How can I increase the volume on the PVR. There is no volume control on the handset
1 answer
You adjust the volume with the unit that has speakers, most probably your TV.
You can do this from the PVR remote in most cases but will have to set it up. See manual.

Can this machine play a recorded programme to an unconnected tv in another room using a home wifi network?

when recording TV program how do you compensate for a program over-running the time
1 answer
Somewhere in the basic set up (I can't remember where exactly, check the manual or have a look through the function preferences on screen) is an option to have an automatic extension to all recordings. 10 mins is the longest extension - which often isn't enough.

Hi,
anyone had just one TV channel ie: Ten network (all 7 stations 1,10,11,12.13,14 &15) shows good reception levels, but cannot show what is on for the day! You can use the "i" button, but message shows "no programme data" then try to retrieve this data, new message states " the programme data was not able to be acquired". Yet will rest TV screen to "TEN" when it was on "Ch7"? Any clues?

I deleted 12 full length movies but it still told me there wasn't enough room to record. How can I fix it?

Try resetting to factory defaults. And try unplugging the unit for a couple of minutes.
If that doesn't work perhaps try re-formatting the hard drive - it'll be in the manual somewhere.
Also note there is limit on the number programs set to record. So it may not be hard drive.
I don't know if it's number or recording time but have experienced the warning when setting lots of recordings.

Hi, I purchased the DMR HWT260 about December 2022 and the unit has worked well. However recently on playback from SBS World Movies, the video starts to distort. This can be a split in the picture or some pixelation.
I also noticed this when I was replaying live TV after pausing on ABC HD channel.
Is there a reason for this and is it associated with recording HD channels?
Is there a problem with the hard drive?
I don’t just want to reformat my hard drive as I have programs recorded. I have used 62 hours and still have 134 hours left.
Any thoughts?
Thanks
John

this is a crap machine, I have no answers! hopefully customer service can advise, but don't count on a resolution. My machine decides to turn off because of "no activity"!! recently it decided to record programs I hadn't set, and you can't watch another channel if you are recording 2 x programs ridiculous! good luck

Hi Macclesman and Karen. Sorry for the problems you have experienced. We would suggest a reset to factory settings to see if that resolves the issues you have. If that doesn't work please contact our customer service team on 132600 for further assistance.

My Panasonic has recently begun saying it was recording two channels when it is only recording one. Won't let you watch TV. Definitely only recording one channel.

Hello. We find the automatic classification of type of recording is haphazard, so can i edit the type to a realistic one and can we group recordings to suit us?

Panasonic Australia C.Panasonic
Hi John, this is done by the broadcasters and not by Panasonic. You can't change that yourself.
2nd part: Bottom right hand side of page 30 of the operating manual has options to edit grouped titles and create groups. All I want (as in previous recorders) is to be able to sort recordings to groups such as names of person interested in viewing it. Thanks
This function was available in the previous models, sadly Panasonic has removed some of the really good functions
That is why it is not worth buying Panasonic anymore

Can subtitles be turned on and off while watching a recording
1 answer
Same button on remote (Bottom right) just not instant requires extra navigation but easy. Remember recorded program may not have had subtitles in first place if it doesn't work.

Have complained about this recorder before. Now it's decided to record non stop on Channel 10/13 shows & am unable to stop the recorder without taking wife's set recordings out also!
Panasonic did not contact when faults first happened. As a pensioner I cannot afford to go out & just buy a new unit when it plays up especially whilst this COVID-19 virus is killing off people.

Hey John,
when recording 2 programs and you press "STOP" button you should get window with option to chose which recording to stop.
If you are recording because you hit "Pause" button you are now recording Live TV, when you press "Stop" button it will ask if you want to "Stop recording Live TV"
Note recording live tv can be stoped by turning unit off and then back on.
If none of this helps I would suggest reseting the unit,
Reset the unit as per manual ......
.
1 Press [/I] on the main unit to switch the unit
to standby.
If the unit does not switch to standby, press
[/I] on the main unit for about 3 seconds.
The unit is forcibly switched to standby.
Alternatively, disconnect the AC mains
lead, wait one minute, then reconnect it.
2 Press [/I] on the main unit to switch it on. If
the unit still cannot be operated, consult the
dealer.
Thank you Bundy, I did have it switched off & disconnected for 40 minutes but to no avail. I'll give it another go & let you know.
Many thanks for your advice
Old John.
