How did I survive pre air fryers?
I find this fantastic. The number one benefit is zero preheat time. The added bonus is it’s up on the bench top away from kids and easy to set and leave. The fact that chips and deep fried options taste even better in it is an added bonus. The closer, it’s all dishwasher safe

My favorite and most used kitchen appliance
This appliance has been a godsend with an allergy child. I had previously thought air fryers were an appliance that were just for those looking for a healthier alternative to deep frying but this is so much more. Most foods cook substantially quicker than a traditional oven so it makes for low fuss cooking
Pros
It cooks quickly
Preheating is often unnecessary
It’s not overly loud
Food quality is superb
Saves time with most recipes over and above pre heating of a traditional oven
Cons...Read more
Cleaning however could be a little easier. I purchased a second air fryer and it’s noticeably easier to clean (Bellini) Cost - they’re substantially more than other air fryers I’d love it to be a tiny bit larger (it is however larger than most on the market) We regularly cook whole roast chicken, fries, roast vegetables, meat, homemade nuggets and store bought fries. Meat is always perfectly tender and retains moisture and the foods that should be crispy are crunchy like fries and nuggets. I’ve recommended the machine to a number of friends.

Absolutely love this airfryer. We use it several times a week and it has saved us so much time. It is so convenient and produces high quality foods, just as an oven would in half the time. We are a family of 4 and we easily cook meals for the entire family in it. Highly recommend.

An excellent upgrade
I had one of the original philips airfryers for many years prior to purchasing this one. The original was finally on its last legs- it had started to lose its non-stick coating and was emitting smells whenever I airfried in it. I picked this one up new for a bargain ebay plus price of $300, and it's been fantastic so far. Although it's much larger in capacity than my original airfryer, the footprint doesn't feel much different, and it doesn't visibly take up a lot more space. The airfryer itself is easy to use, and you can select from a number ...Read more
of preset temperatures, and turn the dial to set the timer. So far I have cooked mostly chips and a number of meats such as steak, sausages, pork chops, and salmon steaks- all with excellent results. I'm also keen to try roasts, especially pork and whole chickens which I'm told it should fit. As with the original airfryer, it is best practice to shake the items several times through cooking- this ensures that the items crisp up evenly. In terms of improvements on the original, there are several. I like that the bottom tray can be removed for cleaning (grease would always get stuck in the old basket), I also like that the whole basket stays on a sliding hinge when you pull it out - this means you don't have to push the fryer right back against the wall to remove the items. Another improvement is the softer beeping sound when the cooking is complete- great when there's a sleeping baby at home. Although no-one technically "needs" an airfryer, it's amazing to cook with when busy as it's simply "set and forget"- no chance of accidentally leaving the oven on or burning food. In terms of cleaning, it is super simple, just pull everything out and place in the dishwasher. It is important to keep on top of the cleaning the top heating element regularly (this part can't be removed, but turn the item upside down and scrub) as this will contribute to cooking smells if not cleaned regularly- something i learned from my initial airfryer. overall, happy with the purchase!Purchased in June 2021 for $300.00.

I am very happy with this purchase. The quality of food produced from this air fryer is very good. Best for reheating the Pizza, KFC chickens and chips. I mostly use it for making the fried and wedges.
Cleaning is also very easy.

poorly made, stay away from Philips
Air fryer lasted 6 mths, front dial/button became faulty, couldn’t find receipt so no warranty, I expected a little longer out of it than that for just under $500. Absolute rip off and very poorly made. Shop around there are better on the market. Aldi offers 3 yr warranty

Love it
We are pleasantly surprised by the functions & ability of the airfryer to cook a diverse range of products.
Cakes in a 20cm round tin are cooked to perfection in much quicker times than the oven.
Roasted vegetables are cooked in next to no time with minimal amounts of oil.
The family enjoyed chicken breasts cooked with a light spray of olive oil & balsamic reduction.
The airfryer is easy to wash & the coating looks as though it will be long lasting.
My one criticism is it is bulky comparative to the basket size & it would be great if the capacity could be further increase without increasing its footprint.

This is the fifth Philips Airfryer I have purchased - all from TVSN. Purchased the original model around eight years ago and from the beginning I have been impressed with what you can produce and how quick and easy it is to use.
Have found that the XXL model is worth additional cost and gives you more space to cook. Currently have this model and the smaller Philips Turbo Star model on my bench at all times.
My first XXL model was worn out after daily use for a number of years thus I purchased this model recently. Can recommend it to anyo...Read more
ne - try making Pork Belly it is delicious. Only ever tried cooking meat, eg steak, once and we were not impressed with the result - this would probably be that we prefer our steak to be cooked Blue and the air fryer does not sear the meat - otherwise perfect. A delight to clean, we throw the the basket and the container into the washing up machine and they come out perfectly clean. Plus when cleaning the unit it is interesting to see just how much fat/oil goes into the bottle we eventually throw into the rubbish bin. Thank you Philps and Gabi from TVSN.Purchased in January 2021 at TVSN (TV Shopping Network) for $460.00.

