Love my air fryer, i’m regular gym goer and with the help of Air fryer following diet is so much easier as it is quick, efficient and cooks without any oil cooking. I can’t think of a kitchen life without Philips Air Fryer. It cooks grilled chicken as perfect as BBQ

Not too bad for cooking results of this machine.
Chips, fried food like kfc chicken ect and sausage is not oily when i used this machine.
I can easily control temperature and timers.
I think big size better than small size.
I made bread that use the this machine today.
    Very good.

It was good for last 2 years within the warranty, but not working after the warranty period

I bought an air fryer on 2014 from Myer Chadstone. The model no is HD9230. I always loved using it until earlier last year April, it’s stop functioning. It started increasing the timer and temperature itself and then power button stopped completely. I know I don’t have warranty but I just wanted to let you guys know I didn’t expect something from PhILIPS. I was very heart broken. I emailed and even talk to them. But as I lost my proof of purchase and it was over the warranty period they didn’t do anything.
If Philips design something to work only within the warranty period, then what will people do?

    Cooks well but dangerous

I've had my fryer for a while now, it cooks great, the only problem is that the tray and basket detach from one another. If I'm taking things out of the air fryer I make sure no one is around the area as I am very concerned that it will detach and spill hot grease/crumbs etc will splash every where.

great device. Like it so much

Bought it for my wife, but hey it's so easy and I myself use it almost everyday.
I even recommend it for my mom. Great little fryer.

    the main disadvantage is:
    - No lock/safety block for the oil pan release button, hence 4 stars
    - Cannot be used for some crackers

    overall, love this

The product is far beyond excellent! Have being using it since last month and it always gets better and better! We started using it for fries but eventually ended up making almost all the dishes in there. Some of which we have never tried before in our entire life.

Viva Collection Digital Airfryer HD9230/20 (Black)

Do I have to use my airfryer under an extractor fan. The whole house smells of fried food this am. I have had to open all the windows in the house to freshen the air. It's dissapointing as I thought it had a filter to stop this problem. It's very noisy and I find the app and cookbook not very helpful. I'm not sure on how long to cook things? please help

The very first time I had to use my extractor fan but since then I haven't had to. Maybe you have something wrong with yours if it's noisy as mine is quiet. I don't tend to use the app. I use the cookbook even my husband uses the cookbook.

Hi in answer to your question re using the fryer under the exhaust fan. Okay the only time i do that is if it starts to smoke. the only reason it will smoke is if it is dirty, or you have something in there that is very fatty, or as i said it hasn't been cleaned properly.
I use mine everyday without fail and all my chops. steak, fish roasts anything pre bought in a packet that has already been cooked.

I don't know how you are cleaning your fryer but that is the most important thing you have to do. Before you use it again i suggest you make up a spray bottle of water and baking soda. Take the basket and container out, tip the machine up on it's roof and spray the inside of the roof.. Turn it back put about a cup of water in the base where the basket sits,(take the basket out) push it closed turn it onto 180 and turn it on for 15 minutes. When it has finished tip the water out clean it and the basket well (don"t use a scourer)
now wipe the whole thing out especially up the top. if you do this once a week and then after each use just keep the thing cleaned by wiping it out and you won't have any trouble.

i have never used the App just if you can cook it in the oven then you can cook it in the airfryer. i also do all my cake making i it as well.

one thing i do is if it starts to smoke i will lift the basket out and use a paper towel to mop up any excess that has come of the meat then put the basket back in and carry on.
it really is very simple and if you do this clean once a week and after every use just wipe it out you shouldn't have any trouble (beats cleaning an oven.

never throw away left over bought fish and chips just wrap them up put in the fridge and tip int basket to heat through again (beautiful)

I hop this helps you i do a lot of cooking and entertaing i do all my roast veg in the basket just a mere dribble of oil over them in a bowl season and they are cooked in half an hour. i could go on and on so i'll sign off now hope it helps

    All the best

    Hi there,

Thank you for your review. The appliance definitely shouldn't smoke that much. Most of the times this smoke is caused by a dirty heating element, pan or basket. If food residues stick to those elements and get heated up again, they will burn and cause smoke. We advise you to clean the Airfryer thoroughly after each use following the manual.

Hi, thank you for your inquiry. The Viva Collection contains all normal Airfryers, but the Airfryer XL is called Avance Collection. Main difference is that the Airfryer XL has a bigger capacity, as the 'XL' already mentions. Also, the price of the Viva Collection differs from the Avance Collection. You might want to check the following link to compare the different Airfryer models: http://www.philips.com.au/etc/philips/b2c/compareproducts.html?locale=en_AU&catalog=CONSUMER&ctn=HD9230/50,HD9240/30.
