Exactly what I wanted at a great price
In these days of having to pay extra for batteries, and what a rip off that is, for cordless tools, to find one that comes with not one but two batteries was brilliant. Has multiple speed settings, plus the ability to control the speed using the trigger, two torque settings, a forward/reverse switch and a battery level indicator. What more could I want? I'm just a hobbyist/home owner so don't need something that needs weight training and a tripod to support it so it's perfect for me.

One of the best tools I ever bought
I needed a high torque, versatile hand drill-driver I can use to drill for wood, steel and drive screws. Compact to use anywhere, drilling holes in wood up to 32 mm, high speed fuction (up to 1500 RPM) if drilling 2-3 mm holes in steel or wood, two batteries, quick recharging, simply brilliant, using it several times a week as do-it-yours-elver, mechanical engineer by trade.
Definite value for money, thinking of buying a second one. (bought 2.5 years ago. going strong)

Not too bad
Great size, two speed gearbox, good battery life.
Bad chuck setup, design flaw, lots of play (wobble) in the chuck ruins an otherwise goood product

Find out how Ryobi RCD12022 compares to other Drills
Know better, choose better.
The idea was good, but this drill is rubbish due to a simple design flaw.
I was looking for a compact driver drill and the RCD12022 looked like it would fit the bill.
Unfortunately, this drill has a major design flaw in the chuck spindle area.
Brand new, I noticed a horrible amount of chuck wobble. The problem was/is so bad that the end of a drill bit moves about 5mm or more. After about a dozen uses (drilling and screwing), the chuck and spindle literally fell out of the drill body! The problem, appears to be that the spindle is only held in with a cheap, nasty and very thin split ring. As there is so much slop in...Read more
the spindle, the split ring fails and the whole thing just falls apart. There is no way to get the spindle back into the drill either (certainly without voiding any warranty). To their credit, Ryobi (Bunnings) exchanged the unit for another of the same, but the replacement drill is just as bad as the original. I don't expect the replacement to last long either since there is the same amount of chuck wobble. All the other units I have looked at in Bunnings are the same too. Shame.. Now looking for another brand..

Essential piece of DIY Kit.
I burned out my trusty 8 year old Bosch cordless screwdriver so went looking for a relatively inexpensive cordless screwdriver so I could assemble my new garden shed. I'm not tradie but seem to end up doing odds and ends around the place on a regular basis so needed something that was relatively lightweight, fast charge and/or 2 batteries with speed and torque control - and if it could do drilling as well - bonus. For $129 I found this to be good value - soft carry case, 2 x 1.3Ah lithium batteries and 1 hr desktop fast charger. Lithium batt...Read more
eries should have long term storage with low use without too many issues unlike Ni-Cd which I see some other units still use. This has 12V so found it had no trouble drilling sheet metal or timber planks. The shed is built - this is small enough to get into the corners without a chunky battery handing off the handle (the pack fits completely inside the handle), 2 speed gearbox (0-400 & 0-1500 rpm) with 20 torque settings and variable speed trigger plus a chuck that can use any generic drill or driver set (not included). Enough power for anything I could throw at it and the second battery takes a second to change and you're off again. 2 year warranty a bonus. Adjustability (speed, torque settings), lightweight, compact, 2x1.3Ah lithium fast charge batteries, keyless chuck, desktop fast charger, soft carry case, built in LED work light and battery level indicator Bright green - love it or hate it! But you'd find it in the dark I guess .... ? Some of the torque setting writing around the check rubbing off already and not sure how the hollow handle will go (where the battery inserts) if dropped but so far so good!Similar opinion?