Outstanding Performance!
As a first time airfryer purchaser I was very skeptical about the so called wonders I kept hearing about airfryers from a few friends that it generally went in one ear & out the other. Had any one of them brought over a small banquet feast they had prepared in an airfryer, I might have been more attentive.
However, it was on the advice of my personal trainer who had used one for years that I started to do some research. Everything I read and watched pushed me towards the Philips XXL airfryer mainly for its size (2 levels), user friendly & easy...Read more
to clean. I purchased my XXL in Feb 2022 & in my house of 7 people it is used very frequently. The large capacity allows you to cook 2 layers of food at the same time or just 1 layer by removing the shelf. I workout at the gym 4 times a week in the afternoon & the last thing I want to do when I get home is waste time in the kitchen prepping & cooking which was me before XXL. Now when I get home from the gym I quickly dice some sweet potatoes or carrots, grab some frozen salmon fillets from the fridge and load them into the airfryer, set the temp & timer and walk away. By the time I've had a shower, that meal is hot and ready to scoff down. Massive time saver! Thanks to its size meal prepping has been made easy. Cooking 5kg of chicken fillets in an hour is something I wouldn't be able to pull off in a conventional oven. The chicken is crispy on the outside, tender & moist on the inside everytime! I use a light spray of oil so the chicken doesn't stick but had I fried that in a pan or deep fried, the light spray of oil is nothing in the big scheme. Throw in some veges or salad and that's 15-20 meals prepped ready to go.Purchased in February 2021 for $400.00.

Over priced and badly made
First of all let me say that I am a fan of the Philips XL Airfryer. It had all the required features including a 'Favourites' option but was difficult to clean. I used it for over three years without a day's trouble and then got caught up in the hype about the new Digital XXL and ordered one. The old XL was passed on to a new home still in working condition.
The one redeeming feature of the XXL is the ease of cleaning. The operation though is much more cumbersome than the XL and there is no 'Favourites' button. The body of the Digital XXL is fl...Read more

If you have young kids, or you love chips, you need this machine!
The best thing about an airfryer is that it has zero warm up time. So when you've got hangry kids, you can chuck in some freezer chips or fish fingers and don't need to wait an extra 15 minutes for the oven to reach the right temperature.
We make our own sweet potato fries in there, and they are excellent. It's also very handy for reheating fried food and pizza. We love the bigger size, it was the one tip we gleaned from reading all the reviews. We can even roast a whole (small) chicken in there!
Purchased in July 2021 at Harvey Norman for $414.00.

Glad they brought out a XXL model
Very happy with the purchase of this air fryer. It is our second one, we purchased one of the original smaller version when they first came out and it got used almost every day so only lasted around 3 years. We did find the original version a bit small for a family but this XXL model is awesome, we use it 3-4 times a week for all sorts of different foods.

We were hesitant about the cooking concept and delayed purchasing an Airfryer for months. After seeing the Philips XXL and then doing extensive research on Airfryers, it was an easy choice to choose the Black Philips XXL.
Have cooked several meals with it and even though it has only been a matter of days, we are very pleased with the result. Home made chips are extra good.

Absolutely in love with this machine. It is so easy to use and clean. Food comes out super crispy and moist in the middle. Home made chips come out so much better than store bought ones too. It’s like having a fish and chip shop at home! I use it nearly every day so it has been good value for money. Definitely recommend to everyone. Best part is I don’t heat up the whole house on a hot day by using the oven, airfryer is quicker, cooler and less messy.

Love the XXL air fryer but!!!!!
The food it cooks is fantastic and so much healthier with less fat. However my XXL has oil/grease which sometimes leaks out onto my counter from inside the unit. What's causing this? Is this normal? I have had the unit for about 6 months, and my daughter has the same size machine and uses it for the same kind of cooking that I do, and she does not have a problem with the oil coming from the underside of the machine.
The oil comes out brown even though any oil in the bottom pan is clear or clean and only comes from the cooking food. I clean...Read more
my unit every time I use it and also wipe down the element and inside the unit with a damp cloth after every second use. The oil is not seen running down the inside silver walls of the unit but comes out from the bottom of the unit where the air vents are. Particularly on the right hand side. I use the overhead exhaust fan when cooking, and do not use any extra oil. I am currently cooking sausages (pork chipolata's) and they have very little fat in them, and yet the oil / grease is still coming out from the bottom of the fryer. I gave it a complete clean including turning it upside down yesterday, and this is still happening. Does anyone else have this problem?1 comment
