Good morning,
Our kitchen is about 15 years old. Obviously polytec panels that we are very happy with apart from one.
The cover is starting to come away in what looks like glue is giving away. Any thoughts please.

Hi Terry, where is the door located in the kitchen? Are you able to private message some photos of the issue?
Hello, it is a panel that measures 720 x 620 and is one of six panels along the back of the kitchen bench. There are a couple of large wave type bubbles ( I guess ) that run diagonally through the pan...

If we can see a photo of the door it will help determine what type it is.
Hi I'm doing my new kitchen and I'm choosing Polytec melamine Bottega Oak wood Matt, is this a good choice or I'm going to have issues with cleaning and fingerprints as most of the comments, also will this be suitable for laundry and bathrooms or the water and moisture will affect it. Thanks
Hi Marian
Dark colours will show more fingerprints how ever Bottega Oak is a great choice and a beautiful product. You are best to order a sample and test for fingerprints and see if you are happy wi...

Is a polytec boston oak or buller stone more suitable for vanity benchtop re keeping clean . Polar white sheen looks promising but wonder about scratches and water marks thanks
Hi Cheza, as long as your installer is using high pressure laminate for the vanity top there would be no issue with either Boston Oak or Buller Stone.
Polar White Sheen should not be used in a bencht...
Hello, we are having trouble choosing which "black" finish for our new dream kitchen. We want all the cupboards and doors the same. We like the look & feel of Venette, however it has been suggested that oily marks imprint and cannot be removed. Would appreciate some advice on what wears better for marks and fingerprints in the entire range. Our preference is a matt finish but if a textured or gloss finish fairs better please suggest.
Thank you.
Hi Erin, thank you for reaching out! I would suggest booking a free virtual appointment with one of our specialists! They will be able to go through our range with you and help you decide which finish...

You can book an appointment here: https://www.polytec.com.au/showroom-bookings/online/ Thanks!I was told to clean my venette fingerprint proof kitchen doors with soapy water.....BUT ...it doesn't clean it.....even water stains are visible especially when the light hits the doors in the right angle.
It's so upsetting....after spending all that money on it ....and it's so annoying when you are cleaning it all the time

Read moreechnical/polytec-technical-evolution-range-care-and-maintenance.pdfmy cabinet maker has been telling you have huge backlog for benchtops. it has been over three months, and you still cant tell him what will be estimated delivery time. it utterly unprofessional, especially the color is in stock
Hi, can you send us a private message with your cabinet maker's details so we can follow up with this order and find out where the issue is. Thanks
I have vanette kitchen cupboards and just won't clean. Need to know a product to use.
Hi Fay
We have that polytec finish in black (kitchen installation was in 2022 with additional cupboards in 2021) and I use just an old windex spray bottle that I recycled and fill with common white Co...
Hi. We are remodeling our Kitchen and we plan on using the Ultraglaze Artic White for our cupboards doors, but i am concerned about the number of complaints about yellowing, has this been fixed, or what you recommend as the best finish.
Regards
Walter
I would steer clear of polytec. My kitchen is yellow, and to date I have had no success with them assisting me to rectify the product fault. I selected ultra white and I have a yellow kitchen. Yellow.
Hi Walter, Ultraglaze is a premium acrylic product and there has never been many colour variation issues with this surface. All polytec products come with a 7 year warranty.
Hi Megan, did you contact the Warranty department regarding your kitchen? If this is product fault and you are within your warranty period there should be no issue rectifying this.
Hi, we've just built a new house and used polytec on our kitchen cupboards and draws in the veneer white and a grey to avoid finger prints. Unfortunately I can't get marks and dirt off my white that my children leave. I've used the soft cloth and warm detergent but nothing is coming off. The finger marks on the grey is annoying too. I've looked up the care and maintenance and that's what it said to do. I rang Polytec and all they could say was look online to our care and maintenance. Some cleaning advice would be great. The kick boards are bad too as there the same as the cupboards.
Hi Lara, sorry to hear about this. We recommend using methylated spirits mixed with a little bit of water and used with a microfibre cloth. Can you please let us know how you go? Thank you.
I have the same issue we paid a lot of money for Venette Matt black finger proof units and after a year using warm soapy water we can not get rid of the marks

I have already had a white gloss Polytec kitchen and laundry replaced under warranty for extreme yellowing after 2yrs. I am having the same devastatingly having the problem with the replacement.
Has anyone experienced this. I am desperate for help.
Apparently this is a UV protection issue and my last batch of Ploytec was missing it??
Hi Gypsy, my Calacutta D'oro Matera benchtops have mat finish, they do not have a resin layer on top. Discolouration is not an issue.
Hi there, please contact our warranty department if you are experiencing yellowing, they will then send someone out to investigate. Thanks!
I have just removed the peel off protective plastic on my hi gloss black kitchen cupboards. Some "residue" is still on some of the edges.. what is the safest way to clean/remove this please?
Thanks
Karen
Hi Karen, try a streak-free window cleaner. Please let us know how you go.
Has anyone worked out how to remove fingerprints from venette cupboards?
Please refer to our care & maintenance guide for recommendations: https://www.polytec.com.au/docs/technical/polytec-technical-evolution-range-care-and-maintenance.pdf
Hi Jenny am in the process of polytec selection & am considering venette. What color is yours? We re thinking black Wenge venette
Hi. Is there a difference in melamine amd melamine wood finish and laminex and polytechnic wood Matt? I am putting in a nee kitchen and have 2 quotes from 2 different cabinet makers and one quoted on melamine for carcus etc and melamine wood grain for doors ( will use lighter tones) and the other quoted on Laminex carcass and polytechnic wood Matt doors. So confused! Do not want tiger mark issues eithet! Help ! Thanks
Hi there, there will be a difference as polytec and Laminex are unassociated companies and thus have unrelated colour/finish offerings. We suggest ordering free samples on our website to view the colo...

