Disappointing experience (Brisbane)
Unfortunately, I have to agree with all the other reviews. Misleading and inaccurate quotes which they never told us about. They just took the extra money without notification from the $300 bond. Apparently having air conditioner in the car is an "upgrade". The car was indeed a bomb. Headlights not working. We felt very unsafe driving around. Will never use again. The only positive was the guy who picked us up from the airport was friendly.
Rent a bomb accurate description
Broke down, boiled engine refused to reimburse repair cost, kept deposit.
20 year old vehicle that was not road worthy. If only I had read the reviews first.
Rude staff bullies threaten folk.

Terrible, Untrustworthy, Rude service
I made an online booking with Rent a bomb in Preston, Victoria. Received an acknowledgement, few minutes later the staff called me and confirmed the booking. He said the car is available and confirmed. On the day morning, I called him to pickup the car. But the staff told, the car is not available. He also told that, he never talked to me in past regarding any confirmation, though I had the call logs in my mobile. These guys are very cheap and untrustworthy. They always confirm the booking for one customer and then give the vehicle to someone else who intend to pay more. Further, when I was talking to the staff, he responded in very rude way. This is a bad and terrible way of doing business.

Rent a bomb Sydney
Do not use this place!!!!!!!!!!! Absolutely shoddy, untrustworthy, rude - just downright terrible. When something goes wrong you can't get in touch with any of the people you need to as they are always 'out of the country' or 'only contactable by email' (email which doesn't exist). We still have money owing from these people but am not hanging on any hope of getting it. Such a dodgy, terrible organisation and worst, rude customer service ever. Don't bother!!!!

Bad cars and bad service - there are better alternatives for not much more money
Their cars are cheap and nasty and so is the customer service. Use only if you absolutely need to save that last dollar as there are other budget rental places that will give you better (safer/more economical/more comfortable) cars for a fraction more money. We have had problems with an Excel running on three cylinders, a van that smelt like mould, and a Magna that pumped exhaust gas into the cabin and used a hideous amount of fuel. Not to mention the time when we had a confirmed booking and then were told the day of, that our car was not avail...
Read moreable and the time when we tried to book a wagon a month in advance and were told that WE would have to call them back closer to the date to confirm! I mean, what kind of rental car company won't take bookings in advance and expects the customer to have their plans in limbo depending on whether or not a car will be held for the booking? Surly staff and their head-office just does not care about its customers at all. Glad there are now several other viable options at this end of the market. cheap, many branches bad service, bad cars, inability to make advance bookings for certain vehicles
Rubbish service
First, they didn't confirm the booking (Mascot, Sydney branch). Then when you try to call outside office hours there's no answerphone, so you call back in office hours and the guy on the end of the line is an idiot. It says on the website that it opens at 8am. I got a taxi from the airport ($25 because it was rush hour), I waited until 9:10 then walked back to the airport and hired a car from a different company. Not impressed and I'm surprised they're still in business.
Bomb is an under statement
From the fool taking the booking who couldn't communicate, process or do elementary maths to a car that shouldn't be on the road, this was the worst company I have ever dealt with. Just total monkeys at the zoo. Don't ever use this company. pay the extra and get a normal service
Easier to ask what was right with the service/car - nothing!

Rent a bomb Brisbane
Had trouble finding the place. Car was unroadworthy i.e. no handbrakes, no fuel, could not get up a hill and overheated. Got a second car only had 5 seats and the third car was also unroadworthy, it leaked water, had a cracked windscreen and were constantly unsure if it was going to make it to the destination.
They did replace the cars and did drive up to Maroochydore to replace them but we weren't able to do much while we were waiting for them to replace the cars.
2 out of three cars were not road worthy. And the 2 nd car did not have enough seats.
Title says it all......
Do not rent a car from rent a bomb. When you do it is exactly as it says ... Renting a bomb. I have never met a business that is as dodgy as this company... Over the course of less then a month car has broken down, batteries have died and cars replaced with an even worse cars. When the owner is brought to the attention that the service he is providing is not as he says "best service" and "reliable" is in fact the opposite he is quick to threaten that if the issue with the car is not their fault that he will charge you for it. They even tried to...
Read more fob off a fine they had last year in dec electing someone who has only had the car since late jan to cop the fine and then say it's an easy mistake... Right.... Show a little professionalism and curtesy to your customers... Word of mouth gets around and what goes around comes around. Practice what you preach! All the cars they offered had either a bad battery or an issue with the alternator. They called my mother car illiteret and the cars had issues with rust, roof leakage when it rained, even scilcone sealant was used in some areas very dodgyly done as well. I dont know how this business continues to run. NRMA was paid for but not once sent out. Very disappointing.- 2 reviews

Rent-a-bomb, Brisbane, Australia
Brisbane Airport. We were told this car was the cream of the crop, this car had staples holding the lining of the roof up covering the rust inside the roof, stains on all of the seats which were goodness knows what, filty inside and out and then to be charged a $24 cancellation fee when we said we were not going to take this car, plus having to pay $22 cost of a taxi to get there. They went to the domestic terminal not the international to collect us. The young man who served us needed lessons in "customer service". We have rented a wreak in N.Z. and felt the car and service would be similiar. Not so! Think seriously before going with this company.

Not worth it. Rip off. Does not save money or time in the end. Rent from a regular car rental place.
I realize that the place is called "rent a bomb" however we rented an auto for 4 weeks. Over the course of 5 days, we had to trade in the car 3 times. On the 3rd time, we were stranded in the car and had to wait 90 minutes for NRMA to come. Upon returning the car, which would be 4 cars in 6 days, the owner charged us the day rate instead of the month (agreed upon) rate and a cancellation fee. Not to mention, we had put petrol in all of these cars and did not receive compensation. So nearly each day, we had to trade in the car, put petrol in it,...
Read more and then return it the next day for another to begin again. It's not worth it. Euro car in Sydney airport rents a Barina for approx 100$ more. Dont bother with Rent A Bomb. expensive, no compensation for bad product and service, 4 cars in 6 days and charged a cancellation fee when cancelled the order, no compensation for petrol put into carsExtra Information
