Samsung owner for life!
Best mobile phone I have ever owned. Fully featured, love that the fingerprint scanner has been relocated on Note 9. Camera is brilliant, I rarely use my DSLR camera these days.
Needs to be in a cover or case, being all glass it is easily damaged. Apps all run smoothly. Device management is simple. Love the smart pen feature. Love the differing levels of security on this phone. Facial recognition is quick and reliable even in low light..no more risking others seeing your PIN or pattern when accessing the phone.

Awesome!
All features are so easy to use on this phone. This is my first note and i absolutely love it. Camera is so clear. I use the phone for games and other general use mostly texting, voice texting etc... and all apps work great. Brightness control is so good you can change all in settings. Very satisfied.

Excellent all-rounder! Best phone on the market.
Was originally going to purchase an iPhone XR as I heard it had excellent battery life (far better than my Galaxy S9). The salesman told me about the Note 9, saying it had outstanding battery life (4000mAh) and was "the best phone on the market." He said "if you don't like this phone, you won't like anything." I wasn't aware until he retrieved the phone from out the back, but I was actually sold a dual SIM variant; which can be very handy.
This phone is not meant for the everyday person. It is for someone who wants the absolute best- a massiv...Read more
e battery, insane processor, stylus for taking notes and a superb camera. As Samsung puts it, it is for people who demand everything in a smartphone. Let's just say I am one of those people. Strengths: Excellent dual cameras (you'll be Instagram famous in no-time) Massive 4000mAh battery (lasts for 12 hours with moderate use) Wireless charging (massive convenience when you're trying to plug your phone in in the dark) Massive AMOLED screen USB C1 comment

Samsung Care has been a disaster to deal with. This alone ruins the Samsung experience.
The phone was behaving pretty good — then 6 weeks in I started to notice odd errors. From slow text key responses, then to the assistant menu literally “spazzing” out all over the place before settling and unable to unlock the phone.
The issues were sporadic. On return the phone was scratched (!) but I was able to remove it, and the S Pen nib blunt (!) — so much for the “care” aspect being delivered to customers.
I would not recommend a Samsung Galaxy Note 9 after this experience which is tarnished by the Care received or lack thereof.

Fast, bright, quick to charge with QC3.0 chargers
It's quite a large phone, so make sure you handle it (or a dummy of it) before you buy one. Think about how much bigger/heavier it will be with the style of case you intend to use with it.
Size and weight aside, the phone is very responsive, and has run every game that I've thrown at it, flawlessly and without lag. The ability to add a MicroSD Card is a bonus. I've read it can handle SD cards up to 1TB, but I've only used mine with a 256Gig, and it works fine.
It should be noted, that under the default firmware, there is no option to make M...Read more
icroSD cards "adoptable". I can't comment on rooted phones, as I'm not willing to try to root this phone. The stylus is accurate, and good for note taking and drawing (personal lack of skill aside), and has the added functionality of being able to help you to remotely activate the shutter on the camera (within bluetooth distance). The Note 9 has a separate headphone jack, so you don't need to use a special adaptor to plug your own head phones in (when you're not using bluetooth headphones). One thing that I do find annoying, is the "Edge Panel", which allows you to add you favourite contacts and favourite apps, which you can access if you swipe from the right. I accidentally activate it when using the phone (and other apps). It's supposed to be a quick access way to switch apps and stuff, but you can already do that using the "previous apps" button. I only just learned how to disable it (in Settings>Display>Edge screen)1 comment