Your doors and panels will be decorative and dependent on your personal choice.Hi has anyone built their kitchen cabinets using Oxford blue thermo can you please let us know how this product is? We are in the process of knock down rebuild and our builder has suggested this product. After reading all the review above I am quite concerned about our choices as our kitchen overhead, island, pantry, granny flat and laundry has got all polytec thermo oxford cabinets. Please advice
Thank you Bob can you please post photos of your kitchen cabinets? . Did you use oxford blue?
Don't touch their products read a the reviews I have a new bench top unusable scratches bad bad bad
I am considering installing Polytec wardrobes. After reading the often poor reviews of kitchens I am wondering what if any issues have been found with wardrobes. Are there any reviews for wardrobes?
We are planning our kitchen and other cabinetry in a new build. Our cabinet-maker prefers Polytec to Laminex, so we've ordered samples and chosen a range of possibilities. However after reading the comments in this forum, I'm very concerned and now don't want to use Polytec unless I can be convinced that Laminex doesn't offer a better alternative.
We bought from the Polytech venette range, it’s key feature is that it does not show fingerprints. It does. We’ve installed push cupboards and may change this to handles in order to deal with the fing...
Read moreerprints. The drawers will be spray painted white so will not be such a big issue.I am thinking of having upper cabinetry venette oxford slimline no handles
and Angora oak woodmatt as lower cabinetry with casserstone bench top Calcutta Euro, looking at reviews, i am not sure that choosing a dark mattwood colour, is the best choose, reviews state that they are hard to clean@ fingerprint marks are very visible and hard to clean, can you recommend a better choice, i do prefer the dark @ light contrast, much appreciate you opinion thank you.
Hi Marj. I have Oxford Venette on my lower, upper, and pantry doors with no handles and tipomatic push to open mechanisms. I have a product called Urban Veneer in blackbutt on my highlight cupboards. ...
Read moreFrom a distance i love the look of the moody dark blue with the timber contrast. However, as indicated in my previous posts, the Oxford Venette looks cheap when looking closer due to white seams on the edges of the cabinetry and endless unavoidable fingerprints regardless of the claims that this product minimises fingermarks . I can not find a product to clean the marks off and constantly wiping to no avail. Once you see them you cant unsee them. If you decide to go with this product I would recommend handles to minimise touching the surfaces and soft close not tipomatic mechanisms. I have the Black Venette in my bathrooms with shark nose edging and only soft close. I dont seem to have the same degree of problem with the black. Good luck with your kitchen. I am disappointed in my finish consering the extra outlay in costs paid for a 'superior' product.Vanette black looks good to see but in long run worried if it will leave lots of scratches and marks
We clean ours with an Enjo bathroom mitt with water removes all marks - dont use chemicals on the matt it leave a residue
Hi everyone. In two weeks I will need to make a final decision on both, material and color for my new kitchen. I was considering to go thermolaminate Greige matt for cabinets and laminate Argento Stone Matt for the benchtop. The top cabinets would have no handles (shark tooth), and the bottom cabinets and drawers would have handles. I am hoping to have a practical, easy cleaning kitchen. Now, reading all those reviews above, I am really worried about my choices. Hopefully I still have some time to completely change my mind so I would much appreciate some advice.
Also, if someone did the same choice for colors (cabinets & benchtop), could them please tell me if the colors match? Thanks.
Hi Laine, dark-coloured surfaces will show fingerprints and require more care and maintenance than lighter coloured surfaces. As you have selected lighter colours, you should have no issues with clean...

Suggesting your customers to choose a lighter colour instead is not a solution as many of us already have a black coloured kitchen.
I just finished a new kitchen in black woodmatt. I have tried soft cloth in soapy water, streak free glass cleaner and methylated spirit, as suggested in Polytec melamine care and maintenance guide....

I am happy to share my photos or if you have any other cleaning suggestion to share, please email to [email protected].Hi we have chosen the Nataio walnut woodmatt finish for our new kitchen cabinets and after reading this thread, we are concerned of the marking like grease and finger marks to be very visible. Should we go for a different product range?
Hi Ken. I don't think the wood finishes will have the same problem. We were going to have the same walnut as feature cupboards but as we had blackbutt in other adjoing areas we ended up going with New...
Read more Aged Veneer Navurban Byron Blackbutt which is a natural timber veneer and we are very happy with and is a great contrast to the dark cabinetry. I would recommend if you select the Venette product make sure you dont have tipomatic opening and have pull handles to avoid touching the Venette as much as possible. Thanks for reply Karen we do have adjoining flooring in black Butt but we preferred the nataio walnut colour following a kitchen we saw on the web. Do you mind sharing a photo of your kitchen on this thread? Thanks again
