Professional, Efficient and Thorough - with reasonable pricing! (Ref: 723401)
We needed to move an LCL (Less than Container Load) worth of household furniture and personal effects from Sydney to Singapore in Oct 2015. Scouted around online for a good deal and finally chose OSS (I actually even rejected a couple of quotes after going through their ieatwords.com.au reviews!) which had the great combo of reasonable pricing + fab reviews.
Even though the team who came to pack up Sydney were late by 1.5 hours (they mistakenly went to another pickup in the same suburb), the entire job was done very professionally and e...Read more
fficiently in just 45 mins, which was super-impressive. Throughout the whole shipping process the comms with the OSS team and their partner in Singapore (AGS) was very smooth, with no ambiguity (even a month's storage costs were reasonable) and all dates/times adhered to diligently. The AGS team in Singapore who delivered and unpacked the shipment were similarly professional, neat and very organised. Apart from a small breakage in our long-ish TV unit (one of the screws holding up the middle drawer got broken/lost, tilting that part awkwardly), we loved the service. Thanks a ton to OSS and AGS for making this move happen so well, and I've very sure we will recommend them to all friends and family.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Good people- but always read the fine print
Moved from Newcastle to Bangalore in India. Packers promptly arrived on time- friendly professional people, did good job. Our agreement with OSS was door to door delivery. Problem was with a piano. Globe movers, who are OSS counterparts in Bangalore refused to deliver it to the first floor as entry was narrow. They said it needed special equipment and quoted an unreasonable additional sum to do this. They said they had to hire somebody else to do the job. We got in contact with OSS here. They initially said they will check with their manager to...Read more
look into some kind of part payment to cover the cost. After checking with the manager, they said they could not do anything further. On questioning, they pointed out in the contract it says the agreement does not cover delivery of certain objects like Piano to premises with difficult access. I eventually got in touch with some other local team in Bangalore who moved the piano upstairs at a significantly less amount than quoted by the OSS counterparts in Bangalore.Similar opinion? Great service, extremely professional, we will definitely use them again when we move back.
We shipped a 5cbm box for our move from Zurich/Switzerland to Sydney/Australia. Customer service was excellent, they informed me well every step of the way, delivery happened on the projected day too. On the day of the delivery, the guys who delivered and unpacked our furniture and personal effects were extremely professional and careful with our belongings - and they were on time as well. Felt just like being back in Zurich :-)

Excellent Service and Support in Our Move to the U.S.
Moving house from Australia to the United States was a daunting task for us and choosing OSS to manage the packing and shipping made things go much more smoothly! They provided us with all of the necessary paperwork and guidance on how to complete each form, they were very responsive in answering our questions, and they arranged the packing to accommodate our schedule. Our items were delivered to us in the timeframe that they promised and almost everything got here in perfect condition. Of the hundreds of items that we shipped, not surprisingly...Read more
, there were a handful of items that needed repair or replacement. To their credit, OSS processed our insurance claim in a very timely way and organised for a high quality local repair company to fix the minor damage. We are grateful to OSS for taking away the stress and hassle of our international move and would strongly recommend them to anyone who wants a reliable international moving company with excellent customer service.

Held to ransom for extra $1k and took five months to ship from Oz to UK.
Despite several emails to OSS we still have received no explanation as to why our goods were not put on a ship until 19th May, despite them being packed up on 27th February in Sydney. It looks like we will finally take delivery this week, nearly five months after we left Australia! We had been promised it would take '12 or 13 weeks'. We are also still very angry that we were basically held to ransom for nearly another $1000 owing to their estimator underestimating how many cubic feet our belongings would take up, why is that our fault?? disappointed. Communication has also been dreadful, no information or updates unless we chased up ourselves. Poor service, overcharged and held to ransom
Use OSS at your own peril! We moved back from Sydney to Auckland late in 2013. This was our 4th country move so we were (relatively) experienced with what to expect. The initial communication was ok until packing day when all the problems started. When they packed our households good they ran out of room for our motorbike. We had to chase for 5 days to find out what was happening; got promised call backs which never happened. On the final day in Oz we finally heard that our goods and bike were going in a bigger container.
They lost our paperwo...Read more