No words. So disappointed and let down.
The phone was behaving pretty good — then 6 weeks in I started to notice odd errors. From slow text key responses, then to the assistant menu literally “spazzing” out all over the place before settling and unable to unlock the phone. This was reported in detail to Samsung who proceeded to take my phone and send it away. I was told I would hear within 2 days the outcome. I never received a phone call. I called them on three occasions and was guaranteed a call back. Not once was I called. Then last call I eacalated it to VOC who didn’t share nor ...Read more
care — but did say my phone was being returned and was blatantly a software issue (all they did was reset the phone, something they could have been done from home). Upon return the service notes did not indicate the issue to be investigated. All they did was reset the phone and it worked — no surprise. The issues were sporadic. This experience has been horrible to say the least and without the phone for a week and a half. What could Samsung do? Nothing solved just a set of movie tickets. The catch? On return the phone was scratched (!) but I was able to remove it, and the S Pen nib blunt (!) — so much for the “care” aspect being delivered to customers.2 comments

Terrible
I switched from the Google pixel 2xl to this brick. This crap goes on and on about it's battery life which I've barely noticed a difference from my old phone. I get pop ups and unwanted screen ads which I'm not used to considering that never happened with my pixel phone. Just changing the theme will cost you money. Not to mention this slow chunk of scrap will literally crash with just chrome open and only 1 tab. I can't scroll through Facebook without glitches and pop ups and the inevitable crash. Let's not even mention the terrible speakers an...Read more
d glitchy phone calls. I cant text from the pull down and in general it is clunky and not streamlined at all. I've never been more disappointed in a phone, and I had the S4 for over 4 years. I hate this phone and truly regret my purchase as I'm stuck with this steaming pile for two more years until I can upgrade. Literally any phone at this point would be an upgrade.1 comment

Love the Bluetooth pen functionality
Including point the pen at foreign language and it will translate.
Write notes onto screen as soon as unlock pen from phone,
So many other options, I don't even own a computer anymore as this phone with DEX actually becomes my computer onto tv screen without any other parts required to purchase.
The in built speakers are actually amazing lol.

Very functional.
I have had this phone now for nearly three months. I switched back to Samsung after 7 years with another brand. For me the stylus and associated options for use is the shining star here. Love it. So easy to take notes on screen shots, hand write quick notes or more detailed documents and hand write on what's app. Very functional.

Very very good.
This is the first android phone that I have actually liked and enjoyed the unique features it offers. I used to like iOS simplicity but since switching I have found androids features to be eye opening. The hardware is very capable for everything I do. I use it for youtuve. Filming 4k. And gaming on PUBG. My only gripe is that I though all version were dual Sim. But actually only note 9 that is bought outright from Samsung are dual Sim.

Excellent, I absolutely love this phone.
Samsung has never disappointing me, I don't remember using an iPhone for longer than a week or two, and end up missing my Samsung. with this device, yet again Samsung has exceeded expectations, it's just perfect and I am hoping to use it for a good 3 to 4 years. The picture/video quality is beautiful, the sound is crystal clear and loud, at 128GB it's perfect for me as I am not a heavy user, the battery lasts my nearly two days, with fast charging there is nothing to not like about this phone, it is the real deal.

Now that I have one, I can't go back.
Every Now and then the phone does crash and stutters. Sometimes it cannot handle what it's suppose to handle. The camera is excellent the editing apps and software is great. Even in the dark you can still take a selfie and see it clearly. The durability of the phone is one of the best so far. So I can't complain. Brightness of the screen is dangerous and can affect the eye's. I use my phone for business purposes only. It's a great way to do business.

