4 years of using Optus now
I have been using Optus from last 4 years now. I did have some hiccups when i moved to Brisbane from Sydney. The set up box i received was faulty and it took a month to get it working. But after all this while, i’m happy with the service now. We always record the programs and watch later. I have so many programs on recording all in the same time so the capacity is pretty high. Signal is clear. No issues with that. Many movies to chose from. We have internet and Netflix through optus as well.

Rubbish
Optus very annoying to deal with. They failed to disconnect our previous service while signing us up to Optus tv/Fetch package. Then they disconnected our new Entertainment package but they told us it was a fault with our line. Told we could get a Satellite dongle until the technical issue was resolved and they would pay for it. Then they tried to only pay us half of the promised amount.
Bad service all round.
Finally had the issues resolved when I complained so much they were sick of me.
Thank goodness I didn't actually pay for the Fetch service as it has the worst selection of movies and tv ever. Even the premium TV is so out of date.
Give me Netflix any time!
Don't pay for this.
Service is so sketchy even on a 100mbit connection. Movies do not stream properly. Only useful for recording free to air shows as any channel that streams will cut out and interrupt recording. So, so bad.
Not Worth It- so many technical faults in so little time
Purchased the $115 entertainment bundle in February 2015 - since then I've been having internet problems with the Fetch box and my computer - it's now June 2015 and they have now replaced the modem 3 times and fetch box once.
Every time I call to technical support I:
1) stay on hold for at least 30 mins
2) they asked me the same questions (like they are going off from a guide) and when I explain to them that the last 5 people I've spoken to about the same issue in the last hour has asked me to do the same thing which is turn off my modem...

Worse Customer experience in 42 years
Had to wait 3 months for settop box for fetch TV then told it would be another 1-2 months. When I asked to speak to manager was told one would call me with 10 days. Do not use OPTUS.

Optus Fetch TV: A LIAR, Optus should be sued for this.
Optus does not explain how to connect it. Here is how it works.
If you have small house with one circuit, use the power line adaptor, plug the adaptor to power point on wall socket near your TV, connect it to the top box. You can buy the adaptor from Optus, cheaper.
If you have large house, with two separate circuits, use the wireless hybrid. You need to buy it from shops, optus does not sell this.
It lags badly with power line adaptor, and does not work at all with hybrid adaptor, that's why Optus does not sell them!
Claim or ask for discount from Optus as they lied to you..

OPTUS TV is basically a fraud
Received FETCH box as part of the cable broadband bundle. The impressions after the first three days of use:
(1) The thing takes ages to boot up from the power saving mode. Take Windows 7 installed on XP-only laptop, multiply by 10.
(2) The thing does not work as a cable TV from about 5 PM till 10 PM and on the weekends. The shows interrupt every 5 minuted by "No Internet Connection" black screen. After calling the technical support, received an answer: "No can do, ze lines are congested, 'cause two many peopla watcha TV!" (pronunciation pres...

Content ok, but Doesn't work properly & very unreliable.
First time got fetch TV set top box. PRO: Easy to install, CON: Errors. Interrupted TV Signal from connection errors. I used it for the first time today worked fine during the day but after 8PM at night picture kept on freezing. Cut off with "Unable to play Channel" or "Low Bandwidth", we are on unlimited. Our internet works fine 100%
Very dissapointed I was so excited about this and in the end was let down totally, I didn't know this would be so difficult. would not recommend this to anyone would rather prefer Foxtel.

Fetch had better improve .
with the offer of 30 movies per moth i thought i would at least beable to watch some reasonable movies
anyone that wants intelegent, well acting, or adult entertmaiment, then dont waist your time at this stage
from the 30 movies I watched 4 . on the free list .
paying $6 to watch the rest is a hard task to again find enough to say this service is worth having
its a bit like going into a badly run DVD rental astabishment and spending a long time to select a weeks supply and comming out disapointed
if you into kiddy flick then enjoy
Problem all the time to get it connected, it cant find the nework on fist hookup or switch on
But whats the point anyway I have had this now for three months and have only watched 3 movies as they do...
unless they improve it will be taken off the system and placed in a box ...4 mths now and the same crap available to me on a 30 movies per month I have seen 2
i have the optus bundle and it offers 30 movie per month
its been 6 mths now and i have watched 2 movies .
the selection is total crap not a or b rating but xyz ...

No optus fetch
I thought this package had a better channel and product offering to what we had, (t-box) and not that keen on Foxtel. But this has been nothing but trouble. From the start we had numerous problems getting the connection it took 3months to arrive and get set up. Not once did the customer service follow through on their promises and not once did I get to speak to the same operator. It took well over 26 calls to get my issue resolved and it was only after I vented on their Facebook page did I get a response.
The product itself doesn't work on wif...