Excellent service
We used OSS World Wide movers in our move from Singapore to Sydney. We have had three overseas moves prior to this one. From the office staff who monitored our goods and arranged delivery to the men who delivered and unpacked our belongings, we were astounded by their professionalism, courtesy and excellent service. Not one of our items was broken and nothing was too much trouble - from putting beds together to dealing with a difficult driveway. We cannot recommend their services highly enough and we would definitely use them again in the future. And just for the record, they were the second cheapest quotation from 6 international movers.
The efficiency of the office staff who managed the whole process seamlessly

An absolute pleasure from Start to Finish
We moved from Central Coast of NSW to Nottinghamshire in the UK. From the very start we were greeted with professionalism. They treated us and our property with respect and care through a stressful time. We had our furniture in Storage for 6 months and it arrived to us as we left it. In excellent condition. The service of packing our furniture including taking apart and rebuilding was exceptional. I can't stress how impressed we are with OSS and would highly recommend them if you are thinking of moving abroad and you want your valuables taken care of.
Reliable, Professional, exceptional communication,

Novice importer receives outstanding professional and friendly service.
I am a novice importer of items which I collected overseas and where too large to return with on the airliner. I left a small collection of vintage aircraft collectables with a friend in the U.K. PackSend, Milton Keynes UK, cheerfully collected the items, then carefully boxed them. They advised me OSS in Sydney would be in touch in due course. OSS did contact me and continually advised me of the status of my import. They carefully completed all documentation, arranged for Customs and Quarantine clearance and finally delivered my box of items w...Read more

Never Again!
I recently moved back home to new zealand from oz with oss and oh my god, what a cluster **** of an operation.
These guys didn't tell me anything about quarantine fees or the extra $$$
For handling given they were delivering to the country "rural area". That's a double hit to start with after given them my new address obviously and clearly to begin with.
When I called there Sydney office there manager wouldn't even speak to me!!!
What a gutless coward!!!

Dear New Kiwi,
Thank you for your feedback and I would like to investigate your situation and circumstances further, please could contact us with details of your consignment to enable this. ... Read more
All consignments of personal and household effects entering New Zealand are subject to Customs and Quarantine Clearance. Quarantine clearances are facilitated by The Ministry of Primary Industries (MPI) formerly MAF. MPI inspect some but not all consignments entering New Zealand. It is the MPI that profile your consignment for potential risks and determine what to inspect and where an inspection must occur. All consignments sent via shared container service will be inspected if ordered by MPI at our partners Customs and Quarantine approved premises as part of the container unload process. MPI inspection charges for this type of shipment will vary between NZ$100-$400 depending on the size of the consignment. For sole use container being delivered to metropolitan addresses i.e main port cities, Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch, Dunedin, Tauranga, Nelson, New Plymouth, and Napier MPI inspection may be able to occur in certain circumstances in conjunction with the container delivery at residence. This is always our preferred option as the shipping container can in these cases be delivered direct to residence from the port. This minimises cost and handling. MPI inspection charges would be NZ$380-$720 depending on container size 20ft or 40ft container. There will however be certain times when MPI inspection is ordered to occur at a bonded warehouse. In general terms if your final delivery address is considered “rural” meaning that any quarantine risk within your container could not be easily contained (i.e. the bugs could get out into the environment) then an inspection will be ordered at an approved premises prior to delivery of your effects to that “rural” area. The handling cost will vary depending on the size of the consignment NZ$300-$1,000. There are a number of grey areas where MPI inspection may be allowed to occur at residence or is ordered by MPI to occur at a bonded depot. These would typically include destinations such as Hamilton, Ashburton, Whangarei, Hastings, and the city fringes of main port towns. MPI inspection and handling charges are specifically and clearly excluded from our moving quotes. In our quotation this will be on the 3rd page under the heading Inclusions & Exclusions. This is the norm in Australia as MPI inspections are not mandatory or uniform in New Zealand. OSS World Wide Movers clients are always advised that MPI inspection charges are likely in New Zealand and that if an inspection must occur at a depot and your effects can not be delivered direct to residence then additional handling and costs will apply. These charges are not insignificant as they reflect the considerable amount of additional handling and transport involved. In your case you have commented that you do not feel that this was outlined to you so please contact our office and we will endeavour to work out a reasonable solution. Fantastic
I had a week to organise my Bosses desk from South Africa to Sydney which could only be collected from a village outside Joburg on one day! Tall order? You'd think so, but not for OSS they were amazing, it was all organised in a few hours, they held my hand all the way, and kept me informed of the procedure and the paperwork. The desk arrived in perfect condition. Job well done guys, thanks for making me look like a hero with my Boss.
Helpful, and kept me informed.

