Juicer, Nut Butter maker .... even makes ice cream !!!!
A while ago I was on a "health retreat" to try to get my diet under control (another long story).
While there the topic of juicers came up and they showed two contenders that were reccomended. After a lot of checking out review sites, asking friends and generally over-thinking it all, I went for the Oscar to replace our venerable Breville (traditional, messy inefficient food shredding unit).
Very glad I did.

h in the fridge for a few days if needs be. Cleans easily and doesn't have a massive footprint on the kitchen bench. Pulp comes out very "dry" so you know it's getting the most out of the foods you are running through it. Apples, carrots, ginger, beetroot and an orange all juiced juice make a great day starter :-) It's solid, comes apart easily, parts are dishwasher safe.

Works very well!
Very impressed with the oscar neo after a previous bad experience with another juicer. I have been using it everyday and it is very reliable and does its job well. I really like the settings that the oscar neo comes with which allows you to control its pulp/duty. It looks good and i recommend it if you are looking for a cold press juicer. the only downside is that the recommended time of using the juicer is 30mins, and the machine gets quite hot if you use it for 20mins +. As for cost $500 was quite expensive compared to my previous juicer, but it was totally worth the money and investment.
Reliable, clean, easy to use
machine gets abit hot, fairly expensive

WOW Thanks for posting your problem because I have just experienced the same or similiar.
As I was juicing carrots one by one utilizing its self feed process without using the food pusher at all I suddenly heard the crunch crack crash type of noise so immediately reached behind and switched the juicer off.
On investigation I found that the carrot fibrous had jammed in the end section where the mouth of the strainer and the auger meet.
This apparently created a situation of binding the strainer to the auger where ...Read more

Money well spent!
The Oscar handles everything we throw at it, and makes incredible juice. The different pressure settings are really useful when changing from soft to hard fruits/vegetables.
It did cost a lot to buy, but I'm definitely confident it will last longer than any of the cheaper types of juicers, especially non-masticating juicers.
It's much quieter than the last juicer we had, which was a Breville, non-masticating juicer and leaves behind MUCH less pulp.
Easy to use, reliable, relatively quiet, sturdy.
When you put it into reverse, sometimes liquid gets into the part where the components attach to the engine, but this isn't a major, as a handtowel easily absorbs any liquid.

Excellent job
got this juicer after having 2 sunbeam je9000 that both lasted about 2 weeks between them both. Wow what a difference spending a bit more money. It Juices with ease, whole carrotts at a time, has not jammed once unlike the sunbeam which couldnt handle anything really. At first when i saw all the set up i thought gee alot of bits and pieces, but it makes it so simple to clean. Its also very quiet, but does take up a little bit more room than some of the upright type of juicers, but it works so much better. So glad i paid the extra. I went from a...Read more
panasonic juicer that was fantastic that lasted for ever to a sunbeam je9000 that lasted a day. I have not tried the pasta maker or the other setups with this juicer as i just really wanted it as a juicer. No pulp gets stuck in the outlet, even celery. Overall very happy with this juicer and it seems as if it will go on for a very long time. just works great nilSimilar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Can't get enough!
This is our second juicer and it's such an amazing machine. Our previous juicer was a centrifugal type one, and I was never happy with that machine as I'm a shift worker and a) it was very noisy and would wake me up when my husband used it and i was trying to sleep, and b) the juice would separate into pulp and water after about 10 minutes so I was never able to make a juice the night before to take to work with me. The Oscar, on the other hand, is super super quiet and makes the most fantastic juices with minimal pulp, so I'm now able to make ...Read more
a big batch and take some with me the next day. It's also so very easy to clean. I can literally clean this after using it in 45 seconds. It's also a lot smaller than our old juicer - I was initially worried about the size of this machine versus the upright Hurom 400, but I need not have worried as the Neo is pretty tiny and happily lives on our benchtop. We've had the Oscar for about 2 months now and we use it most days. So far we have made juices (obviously) as well as pasta (which was fantastic!), "bliss balls" made from minced dates, and frozen fruit ice cream, which was delicious and healthy and so creamy (we put some banana in and it was just like real ice cream). I rave about this machine to everyone and they're all sick of hearing about it, but I'm just so happy we bought it. Definitely worth the money. So quick to clean! Frozen fruit ice cream is amazing.2 comments

Loving my Oscar Neo
This is the first juicer I have ever used and I am loving it. The machine is easy to assemble, operate and clean. It is quiet and doesn't vibrate when in operation. I am experimenting with various combinations of fruit and veg, and typically make two different types of juice each day. The most time consuming part is preparing the fruit and veg for juicing, as the chute is quite small. There is a dial which helps to manage the amount of pulp. There are additional attachments for making other things like noodles, but my main interest is in the juicer. Overall, I am very pleased with this purchase.
Easy to assemble, operate and clean.

