This hotel has a Rinnai 32 & occasionally there is no water (hot or cold) coming out of the hot taps anywhere in the hotel & the cold water pressure is ok. At one time it happened at 8 am & then an hour later the water was hot & plenty of pressure. Is there a possibility it could be the Rinnai shutting off the water flow?

Hi. I am a plumber. I have a 32 that keeps tripping the power circuit. I isolated the unit to another curcuit and it tripped that circuit. I plugged another appliance into the original power and it didn’t trip the circuit, I concluded the 32unit is shorting the circuit. Any suggestions as to the cause? Thank you Craig

Hi this is the first Rinnai i have had and it has a neat looking pad on the wall inside with digital readout which you can adjust up and down .I was told most people have it set on 43 degrees for shower .Also you can turn it off all together if you want .They put an outside power point by the heater itself

gas people changed our gas meter but did not turn our rinnai infinity 32 on. How do I do this?

Hi Bernadette,

On your unit, there should be two taps one for the cold water going in and the other one for the gas going in. Both need to be on (by turning anticlockwise). Also you need to ensure that the electricity to the unit is on. More importantly you need to ensure that the main gas tap is switched on.

Regards,

SteC

Our Rinnai Infinity 32 will not provide hot water to the bath. Showers work well but the hot water to the bath comes on very fleetingly then goes cold. I telephoned Rinnai to book a service and they informed me it was a plumbing problem. Unfortunately for me it was the plumber who told me to book the service call as they can't figure it out. Any more ideas?

1 answer

Rinnai A.Rinnai

Thanks for the question MBW, the hot water unit will be supplying the same hot water to every outlet unless there is a plumbing issue. This is why you would have been referred to a plumber to investigate. There maybe a restriction in the pipework or tap to the bath. Removing restrictors in the tap or any build up in the outlet may resolve the issue.

Can I run my hot and cold water in half inch from my Rinnai 32 unit to my fixtures

1 answer
Rinnai
Rinnai A.Rinnai

The Rinnai 32 is capable of delivering 32 litres of water per minute when connected to a controller which is set on 40o C, ½” copper tube has a maximum delivery capability of 17 litres per minute.

When the pipes are too small, when a second tap is turned on the water flow changes and the hot water can go cold. This will mean you won't get the full potential from the unit. For half inch pipes we would only recommend an INFINITY 16.

For more technical advise we offer a help desk on 1300 555 545, they can offer more information on the minimum requirements for our systems.

can i adjust the temp of my new rinnai 32 water heater its not as hot as my last one?

1 answer
Rinnai
Rinnai A.Rinnai

Thanks for the question Peter, it will depend on the model and the way the unit has been installed. There are now restrictions on the maximum temperature that can be delivered to bathroom areas either by a factory set unit or a valve that tempers the water temperature.

Our technical team can advise your options on 1300 555 545 option 3. You will need the full model number of the unit (found on the data plate on the left hand side of the unit starting with REU)

Hi. Never had this problem before - every Rinnai I have every had has worked faultlessly.

If there has every been a problem its been because a circuit breaker trip the electricity. Gas supply could be another.

I would check that the power connection is ok and that the wind is not blowing out the flame (wierd as there is no pilot light and it would take a good wind to blow out the burner when powered up.

Otherwise check with the retailer.
