Powerful unit for the price.
Firstly it is easy to get home as the clever way it is packed means the box is reasonably compact, its probably a good idea to have help loading it although it's not excessively heavy at just over 20kg's. Assembly is quickly achieved and the necessary tools are supplied too, the unit upon setting it up may seem small however don't be fooled as it has plenty of power for the home user. Checking / setting the blade clearance is easy and you can also sharpen the blades as you go. (make sure you follow the instructions on all counts) Controlling it...Read more
is easy with the buttons conveniently located on the top of the unit too. It comes with a 55 litre catch bin which slides underneath and this has a separate cut off switch on the front which you must slide up when fitting it or the machine won't operate. I found a minor flaw with the design of this bin system in that the cuttings can build up to the height of the shredder ejection port which then causes a back up inside the feeder neck when the bin is actually only just above half capacity. You therefore need to either remove the bin and level the cuttings out or as I began to do, just tip the unit forward to remove the blockage. The bin feels a bit flimsy too, time will tell on that one. I have run different types of foliage through it with varying results and on that, you need to keep in mind it's a crushing type shredder. Because of this it performed just ok on yucca leaves but better with the stem. To elaborate, it left the leaves still in one piece but mangled so at least they were much easier to dispose of, the stems were mostly turned into small pieces. Where this unit excelled was with tree branches and accompanying foliage and that 45mm maximum allowance is quite generous. I had my doubts it could handle something that big however the unit has plenty of torque and for branches of about 20-30mm, it just sucked them in with no need to trim them unless they just couldn't fit in the opening (it has it's limits) Noise wise it's pretty low key, the blades turn at a slow rate so there is no high pitched buzzing noise but more of a low rumble. It senses when there is additional load on the blades and increases the speed slightly but returns to normal thereafter. Overall it is worthy of your consideration and I would have rated 5 stars if it wasn't for the annoying issue described with the bin.Purchased in February 2021 at Bunnings Warehouse for A$399.00.

Does what it says!
Seems to be the same as the previous model Rsh2445T.
Shredded 7 cubic meters of branches, hedging with leaves, palm prongs mix of wet and dry. Did not skip a beat. Seriously impressed. Easy to set the blades as per instructions. Most cuttings are around 1-2cm in size. I did cut many branches wet and dry that I could only fit and it seems to really prefer those. Sucks it all in.
Wish it had a bigger bin! But that’s it. Money well spent!