Very limited, thank goodness I got it free with my $90/month cable broadband plan
Pros:
- Does not buffer like foxtel play
- On the best package I get with my plan I got all only 30 channels
- Poor live TV content and selection
Cons:
- Aerial TV is so poor that I view freeview TV channels 9, 99, GO with no sound
- All SD quality videos
- Limited documentary shows, TV shows, NO drama (funny thing is, it advertise foxtel in fetchTV), 1 lifestyle channel and its not as good.
- Relies on netflix support (company "claims to be different")
- Relies on wired connection (No Wifi)

optus fetch
What a load of rubbish this system/service is!!!!. We signed upfor it about two years ago and from the start had nothing but trouble with it. Had it replaced twice still not working properly, have finally cancelled it and am in the proces of sending it back.
Sick and tired of talking? to service centres in India Philipines and god knows what other engrish speaking country, frustration had me yelling at one person in some place or other and finally got to speak to a public relations person in Adelaide. She was sympathetic to our problems and ...

Worst customer experience ever.
I basically had the same experience as others on the forum had. Order stuffed up, Put on hold for hours, no correct information, still haven't receive the set top box and the Tablet even though said that It would be delivered yesterday . It has been 3 weeks. Promised few times to call back but never did.
Only one advice for others. Do not go with Optus.
Still waiting..
Shocking!! My Order was't set up in the system. Called them 10times but not a single person told me that and said goods will be delivered on the 25th of Feb. Someone supposed to confirmed me the deliv...

this is something that i can live a lot better without.
I have been with optus for over six years. My average bill is $150 a month, I'm pretty sure I'm on a $80 or $90 plan. I tried to get cable or adsl+2 with a tablet and the entertainment package togeather and fetch tv. There was no loyalty for being with them for so long. my wife and i spent a full day searching around for offers and half the day on hold to optus. And the next weekend there was no notes left on our account and they offer us the same offer as anyone else that has never been with them before. I'm annoyed, disappointed and frustrate...
Read mored, with there we can also offer you.... when on the optus page it already came with the deal. I first spoke to someone from India, put me on hold then i spoke to someone from the Philippines, i dont know who i spoke to after that or what country and after 2 wasteful hours on hold, while trying to cancle my account i was told to go into the new network provider and it will automatically be cancled and i can still keep my number. Why couldn't the first person tell me that. anyone know a better provider that gives loyalty rewards please let me know asap. ThanksWorthless and no support
I have had fetch for a few month and have had nothing but problems. I have to reset the box and the remote when I want to watch it, the new programming is terrible, mostly cooking shows. Have called support many times all they say is get a new hdmi cord, done that 3 times. Its fust not worth it

have less viewing than with no cable tv, its crazy
the selection of movies is shockingly bad
tv channels not worth paying for
movies that you can pay for are also poor selection choice, and cost more than the

The biggest waist of money
We have had fetch for 6 months now. If this was a free service, I would not have it! The shows are repeated on a daily, weekly, monthly basis. We have seen shows played in the am only to be repeated in the pm and the next day. It is crap. When the contract ends we will not be renewing, Telstra had a good package and I know the programs are of variety . The movies are ridiculous and there may be 3 or 4 new ones a month. Do not waist ur time or money, do not give optus fetch a go you will be so dissapointed, even the kids will be as the Disney...
Read more Channel is repeated daily Do your shopping as there are great packages out there that offer so much more and offer a great service for the streaming tv . I'm just sorry I have to put up with this package for a big more time :(- 28 reviews

Repeat programs and old outdated free movies!
So I paid for this because their internet plans were bundle with this TV package and I basically paid an extra $10! But I don't think it's even worth that $10! The TV channels plays the same content everyday and almost every few hours! The free movies are older than me! They basically just wants me to pay for new movies. My husband asked at joining if we can subscribe AFL and they said yes, later when we rang up they said no! So angry their sales team are so incompetent. And they play preview of shows I want to watch, but I never know when they're actually on!
it was cheap with the bundle!
not worth the money, repeating shows and old movies
False advertising - FETCH your TV
I phoned Optus to enquire about phone, internet, tv, bundle - The salesman explained the main points and we agreed - 10 days and a technician will connect and the TV phone and internet would be up and running. 17 days later I get connected only to be told the TV "FETCH" doesn't arrive until 10 days later ! I guess this wouldn't be so bad its just that I had cancelled my FOXTEL connection for 5pm that day not knowing about the 10 day wait. I was on the phone for an hour talking to India. I offered to FETCH the TV myself from any nearby locati...
Read moreon but no luck. The rep said she would look into it and ring me back - NING - i guess she went to FETCH her supervisor and forgot to return. On numerous occasions I asked to speak to an Australian Rep but no luck there either. This was not what I paid for and I am appalled at the service to resolve the problem. The internet and phone connection is all good No bloody TV- 2 reviews

Time for Optus to change "yes" to "no"
Subscribed for Fetch TV and was very disappointed as I could not get connection to South Indian Pack. After weeks of trouble shooting and no solution offered, I finally requested for a cancellation. Very poor customer service and technical support offered. Customer service did not call back as promised and notes on the account not updated regularly. I urge all to please consider before subscribing.
Everything from customer service to technical support.
