This unit is rubbish. Buy another brand. The system stopped working after 5 years. Had a Rennai in my previous house that was still working the day I moved out. I was there for 8 years.

Why does my Rheem 18 just stop producing hot water? Turn the cold off, wait for hot to come back, then adjust cold again & away it will go. Sometime you may have to do this twice during a shower.

hello! I am renting a property where Rheem 26 L continuous flow is installed. I would like to set a lower temperature, since 50 degrees is too much even in winter; we have to mix with a lot of cold water to be good for a shower, and the gas bill is on the moon! Can someone please help?

Rheem Metro 26L Gas Continuous Flow Water Heater intermittent hot water flow issue:

Hi we are a retirement village operator and we installed Rheem 26 Gas for all our residents. One particular residents is having issue of intermittent hot water flow issue when taking a prolonged shower. Can you advise the follow two issues I have?

1) Flamesafe® overheat protection, please provide specification and explanation of what this is about and what this feature does. This is a feature for Rheem Metro 26L Gas Continuous Flow Water Heater.
2) Intermittent issue of hot water supply gets cold suddenly and get warm again after 10s-20s. Water pressure and water are perfect without any issue on water flow. The hot water suddenly changes to cold water and back to hot again. Please provide advice as to why this issue will happen when residents are taking shower halfway, without touching the tap or using water in anywhere else.

I've got this Rheem Metro 26 Max about a year old. We moved the location of it few meters due to renovations. now the water in the shower is not hot, it's just luke warm. not even using the cold water. Lucky it's Summer now. In Winter it'll be cold.
Apparently it is limited to 53 degrees according to the plumber and is now adjusted so and still the same issue. Very disappointing unit. Why do they design these without thinking about heat loss in the pipes over distance. you should be able to adjust it as you like to get the right temperature.
It's disappointing now that I have to buy another unit and it won't be Rheem that's for sure.
Don't buy it. Don't buy an instant hot water system that is limited in temperature control to 50 degC. Unless you want the hot water system back to back with your bathroom. if you have 2 bathrooms forget it.
Does anyone know how to bypass the limit of 53 degrees?

Thank you.

Sam, most, and I think Metro have an allowance for this, ie long runs of pipe where water might loose temp on the way even though they are set to a certain temp. It will increase it a bit, not a huge amount.
inside the cover of the heater will be a trouble shooting chart/service guide. You should find a section mentioning temperature as you describe. It will involve setting the dip switches in a certain pattern, you will have to figure that part out yourself.
good Luck