Wow! Impressive!
After much research online on the topic of juicer, I have finally made up my mind to splurge on getting the Oscar Neo. I am persuaded by the fact that a cold press juicer can supposedly retain more good stuff from the veggies and fruits compared to the typical centrifugal juicers. Got the machine delivered today and made the first glass for apple/carrot/ginger/mint/celery juice. The first impressive thing that wowed me was how quiet the machine is (definitely not as loud as blender type of juicers you see from juice bars)! Assembling the parts ...Read more
is easier than expected. Washing up is quick! The pulp that came out was quite dry and volume of pulp that came out was less than I expected (very fine and dry which will definitely make good compost!). The only hassle is the cutting up of fruits to fit in the chute. I am yet to test out other recipes such as the mincer, and make pasta or noodles with the machine. It is a bit premature to say whether the machine is worth the value, but I am simply wowed and impressed with the quality of the juice that comes out, and how quiet it operates! Quiet, easy to clean, juice with no pulp Expensive, have to cut fruits/veggies to fit through chuteSimilar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Love it!!!!
This is my first time juicing and I am loving it so far. It tastes amazing..so fresh and lots of juice and hardly any waste. Good quality product. So easy to use and keeps all nutrients from food. I also got a free wheat grass/ herb grower with mine from Vitality 4 Life. Thanks! Arrived very quickly. Very happy customer.
The only small thing is I find the feeding shute a bit narrow so you have to chop everything small...but maybe this is the way it has to be to be effective. It's all worth it.

Maxi juice extraction, cleaning is a breeze
After using a centrifugal juice extractor for years I was unprepared for the huge difference in taste, flavour, and maximum juice extraction features of the Oscar Neo. The dial the level of pulp feature is terrific and the amount of juice extracted from fruit/vegetables is doubled compared to a centrifugal machine. The juice does not separate and lasts at least 2 days in the fridge. A perfect machine for keeping healthy with the minimum of effort. And so easy to clean.

I've had a Breville centrifugal juicer and then had a Greenpower for a while..this one was definately worth the purchase. I'm not sure why other reviewers are saying that the juice is pulpy - mine is pulp free. The big plus compared to the greenpower or breville one is the ease of cleaning. It is fantastically quick and this does make a difference to whether or not you decide to make a juice. If you are fanatical then the greenpower one does extract a little more, particularly with greens/wheatgrass but it took forever to clean and unless y...Read more
ou are on some major juice fast I would recommend the Oscar. So far no problems (2 months using twice per day). It makes great sorbets. The plastic parts are thinner than the greenpower but so far they are all holding up. I like that the fruit/veggies don't have to be forced into the juicer - you drop them in and they get munched up. You do have to chop up the fruit/veggies as the feed chute is quite small but this is a quick job. easy to clean, quiet, looks good1 comment

Handles pineapples fine, very efficient juice extraction.
We bought this juicer about a year ago. It definitely gets the most out of the fruit and veg. The waste is very dry. You do get quite pulpy juice but I see this as a good thing as it gives you more fibre. Never had a problem with pineapple as some other reviews suggested. When I bought it, we actually got upgraded to the neo as the lower model was not available.

t purée and be stuck in the first part. The thing I like most about this is that the strainer sieve is so small and therefore very easy to clean. The clear components do stain after a while and get a white film on them like a thin layer of semitransparent paint. You can scrape it off the bits you can get too but be aware that it won't look shiny and amazing forever. The pasta function is really good and I have made banana choc ice cream by putting through frozen bananas and chocolate. The motor handles anything with no complaints. The only negative I have is that it takes a while to make juice. Extremely efficient juice extraction, easy to clean Not for you if you don't like pulp1 comment

Shocking After Sale Service
I have an Oscar Neo DA1000 juicer for less than 2 years and the juicing strainer started to crack then eventually break. I was quite surprised. The machine haven't been used everyday, parts never been in dishwasher, always hand wash with sponge, soft brush and mild gentle detergent. As like you guys I loved the juicer and we look after it.