A faithful Apple customer no more
I have had the note 9 for just a week. As a long time (all-time actually) Apple faithtful phone owner, I finally made the switch to Note 9 -- and boy I'm glad I did! Once upon a time android phones were very unstable, ugly, and had poor app design, and these were the reasons I never made the switch, but those problems seem to have been solved for the most part. I may be somewhat biased on this review having never experienced the customisability of Android, nor a phone with a stylus, however I find the note 9 is stunning in it's design, speed, a...Read more
nd the customisation options are still wowing me (as I discover them) even after a week. I should also mention here that I switched from the Iphone 6s and the size was a huge concern for me to begin with, however I am absolutely loving the large screen and after just a day of using the new phone I cannot believe I was worried, nor would i have any interest in going back to a phone the size of an iphone 6. The stylus for all my purposes works beautifully -- I would have liked angle detection, but I'm no artist so that's not a real concern for me, I would only use the stylus for the most part with planning digital UI's. Performance wise, there are some very slight hiccups in responsiveness eg. on the odd occasion I tap the home button and nothing happens for a second etc. but no major issues that I didnt also come to expect on Apple devices (which I use as a gauge for reliability and stability). The app world of Android was also quite surprising to me -- all those apps that I loved and enjoyed and PAID FOR on the Apple ecosystem -- all free on android, say what now?Similar opinion? Very happy Apple convert
Decided to give this phone a go, having owned two iPhones prior.
This phone is the real deal.
This model feels and looks like a premium product- the back is sleek and modern, and feels great in your hand. The range of features the phone offers are really fun- primarly, its Pen feature. I thought the pen a bit silly at first, but am now constantly using it to write notes and doodle when bored.
The phone offers a lot more customisation than my last iphone (7 plus) and has OUTSTANDING screen and sound quality.
I think I might just stay with Samsung, if this is anything to go by..

fantastic phone, hands down
my wife initially bought me a note 8 which was fantastic. I was previously using a galaxy note edge which still runs to this day. she figured I had deserved a new phone and thus the note 8 came. she was also looking at upgrading her htc and that's when the note 9 came out. so instead, she bought the note 9 for me and she got the note 8. simply put; the note 9 is awesome. I got the 512gb ocean blue model. I still had a 512gb micro sd and there's no way you can really use all of that storage. speed: the phone is super fast and does not show any l...Read more
ag while running multiple apps. I've used the 2 screens with running different apps and it works great. when transferring movies using a usb stick, it's even faster than a regular laptop. battery: I have the habit of turning off my data at times. i once noticed that from 99% battery, it dropped down to only 80% by the end of the day. leaving the data on is no problem and the phone is capable of handling easy. on the train, i watch movies while the phone is paired to my qc35. the dip in battery is only like 5% after a 45 min ride. spen: I'm a very heavy user of the pen. in meetings i just bring my phone and use the pen for taking down notes. it's then transferred to my office email draft which i then clean up once i get back to my desk. I've used the spen to also remotely control the camera as well as power point slides. i haven't tested the water resistant / drop capabilities but these i will definitely not want to find out. external connections: the note 9 comes with a 3.5mm jack which is a must for me. though i have a wireless headset, i carry the 3.5mm chord when i don't want to go Bluetooth. the note 9 allows external storage to be plugged in. I've used usb sticks to transfer movies but the best part was when i connected a 1tb hard drive to it. no problem and no lag in browsing the drive. i copied tons of movies into the note 9 and it handles it pretty well. for the next note in the series; unless they come up with something REALLY eye catching i will not let go of my note 9. there are rumours that the next note will have larger storage, better camera, on screen finger print...all of which i can do without. I'm not really tech savy and am not the person who jumps at the first sign of a new phone.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Display ratio is not that great but same goes for other mobiles too
May be my old mobile was too good.
My old phone was Samsung A9 Pro which I bought from India which was having 6 inch display.
Samsung A9 pro is having wider display than Note 9 which gives better ratio but there is more to it. In A9 Pro display, you can see higher details like shadows and brighter color contrast where as in Note 9 everything just lights up. If I play same video in both mobiles, I can see the experience I am losing to see vivid colors which I cannot see in Note 9. Surprisingly colors are more vividly displayed in Samsung A9 Pr...Read more

How do I get music from my desktop to my note 9?
2 answers
if you meant mp3 then you can copy the files via usb cable. On Note 9 pull down notification panel and change USB mode for file transfer
PhilSamsung
Hi Robert,
You can click and drag certain music files from your PC to device.
1). Connect your device via cable to a PC
2). On your PC, when it prompts you what action you'd like to make with the device - Select open files
3). In the device, find the music folder
4). Click, drag and drop the music file into the device's music folder
Easy as that.