Great Service
Friendly & helpful service. Goods arrived on time. They kept us informed at all stages of the process of moving goods from London to Sydney. The courier service carried the boxes up the stairs to my house for me, which was great, as I could not have done it by myself.

Australia to Chile
Ours was a rather complicated move from outback NSW Australia to "country side" Chile. Everything arrived in excellent condition with no unpleasant surprises with all the various regulations. It was great to work with pleasant people who put up with all our silly questions. A very efficient operation all round.
Very pleasant efficient people, the packaging was excellent, no damage on any of the furniture.

A very friendly professional service
OSS managed my consignment from UK to new home in Sydney, and they were excellent all along the line. Smooth processing through quarantine (although an extra $280 cost that I wasn't expecting, but not OSS's fault I suppose, although they could have told the UK shippers), very good delivery men and would have no hesitation in recommending them.

Absolutely worst service.
I recently used this company and we had a total nightmare dealing with this company, we paid for our furniture door to door from newzealand and when when our furniture arrived we were then told we also had to pay to get our furniture delivered to us, we informed OSS that we had paid door to door but we had to contact nz to sort it out, we were then informed that we had to pay quarantine costs and that it would be a set price but it didn't end there, we then got told that the lawnmower failed 3 times and this would incur costs to get the lawnmow...Read more
er back. I would recommend no one to use this company at all and find a better company to deal with, as OSS Sydney are not reliable, cooperative or willing to negotiate under any circumstances. Slow, unreliable, untrustworthySimilar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Dear Eliza,
We are sorry to learn of the issues you have raised in your review feedback. We take client feedback very seriously as we are always striving to improve our services, so whilst this isn’t pleasant we thank you for your contribution. ... Read more
. On a positive note we are pleased to note your feedback that the packers were excellent. We do work to ensure we have quality crews and your goods are packed professionally for international transit. Reviewing your file we note that our consultant visited your home on 4th February 2014. The goods to be shipped were sighted and an inventory list was prepared (124 items, estimated at 25 cubic metres). Following the survey, OSS prepared a quotation and forwarded to you on 12th February 2014, for shipment of your effects from NSW to Worcestershire UK via consolidation or shared container. A shared container service simply means that your effects will be consolidated with other people’s effects also traveling to the UK to share the associated transit cost. We estimate that a shared container service to the UK will take approximately 9-13 weeks but there can be exceptional circumstances where this is not the case. The quotation we provided was based on the goods sighted at the time of the inspection and listed on our inventory accompanying our service proposal. This is sent to ensure that the basis for which we are providing a quotation matches your expectation of what is being moved. It is also an opportunity to double check the listed items for accuracy and to ensure all items are included. The quotation was accepted and the uplift of your goods was scheduled for 28th February 2014. On receipt of the consignment into store, we noted that the consignment had increased slightly by 3 cubic metres from the items originally surveyed. In terms of the number of items, 124 items were listed as surveyed and 158 items were actually packed and uplifted from your residence. This is not a problem but it does incur additional costs in terms of time and materials at origin, and additional costs for freight and handling at destination. There are internal controls built into our system that prohibit the shipment of consignments which are not fully paid. These consignments are flagged as "Held "until full payment has been received. Once the notification from the warehouse was received our move coordinator notified you via email regarding the increased volume and the additional charges which would apply. A response was received from you on 14th March, 2014. The matter was reviewed by management and the additional charges were reduced to assist you. The final charges were advised to you, with final payment being received from you on 8th April and notification sent to you that the consignment would be scheduled to be loaded in the next available container to the UK. Your consignment was shipped on the 20th May arriving in the UK on the 1st July. From go to whoa we do agree that in your circumstances it has been a long time for a family to be without their effects and it is hard to disagree in this case it looks like we have dropped the ball slightly. Whilst there was justification at each stage of the process why the consignment was not shipped earlier, our standard practice regarding payment required in advance and as with all consolidations, the need to fill the container prior to shipping, when you look at the move holistically we do feel we could have communicated better and used a little more discretion. In an effort to assist at destination, we will contact our destination partner and asked them to treat your shipment as a priority clearance and arrange delivery as soon as possible. We believe you have been patient and polite throughout the process and we regret any inconvenience caused to you. We will now re-evaluate our systems in light of your circumstances. In the meantime, we will be in contact with you directly to offer you compensation as a gesture of good faith. We apologise again for the inconvenience caused. Regards. OSS World Wide Movers
