We installed this in our new house in 2015. We have had tenants living in the house for 2 years but now we a\have moved back in. It appears the zones are not as they were. Could the tenants have changed something? I would assume that I would have to get someone in but just wanted to ask the question. Last night it was so cold and we put on the zone that we thought it was and it appears that 2 zones came on together. Weird.

Yes, we had that issue with ours. Our unit has always been like that though since we moved in, and we didn't change anything. Could it have always been set up this way and you didn't notice? I've never had it altered or queried it as it didn't bother us.
No it was always one zone for media and study and another for the combined living, dining and kitchen area. Will get a technucian yo check it out.
Thankyou. My fingers too quick!

Hi, we've recently had the R32 Inverter model U-224PZH2R8 installed and have noticed when we're using the heater setting, cool air comes out of the vents periodically. Is this normal? Why does this happen?
1 answer
That happens with ours too. I think it's when the room air temp has reached the setting you have it on. There may be a setting where u can turn that off.

I find it interesting that Panasonic choose to answer or comment only on the the good reviews and there is no comment on any one who has a problem. Wonder why?
3 answers
Yes, they never responded to my review even I give more than enough time to resolve the issue, it also took more than three weeks to fix the problem
My air con that cost $10,000 failed just 2 months out of 5 year warranty and their answer is basically - tough luck

Good morning, I have just had a quote to install a Panasonic Ducted A/C unit to my house, the unit is an S-140 (that's the only model no. supplied). I live on a Cottage Block in WA, size approx. 400m2, neighbours are very close. The unit would be installed literally on the fence line with the neighbours house approx 1-2 meters away (bedroom side). My question is; does Panasonic do a 'Sound Isolation box' such as the one Daikin does which lowers sound by approx 50%?. My concern is that I have this unit fitted and then only to have a complaint about the noise (which cannot be fixed)

I am not sure about that you may need to check with installer, mine is Ali 450m block it makes noise

Hi I’ve got a 137m2 of living space and 5 windows facing west is this air conditioner big enough for my house?
2 answers
Lee, depends on how you use your aircon? If you are only interested in keeping 2 rooms cool all the time, as opposed to 5 rooms kept cool all the time at the same time. Remember to also ask for zoning so that you can control what rooms are cooled - so that your aircon is not unnecessarily cooling rooms and hence overworking..
Make sure you have an installer who understands the zoning and requirements of your cooling needs at home.. Before you commit to an aircon
It would be good to cool all rooms think I may have to go bigger wat size would u recommend

I have a panasonic outdoor U-140PE1R5A i would like to know how to clean the out side unit?
2 answers
Hello Maltese12, I'm unable to offer you advice as my unit is new and I havent needed to yet. I expect that I will get it done at the next service
I assume based on the size of the Unit, you may have a double fan (top/bottom). Regardless, you will need to make sure that the unit, is free from obstruction all the way around. Make sure that there is plenty of airflow when the unit is operating. The fins that are located all the way around the back and side, need to be clear of any obstructions. There are good videos (youtube) on how to clean external units and keep the fins clear/clean and free from obstruction. Keep the area around the unit free of any dust etc, as this will be swept up in the wind, or while it is operating and get into the fins. Once the fins are blocked you restrict the airflow into the outside unit. Once the restriction of air through the fins are caused - your external unit - will be running in-efficiently. If you want more information please post.

I have a Panasonic S-125PZ2R5 reverse cycle ducted air conditioner set at 23 deg. cooling, after about 1 hour the circuit breaker pops out, why is this?. The unit is 1 month old, the circuit breaker has already been uprated from 15A to 20A, at 15A it popped out every 10 mins. At the moment I can only run it on economy mode as it uses less current but is not so effective.

What does average cost of installation cost in Melbourne?? Can you recommend a company please?
3 answers
Angel, I am in Queensland so I do not know any details of Melbourne suppliers.
I suggest you do a google search on “ducted air conditioning” Melbourne. There should be plenty of sites for this unit and installers. The unit that I bought has been awesome.
Panasonic Australia C.Panasonic
Hi Angel, with a ducted unit there wont' be an average cost we can advise. It will all depend on the amount of ducts you require, the labour required to install of them and the actual air con unit into the ceiling. You will also need wiring and piping for the air con unit. You can contact our Air Con team directly via our website for further information.

does this unit still have to run the common zone at night when only need the bedoom needs to be on plz does anyone know?
2 answers
You need to talk to the installer. If this is what you want to do with your air con, you should be buying a split system. This ducted system is more economical to set low (eg- 23-24deg) on low fan before the heat starts, running all zones. The thermostat is more than likely not in your bedroom, so running it just in the bedroom all night will be running off a temp from the common area (hotter than bedroom).....so the system will be working harder than it should and burning more power. I hope this makes sense.
Yes it does need the common area switched on because otherwise there is too much pressure and the ducting might blow out.
We find it works brilliantly leaving it on low cool in hotter weather and here in Queensland where it's very humid, setting it to dehumidify which actually feels almost as good as cooling mode.

any instruction manuals online for this system I want 2 know how 2 set the timer for night time? thanks

Did you manage to work out the timer? We just had this unit installed a month ago, and love it so far.

Just wondering if people are still happy with their system? We have a couple of quotes for different manufacturers but this one is currently in the lead for performance.
Thanks in advance!

Yep well you picked a good time to ask because it's been hot as hell around here and our Panasonic has been set to 24 degrees constantly running day and night, sometimes switching to dehumidify only at night - what a system, it really is incredible and our house is a haven we don't want to leave!.
I seriously can't fault it, efficient, economical and quiet too.
We are having it serviced this coming week and the cost is only $250 - happy with that.
The comfort this system provides during summer is priceless - go for it!!
Thanks so much for your detailed response! We are definitely going with this one
Still very happy just remember to clean the filter regularly

Hi, I am planning to get a Panasonic ducted airconditioning. Anyone have an idea how good it is. Really concerned about the sound of outside unit as it comes near our master bedroom. Is the condensing unit too noisy?
Thanks

I have a 10kW unit that's about 4 years old now. It's located right outside our lounge window and I hardly notice it even with the window open. Obviously it's loudest when it's running hard, but even then it's not too bad (I don't notice it with the window closed). It did have a rattle in one of the panels, but that was easily fixed with a small piece of foam.
I have a 12kw unit next to the master bedroom it has never kept anyone in the house awake .in fact i have to go outside and stand next to the unit to see if it's running .
