My unit has no lights showing on the solar monitor I'm not actually 100% sure the solar is working at all we usually have hot water in the morning but if people shower the water wont heat again until the next day unless we push the boost.
I do hear a slight pulsing almost beep sound happening not sure what that is the unit has always done it.
You should be seeing a solid green LED to indicate the unit is working.

Hi check if you can here it pumping the green light blinks when it sunny about every one second thats normal and you can normaly hear it pumping
if thats ok you mite also have dirty solar panels . red & green means a fault with pumping .good luck
Thanks for the response. The panels are clean, and I can hear the heater heating, (more of a very dull whir, whir, whir than the sound of a pump). I will assume it is faulty.

Read mored weather even in Brisbane our system is hardly heating so we need to go back to the electricity sucking boost. we find that if you run the boost for a couple of hours its normally enough to shower 3-4 people. Now if you are not getting hot water on boost you may have a blown hot water electric element. If you have been running the boost on all the time to help keep your water hot you would have been waiting a lot of power because these things are pig on electricity. you are most like us at the moment wishing you got gas hot water instead. If it is your circulation pump be try to stay away from Rheem genuine pump replacement. Every electrician out their knows about these units and their is a large range of quality cheaper pumps then what has been installed from new. Their was no way i was going to reward Rheem by buying a new one through them as they are fully aware that these pumps are the worst on the market but their sales guys will tell you other wise. One important thing to remember Dont turn off the pump ever even if you are going over seas these things rust the shaft and seize in no time.The red light is on permately. .The green light is flashing 2 times with a pause between the 2 flashes. The operators manual says the red light indicates above 150deg temp at the panel, however it is night time at the moment with 16deg outside.Could I have a faulty panel sensor?
