I assume you have downloaded the detailed operations manual from Panasonic (https://www.panasonic.com/content/dam/Panasonic/support_manual/Cordless_Telephone/English_03-other/KX-TG7892_7893AZS.pdf). It has instructions on how to set up the answering service on the unit (page 55). You may have to ask your telephone service provider to set the number of rings (lots) before they terminate the call so that the call doesn't hang up before the answering machine answers.

For plain old telephone service (which is all this phone provides), Call forward is normally a function of of the telephone service provider. This is not an IP (or ethernet) phone.

Hi
when you finish adjusting date and time you will see OK on the right bottom of screen.if you can't see it well you may need to adjust LCD adjust
you will find that in the initial setting settings scroll down 8 clicks.

when ever you need to adjust something you will always use the OK which is directly under the OK on the screen the very first press button top right beside the center 4 way wheel.
hope this answers all your queries.

I'm sorry but I can't help. I found the phone very hard to programme - complicated methodology and a poor manual - so I took it back and bought a Uniden.

I'm sorry, but I can't help you. The difficult "functionality" - or menu structure - and useless "Manual" were the main reasons why I returned the Panasonic and bought a Uniden.
Try calling Panasonic's "help" phone number in your country - they will be able to instruct you on how to do this.

Thank you Howard, yes the manual is very difficult to understand. I had the Uniden and wasn't happy with it, crackled after five minutes of talking. I hope you have better luck than me..I will have to call the help line I think. Thank you for your input. Cheers Gail

Dear Brenda -
I returned the Panasonic and bought a Uniden for this very reason - the functionality is NOT intuitive (you can't work it out for yourself easily!!) and the manual, such as it is, is very hard to follow. Ring Panasonic's support number and they will tell you how to do it.
Hope this helps -

Bought the phone to use as our landline when the NBN was connected. There is a voicemail notification on the screen which appeared a week ago and I cannot clear it. We do not have voicemail connected. How can I clear this message?

1 answer
Sue O
Sue O

You may already have an answer, but in case not - Check with your provider (e.g. Telstra) as my mother was switched to NBN and found that she had voicemail she didn't want (only knew because someone asked if she had received a message, which she hadn't). I called Telstra and they gave me a number for her to phone which disconnected it : #99# She said it worked and now receives all her messages on her home answering machine. This is Very annoying, being switched to voicemail this way. I have found that every time I change my phone plan I automatically get switched to voicemail which I don't want.

The Australian DECT frequency band is 1880MHz to 1900MHz so your Panasonic needs to be set for Australia if you have not done so already, DECT 6.0 is applicable to the USA only.
NBN compatibility is not relevant as such, Retail Service Provider (RSP) Gateway compatibility is what you are really concerned about. In the case of NBN FTTP/H (Fibre To The Premises or Home), NBN supply the Network Termination Device (NTD) and it does not have an in-built DECT transceiver but instead has two telephone ports (UNI-V) where you would plug the Panasonic base station into. In the case of NBN FTTN, FTTDp and HFC it is the responsibility of the NBN RSP to provide a suitable Gateway device, some Gateway devices have in-built DECT transceivers so it is possible to "Pair" several DECT handsets to the RSP supplied Gateway and not have to plug the DECT base station into the phone port, typically the RSP Gateway supports DECT CAT iq 2.0 profile. Alternatively just plug your base station into the Gateway analogue phone port.
