I was sceptical. But it works as well as professional IPL

published

I've had the Lumea for about 6 weeks and over 2-3 treatments i've seen the same results as professional IPL. No pain, treated hairs fall out after a week. Fabulous!

Purchased in July 2020 at Shaver Shop for $499.

Definitely works!

So glad I bought this, I read a lot of reviews on it but still wasn't convinced. I've had it for a few months now and it was advised to use once every fortnight but I've used it once a week. Really happy with the results though, after the first 3-4 uses I noticed the hair started getting thinner and slower growing and now I only have to shave once a week (right before I do the treatment) instead of daily!

Purchased in March 2022 at Shaver Shop Online store for $339.

Excellent results

published

I purchased this model three months ago and have had no trouble with its operability. After relatively lengthy use at level 5 it can overheat and need a couple of minutes to cool off, but otherwise it has worked faultlessly. The cord length is generous and the machine design makes it comfortable to hold. After three treatments I was pleasantly surprised to discover a noticeable reduction in hair growth. I've found that for best results I've needed to apply treatments over more weeks than the instructions imply, but am very happy to have achieved smooth almost hair free skin, painlessly. Great investment considering the ongoing cost of waxing or shaving.

Lumea Advanced IPL SC1999/00

The manual says that the scattered light from the device is safe, yet it contradicts this by saying that it is strongly advised not to look directly at the light. If the light is safe, why can't you look at it?

I ask because I used it on my underarms, and when I held down the button nothing was happening so I mindlessly turned my head in that direction wondering if I'd placed it correctly and the flash suddenly went off. It didn't cause my eyes any discomfort, and I wasn't looking directly at it but my gaze was very close to it and my underarms are obviously very close to my head. I was wearing dark glasses at the time but the light was visible in the gap between the glasses and my cheek. It's very hard not to slip up and look at the light, I imagine most people would accidentally look at it once or twice.

Sounds quite dodgy that this question can't be answered in writing. Pretty simple question. If it's safe, why can't you look at it. I'm suspicions you don't want to answer it because you don't want proof on the internet as to what your response was.

Very mild physics knowledge here, but as I understand it, the scattered light, as in the light that escapes around the device and your skin should be safe, but it wouldn't be recommended/safe to flash the main beam of light when it is pointed at your face and not in contact with skin. Like looking at the sun directly vs looking up at the clouds in the sky and noticing 'bright' sunlight.
