Upgraded our Airfryer
Unfortunately after owning this product for some time we are now beyond disappointed.
We purchased this air fryer two years ago in April.
To set some context it is the third model we have purchased.
The first was the manual smaller version, followed by the smaller size turbo star.
We loved both but decided to move onto the larger XXL.
The other two we gave to family members.
We hate the XXL.
The dish is on a drawer mechanism which is not present on the smaller model. We have just recently had the unit returned from a warranty repair as the dra...Read more

Best thing since sliced bread
Love this "fryer" prefect for a small family. Cooks most things to perfection in half the time compared to using an oven. Cooks great steaks also.
Would have liked it if the handle was removable so that the pan could be put in the dishwasher but apart from that an excellent purchase.

Very happy with the XXL model....
The Philips twin turbostar XXL airfryer is one of better appliance purchases to date. The size is perfect for our small family....& can air fry 1.4kg of frozen chips in one go. There was no way I was buying a smaller air fryer & cooking things in batches....to me there would no point trying to keep things warm in the oven. The XXL comes with the metal double layer accessory which is very handy. The airfryer doesn’t heat up the kitchen like the oven does; takes about a third less in cooking time & you don’t have to wait for any preheating.......Read more
.just put in your food, set the temp/time & push the button. There’s no smoke & no fumes while cooking. The twin turbo does blow very light foods (spinach or grated cheese on pizza for example) but you can do a few things to stop this from happening & prevent cheese from sticking to the element etc. I can use Pyrex, Foil trays, Silicone, Corningware or other suitable ovenproof bakeware in it...as long as it fits the basket. I’ve roasted veggies, ribs, meatloaf, frozen snacks/chips, baked cakes, pastries etc. & everything has turned out great. Cooking usually entails throwing the basket & accessories in a sink of hot soapy water to dissolve any greasy residues. I really love this airfryer & it definitely makes my life easier in the kitchen...what’s not to like about that?1 comment

Couldn't live without this!
I couldn't imagine life without this product anymore. It makes dinner a breeze, can cook 2 entire meals in this quicker than in an oven or on a stove top. Putting foil under the grill basket and replacing every few meals makes cleaning this a breeze. Cant fault it, very user friendly.

perfect cant even dreamt it a while back
seriously, this machine is incredible. Can put the right words to describe how awesome this machine is !!!. Our family loves cooking with this machine. If you are having any medical condition such as cholesterol of heart condition and you are on restricted diet, this is a suitable option. It can make for a family of four. We mostly fried chicken drum sticks and potato chips in this machine. As the machine says it only requires a teaspoon of oil, and it cooks perfectly.
Cons: It is hard to clean the underneath of air frier., especially the coil area.

Great product but if only...
It’s my first airfryer. Got it from David Jones with a very good price during Black Friday sale last year. Love it as it works well. But when I’m thinking to buy the accessories, I just realise that they are not quite available yet.
I actually wanted to buy the grill pan and from the chat with Phillips customer service, I’ve been told that the grill pan compatible with this XXL model are HD9910 or HD9940. Apparently HD9910 is not sold in Australia because I couldn’t find it anywhere here by searching through Google. While HD9940 is sold here ...Read more

Good but would have loved for it to be bigger
I own the Philips avance xl and now the xxl. Love Philips brand and since i use my xl daily thought id buy the xxl. Size wise i dont see it as greatly bigger. Just a tad. I paid $380 on sale at myer and on top of that there was a 50$ Cashback promo from philips. Its good but i found the xl was more user friendly. Its a quality product.

A really good surprise!!!
This airfryer is one of the best things I have ever bought! Perfect cooking with numerous things, with a fraction of the time of an oven!
And don't forget healthier!!!! Saves me so much time, that I would be waiting for the oven to heat up! Good buy, recommend it without a thought

It meets all expectations
Its big!!! You need counter space and somewhere to store
Results are first class. Great chips, hamburgers, steaks, and even a small casserole! Need a proper grill pan accessory which is not available but I used a small one off my BBQ which fitted in the basket but that was just lucky.
Clean up was easy and quick. Glad we got the biggest one as it saves time.
You can cook a chicken and the vegies all at once.
I don't see us using our oven much anymore.
This is a very good, versatile product.

Kitchen essential
The roomy basket allows you to cook a decent sized roast chicken AND the vegetables in one go. This one is much easier to clean with the basket coming apart so you can get in all the nooks and crannies. I like the removable drip tray that prevents the oil that has drained out from recirculating and setting on the heating element like it did with the older model. Ours gets used on a daily basis. I rarely use my oven anymore.

GREAT TIME SAVING ADDITION TO THE KITCHEN
This compact unit is a bit like Dr Who's TARDIS - small on the outside, big on the inside! It can comfortably cook a 1.4 kg chicken yet its footprint on the kitchen bench is about the same as an A4 sheet of paper.
I'm impressed that foods cooked in this unit are just as crisp as I can achieve in my wall oven.. yet it needs just a teaspoon of oil. I'm also impressed that it takes only 15 minutes to roast drumsticks, 10 minutes for corn, 15 minutes for sweet potato fries. The unit looks quite sleek in glossy black and digital controls. It has a ...Read more

regretful purchase poor quality build means noisy
The oven cooks well however it is disturbingly noisy. Initially it was quiet, by the second week the noise began, now it is annoying to the extent that we dont want to use it anymore (it may be unsafe)
Sounds like the fan is broken or damaged when spinning, it emits a droning and is as loud as vaccuum cleaner.
Judging by other reviews below noise seems to be a common problem. I wouldnt recommend this unit unless your kitchen is well away from any social areas of your home. Very disappointing especially given the price tag.

absolutely fabulous
I bought this fabulous product for my husband and I for Christmas. TVSN. We had the day on our own this year, so had spring rolls, baby sausage rolls etc all from frozen, they were fabulous. Also did kumara wedges, sprayed with olive oil, S&P, and they were crisp on outer and soft on inside. Perfect. Next day I did pork and veal meat balls and the result was so good. We have done most of our cooking on manual, easy to clean, not much cooking smell and has been on the kitchen counter since we unpacked it, the food really is tastier. Tonight fo...Read more

Vibration to annoy you.......
Have just purchased this unit having owned several other Philips Airfryer that were all trouble free. When this units fan reaches its operating speed, it produces a loud, vibrating noise. If I push down on the top if the unit, the vibration ceases, however, as soon as I take my hand off the unit, the noise returns.

Hello. If I purchase this item online on EBay (brand new) is the warranty still valid? I notice some people return to the store of purchase if they have an issue. Buying online won’t allow me to do that, so what would be my option if I have an issue ?

Hi Petrina,
Thank you for the question - you can often return the appliance to an online store as well, but, rest assured, all products come with warranty. You can read more about the policy here: https://www.philips.com.au/c-w/support-home/warranty.html. We hope this helps!
