were better in every respect. Will not buy your Chinese low quality boots for half price. You need to increase quality before you have such a bad name your sales drop off. Would not recommend your boots to anyone.

I was under the impression that Oliver boots were made in Australia and paid the price commensurate with that in mind - $240. Unfortunately, after buying them, I see they're made in China! Oh No! If I'd been savvy enough to pick that up to begin with, I wouldn't have touched them. Hopefully - if they going to crumble, it'll happen within the six months warranty period and I'll have some recourse to get replacements - not that I really want them if they're made in China!

Could someone please advise where Oliver boots are made? I believe the company is headquartered in Ballarat, and my current (ancient) pair of Oliver boots were made locally, but some reviewers have made mention of the quality slipping 'since manufacturing moved offshore'. I don't want to pay premium prices for goods made in workshops that underpay workers. Thanks in advance.

They have been made off shore for many years so not sure why people say since going off shore ? Steel blue, Blundstone, cat are all made off shore mongrel partly made here, better to try or ask a workwear shop what has the least amount of warranty claims and what feels most comfortable really . If Oliver, steel blue and Blundstone were made here they would be about $300 a pair rather than $200

Thanks for the answer. I called Oliver direct and they confirmed that ALL their boots are now made in China. After further research, I found that Mongrel boots are still made in NSW. I ended up buying a pair for $170 and they are excellent. Very pleased to be supporting local manufacturing and I don't mind paying a bit more to do so.

Wish I'd known that before I bought my last pair of Olivers - maybe Mongrel boots need to advertise the fact a lot more - then again, they've probably gone to China too - where we seem to be paying them to cut our throats!

Mongrel says on the tag made here using imported parts ! They told a shop owner they were delayed to hold ups in China !

My pair, bought two years ago per my post above, say on the tongue 'Made in Australia from some imported parts'. I must say, they've been the most comfortable and robust pair of work boots I've ever owned.

Whats happened to the soles of the Oliver Work boots? They are still the most comfortable work boots to wear, but the soles don't last long anymore. We live in far north Qld, so the boots are being worn on the farm in tropical conditions & the soles start to fall apart & then just disintegrate at about 6-12 months old, while the upper boot is still perfectly good & just got worn in to the comfortable stage.. This has happened with the last 3 pairs I've had!
Not happy!!!

Liquid hand soap and nylon scrubbing brush. But you should just wear them and let them be work boots, warts and all.
