My wife used it and found it easy to use

published

I purchased this for my wife to express some milk for our son. It was easy to set up and had a lot of other add ons you can purchase.

Definitely recommend the product as it was comfy to use and the suction was gentle.

Easy to clean and store away

Great suction

published

Good pump that isn't overly noisy and is easy to use! My wife loves this machine, fits well and creates good suction from the start.
Makes pumping quick and easy, all the parts pull apart after and can easily be soaked and washed.
Couldn't have expressed milk any easier I don't think!

Very comfortable

published

I bought this just before my newborn baby boy was born. When I first tried this it appears there is not much suction and no milk came out at all. Then my friend suggest get a hand free strap to help and guess what it worked like a miracle. So I suggest if anyone who finds it not working to try a strap. It's not fast pumping compared to hospital standard one but effective enough for me. I usually pump 180ml per 30 mins every 4 hours. Also the tips are to stop for a while when the flow slows and start again.

Great

I loved this, I tried a few and found this to be the best one. Easy to clean and easy to use also easy to take apart and put back together for cleaning, my only problem with it was it's quite loud so there's no hiding what your doing even with the door shut

Easy to use

published

I find this product, it is fairly easy to use, haven't used any other pumps so don't have anything to compare with. It is comfortable though and would definitely recommend, instructions are a little complicated though, maybe recommendations for storage of milk etc. otherwise I am very happy with purchase

Good and did the job

published

This was my first pump and it did the job just right. I wasn't using the soft pad though as recommended by the BF consultant - and it maximised the outcome. Very easy to clean, very cute design, love that I could alternate between fast and slow at a whim. Overall a very decent pump but I would suggest it to those who have enough milk - and if there's issues with the amount, chose Medela instead, it seems to be more gentle yet get out more milk:)

Good pump for occasional use

published

I use this pump to express 1-2 feeds per day and it is perfect for this. It expresses milk efficiently which is great when you don't have a whole lot of spare time. It is very comfortable to use, especially when I'm feeling a bit engorged. I have the manual pump to which can adapt to use on the electric pump as well which is handy so I don't have to keep up with the washing & sterilising as frequently! The only downside is I havent found (or Avent don't make) milk storage bags that I can pump directly into.

Useful pump

published

I bought this in an emergency to replace my closer to nature pump.It works really well, not as loud as some pumps, but certainly not quiet.the nipple sheath could have been smaller for me but it was quite comfortable.I got it on special for $135.00 which is really cheap,I've seen them upwards of $200.00!Pumped quite quickly and was easy to use.

Love this!

published

i would generally use the pump for an hour (both sides) and it didn't get uncomfortable after periodic use. super easy to clean out and i will 100% repurchase with my next little pumpkin! the stimulus rythms are super helpful, and a quick tip, if you're not producing enough, try getting in the bath or drinking milo the night prior!

Good travel companion

published

When it comes to breast pumps, this one does the job but is a bit slow (given that it is a single pump) and quite loud (like a deep moo-ing sound). It is comfortable to use but the auction could be stronger, and unfortunately you cannot change the cycle speed. What I like about it though is that it can be battery powered, so at a stretch, you can use it while on the road, when you're away from an electric supply or the baby.

cheap and effective!

Always found this pump easy to use and simple to clean! It is made so the tubes cannot fill with milk making it very hygenic and reducing the risk or mould etc. Found it comfrotable to use and not too loud, i generally used for about 15mins to get a good amount of milk. would definitely use again!

Bought the avent breast pump to go with the avent bottles and electric sterilizer i got as a present. Thank god i did because this pump is fantastic. I expressed easily and i love how the bottles just screw into the pump. Easy to clean. And it is very soft on your breasts.

It works

published

The breast pump works ok, it is comfortable to sit on breast, suction is either too weak or too strong; takes up to an hour to make a bottle. The issues with the completely unnatural pumping action have lead to cause mastitis which made me switch back to exclusively breast feeding. It's easy to clean in the dishwasher.

Soft breastpump

published

Extremely easy and comfortable to use during long pumps. Easy to clean with warm soapy water and sterilization is optional but I do it anyway. Definitely will use this product again and recommend it to family and friends. The soft cushion is easy on the breast. The pump could be a little lighter.

My favourite

published

My favourite breast pump easy to take any where plus being able to put batteries in the bottom and slip it in your bag if you will be away from baby for more than a couple of hours
So easy to pull apart and clean
Took a few goes to get it right but the plus you can sit back and relax you don't have to be upright and far forward
:)

This product is perfect

published

I love this product as the suction power is quite strong and there are a few different functions to choose from the automatic suction power to others. I bought Avent pump twice the old version when I had my 4 year old boy and this new version recently when I had my newborn baby. I love Avent product especially this item that wouldn't be faulty.

perfect pump that i ever use

published

I used to use another brand of pump but not as good as this one, bottle is small easy to storage, the pump has 3 moods and I always use the strong one.
But one thing is a bit nosy when I used it, hope it can change in future.

Painful to use!

published

Used this pump when my milk first came in and experienced alot of pain when pumping, I had loads of milk so that wasn't the problem. I gave it a break and used the Avent manual pump for a few days and found I got alot more milk quicker and less painful than the electric. I tried the electric one again a few weeks later and it was so painful I had to throw it in the bin, is certainly not worth the high price tag. I did however continue using the manual pump with no problems. Definitely research other electronic pumps but avoid this one as I have heard others have had painful experiences as well.

Avent Comfort Single Electric

So... I got one second hand, ( i know its probably not recommended) Anyway, worked like a dream... wasnt too noisy and great milk output, and it just suddenly lost suction from the machine part whilst trying to express for approximately 10 seconds, then started again. Happened once to begin with. The next time it happened twice and then the 3rd time it stopped and just never started up again. You could hear it wasn't sucking at all. As I don't physically breastfeed due to latching issues I rely on the pumps and as shops close at 5.30pm, and that was the time I was expressing, I couldn't just pop to the shops and get another one, so resulted in getting yet another second hand one, which was SUPER noisy. So the early morning expression I had to leave the room to avoid waking up the baby and husband. At that point I decided I was getting new one and have the other as back up... So I got a new one. Was fine to begin with, pumping fine (still does), noise was fine.... but now after a couple of months it's starting to get noisy. I can still be in the same room as sleeping baby at this stage, just fear its going to get louder. Also with the return to work coming soon. I'm having a bit of anxiety about the noise so the questions are... 1. that first pump, is that how the die? 2. Why do they suddenly get noisy? Wear and tear? everything is plugging in correctly. As I am writing this I just pumped 500ml (1st expression of the day, but woo go me! - definitely no pumpjng issue)

Avent Comfort Single Electric

Can I use rechargeable 4 x 1.5V lithium batteries on the philips avent single electric breast pump, instead of the 4 x 1.2V Ni-MH batteries?
My spouse feedback to me that using the rechargeable 4 x 1.2V Ni-MH batteries, the pump action was not as strong as when using the power adaptor.