OK Juicer, if you like pulpy juice!
I was looking at the Hurom 400 Pro-Juicer and the Oscar DA-1000 Neo (incidentally, both juicers are made by the same Korean company) and chose the Oscar Neo as the sales person recommended the juicer due to it's flexibility in creating other things like spagetti, ice cream, etc. other than just juice.
I then looked up a U-Tube comparison website which "identifies" the difference in the amount of pulp between the Oscar Neo and the Hurom 400 Pro Juicer and the Oscar was the outright winner in the U-Tube test. It stated that the juice produced b...Read more

Easily the best Juicer available, if your looking for a Juicer, look no further
I love this juicer, I went from a Breville to this and havent looked back, it handles everything I can throw at it. All the leafy stuff is no problem for this juicer. I even jam stuff down and put all my weight on it to force the vegies through and it never misses a beat. Whole carrots (as long as they are not too fat) are no problem. The only thing as others have mentioned is the soft fruits and berries, but as long as they are followed by something harder, they go through. Great for Juicing Greens, Vegies and Harder Fruits
I purchased this juicer in the beginning of February and so far it has performed as promised. This type of juicer was chosen because I wanted to juice leafy greens and vegetables along with some smaller amounts of fruit. A lot of juicers do not juice greens very well or at all.
So far this juicer has juiced carrots, beetroot, ginger, garlic, apples, cucumber, celery, tomatoes and many types of green leafy vegetables and herbs. As cucumber and tomatoes are so soft they don't get pushed through the auger so it is necessary to follow one to ...Read more
three pieces of these soft fruits with one or two pieces of carrot (or similarly hard vegetable). Very little pulp in the juice. I have frozen fresh coconut milk and pureed mango and then used the grinder part to make an ice cream type treat and it comes out like firm soft serve icecream. They need to be left out of the freezer for about 10 minutes prior to grinding. I have not tried to make nut butter or dips with it as yet although this machine can do so. NB: Do not force produce down the shoot with too much force as it may put undue pressure on the auger which is fitted into the motor. I have not had a problem with this but it is an observation of what could happen if ordinary care was not taken. Using undue force would not stop it from functioning at all but it couldn't be good for the motor.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Good at the start but now it's giving me issues
I got the Oscar after reading these great reviews and I avoid fructose anyway so I thought who cares if it can't handle pineapple. The machine worked great for a couple of weeks but now whenever I'm making a jug of green veggie juice (enough to last me 2 days) I have to stop 4 or 5 times to clean out the gunk that accumulates in the moving parts. Vitality L.Oscar
Hi Blair. It most certainly can 'mince' meat. It will not be like the mince you get from the butcher but using the 'mincing strainer' you can put anything almost in there and it will come out 'minced'. I use my Oscar all the time for mincing. Please let me know if you have any other questions. Kindest, Michelle | Vitality 4 Life
Thanks for that answer, I didn't know that but useful for the future :)
Thanks for the reply, I'll give this a go then! does anyone know of a sausage filling attachment that also maybe used with the Oscar?
I have an Oscar DA1000 and can't find anywhere to purchase a new strainer (new or #2). I love the juicer but can't use it till I find a replacement strainer. ????
4 answers
Hi Sue, the place to buy the strainer is Vitality4life but buy in bulk as they continually break. Hubby and I have been using the Oscar juicers for nearly 20 yrs but the model we bought a couple of years ago just kept breaking the strainer. I lost count how many strainers I bought! I would keep cutting the vegetables smaller and smaller but they kept breaking. So had to ditch the Oscar for another brand of juicer. Good luck :-))
Mine was the same brand as yours
I had the same issue is Jo S. but found that www.vitality4life.com.au were very helpful. It is a fault with the machine but I have got a new clear plastic bit (whatever the drum thing is called), along with a new strainer, the new strainers are a bit sturdier but I am still yet to see that this will be the solution (and I don't want to jinx it), they really need to make the strainer with more metal parts to be sturdier, I live for my juices, so I don't like being without it- good luck!
Brontie Arkieasked
Is anyone having problems with Oscar Neo DA 1000 screens breaking with minimal use

Hello Brontie, we have been using the Oscars for nearly 20 yrs and had to finally give up on them. Too many strainers kept breaking. We do cut up the pieces small. Each time the strainer was replaced I’d cut the veggies even smaller but they kept breaking. Unfortunately not as good as they use to be.
I have the same issue. The strainers are not made strong enough, such a pity as I love the juicer, but I have had a lot of strainers replaced

Quite frankly for such a juicer this is NOT good news...one thing after another and obviously no attention given to user recommendations.
