I have the Phillip's xxl with the dial.
The dial has been increasing hard to turn and I can't tell what time it's on. Last night when I tried to use it it wouldn't turn at all it basically fell off In my hand and 2 little tabs inside have now broken off.
Anyone else had this happen?

I'm keen to get your air fryer based on recommendation of friends and also the product reviews. My concern is that it appears to be made from plastic and I would think that it must be toxic when heated ? Also I don't like using non stick coatings for health concerns either - is there a pan available that's not non stick ? Many thanks Mel

Unless you can fix it yourself, someone may need to look as it may just be an obstruction blocking the door from sealing. Sorry, I would really like to help, but I am not sure.

PS - I have attached a link to the Philips website. If you put your model number in, there may be an FAQ to help, other than that I would recommend contacting the manufacturer through their website. Good luck.

Hi.... Sorry, I have only used mine a couple of times so I am not an expert. I think it depends on what you are cooking, for example, when you cook chicken schnitzels with a normal frypan, the oil can bubble after a while. I hope this helps.

Dolores forgot to say after cleaning leave open turn on highest setting for a couple of minutes to burn off residue. Also Phillips Customer Service are great just phone. Good luck.

Philips
Philips S.Philips

Hi Dolores! Sorry for the delay in our response. It's good to keep in mind that any fat or juices that drip out of the food onto the bottom of the pan will burn and cause smoke (just like in a normal pan or oven). So to make sure this stays to a minimum, we'd recommend cleaning the pan and basket after every use, and the inside of the Airfryer every now and then. Unfortunately, fat has a habit of sticking and it's sometimes hard to spot, so it helps to wipe the basket and pan off with a paper towel after cleaning, to check if all the fat is truly gone. Hope this helps! But if not, as Val D said (thanks for the compliment by the way), please don't hesitate to reach out to our colleagues on 1300 363 391 (AU) or 0800 658 224 (NZ).

Hi Adraa,

Thanks for submitting your question here on Product review. Sorry to hear what happened with the Airfryer! So if I understand correctly, the display works, but the fan is not? The Airfryer will only work with a functioning fan, so we're afraid the product is broken. However, we would recommend getting in touch with our product team at 1300 363 391 to find out if there is anything they can still do for you. We hope you will give it a chance.

Hi,
I am close to buying this product, have a question that I can't seem to find an answer to! :-) I am trying to find out if you can cook 2 different things at once in the air fryer - chicken breasts or steak and roast vegies?
Thank you

penegeau
penegeau

Hi! You could if they'd both fit. The basket is quite small about the size of a large bread and butter plate in base. (but quite deep in the walls) But certainly not as big as a dinner plate. Depending on the sizes of your steak and chicken breasts you'd probably only fit 1 steak if its a big big one or 1 steak and 1 chicken breast if they're pretty average sized. Say, about the size of your palm of your hand kinda thing. Not sure you'd fit a whole lot of veggies in there with the meats as well.

If you live near a big w or good guys or harveys or something go take a look at the size of the basket and you'll see what i mean. It might help give you a bit of a better idea, then order the appliance online if it's cheaper (which, lets face it, it almost always is lol)

As for the cooking of different things at the same time, i think you totally could. You'd just have to check the food a few times as i think they may take different times. And you'd have to choose a temp somewhere in between their instructed cooking temps.

But we've used ours to cook multiple different things at the same time, its just that some get cooked faster than the others and so are done and ready to eat sooner. We've done a meat pie in with spring rolls and i've even cooked quiches in dariole molds at the same time as cheese scrolls etc. The machine will stop after a few mins if you tell it to then you can just check it and press the star button and she will go again at the same time and temp :) or you can pause the machine and open it and have a look. Its much more convenient when checking foods than a big oven cos it takes almost no time for it to get hot and start cooking again once you've opened the draw.Ovens seem to take ages to get their heat back :)

Essentially, air fryers are mini fan forced ovens. So if you can cook anything in an oven, you can cook it in the air fryer.

Hope this helps.

Well doesn’t that equate to 800 mls. That seems awful small compared to the 7 litre air fryer I currently own. P.S. your website specs do not mention liters at all. It’s like you have tried to bluff people by steering away from the litre measurement gauge that all over air fryers are sold with.

Hi, my Phillips Airfyer HD9240 that we purchased in 2015. It now won't turn on at all!
I would've thought I would've gotten a bit more longevity out of it considering we rarely use it. Is this a common occurrence with this model?

LinnyBling
LinnyBling

Hi Jade, I only recently purchased my fryer,I am using it a lot without issues, I hope it lasts longer than 2-3 years. I noted someone on this site said they bought a new one and gave the old one that was working for several years to a family member, and that old one still working. I think the warranty is 2 years, and I have found with other brands where products die even 6 months later, a good brand company or store of purchase will repair or replace the item in good faith. Maybe the Phillips representative that monitors these reviews might be able to answer your question and if the fryer is way past warranty, perhaps Phillips can refer you to somewhere for a repair, hopefully a repair that will cost much less than a replacement.

Jade

Hi LinnyBling,

After reading some of the views, I saw a contact number for Philips. I contacted Philips and they gave me the contact details of a Philips affiliated repairer. I dropped off the air fryer this morning, who repaired it under warranty(phew), and I collected it 30mins ago. Apparently it’s a common occurrence with this model. I was very impressed with Philips and the affiliated repairer. Thankyou
