Oppo AX5
Why waste a lot of money on a $1000 phone when you can buy this phone on a budget and still get to experience many of the features of those high-end phones.
Not to mention, the impressive camera quality using a dual main camera and an amazing front camera allowing you to capture photos in different conditions at the best quality possible.
The battery capacity is beyond average, allowing you to stay connected for up to 6 hours of constant heavy use and more than 24 hours on standby.
Being able to do more than just calling and messaging, Oppo AX...Read more
5 allows you to play high performance games without lag. The outstanding 4GB of ram allows you to multitask to the next level, having multiple apps open at once without having to worry about performance deteriorating. I love this phone and would recommend it to everyone!!

I love this Phone
I love the colour operating system on this phone. Its an Android system. It works very similar to an iphone. Ive had two of these and the screen is delightful and the apps work great. The good thing is you can get them on special at BigW for $200 that come up now and then. If you want it unlocked just go online to optus and pay $25 to get it done. I wont be going back to expensive iphones. I broke the screen on my first one but I can load it with music and use it as a jukebox. Screen dumps are easy too. Just lots of good options that just work. Good on you OPPO! Thanks

Good Phone, No software updates, ColorOS is horrible
Ignoring the software side of things, this is a really good all rounder for a budget phone, I have been using it as my main phone for a year now and it's a really good phone. There are a few things that let it down, firstly there is no USB-C only Micro-USB (Type B), which is okay but everything is now starting to switch over. However what really drags this phone is ColorOS. ColorOS 5 isn't that great at all, notifications are extremely bad, there are only notification numbers for Facebook and WhatsApp or the built in applications. Otherwise the...Read more
apps will show a dot next to the icon, which is extremely dumb and stupid, also the notification sounds are the worst things ever, I switched to custom ones almost instantly. However what really sucks and shows how poor Oppo is with their software is that this phone will not be getting ColorOS7 (despite a trial version button in the settings which does nothing). They said (this is from words from Oppo themselves) "Sorry, but the Oppo AX5 will not be getting updated to the latest android version, but we will keep rolling out security updates and patches." This really annoys me, this phone is a year old and 2 android versions have already come out, with android 11 almost out too! This means that this phone will stay on Android 8.1 forever and there is no posts on the XDA fourm on how to root this device and get Custom firmware for it, leaving me and the other users in the blank. Not only this but they haven't updated the security since September 2022, I am writing this on the 29 of February of 2020, absolute appalling. This is quite sad, this shows the lack of consideration on Oppo's end and how they don't care about their customers. Despite this being a good phone, the software puts it down, so unless they suddenly agree to push ColorOS 7 out for the Oppo AX5, I'd say go look at another budget phone, from manufactures like Samsung who actually update their phones.Purchased in November 2021 at JB Hi-Fi Retail Stores for $210.00.

Good specs, good value for money, but the OS (Color OS) is marginal
Great battery life, fast processor, OK camera. The hardware is good value for money. But the ColorOS operating system is immature and clunky. Connectivity issues especially with bluetooth dropping out often. Does not integrate well with Garmin Connect and cannot view Health Stats on phone. Many familiar app notification sounds changed leaving you wondering where the notification was triggered. I'm returning to Samsung.

If you want good sound forget this
I have had many phones but this is the worst sound I have had. Rest of the phone is excellent, so why would it have sub standard sound. JB HiFi were no help saying that is why the phones are on display.....so you can check them out. But a salesperson did say it sounds like there was no base. As sound has never been a problem with other phones I never thought to check it, not that you really could as there was only one piece of non descript music on the phone. JB surely could have said phone had very tinny sound. OPPO, disappointed with this model. Would not recommend if you like a good speaker sound. Works a bit better with a Bluetooth speaker, but not good with plug in headphones.

A good budget smart phone
I purchased it on an Optus deal for AUD$249. It came with an offer of a free 'sports watch'. The watch arrived quickly, a few days after I followed the instructions to get it. The watch was a Y7 smartwatch and its nice, not great, but nice. So is the phone. As an older person, I just need a good basic smartphone to do usual tasks like calls, sms, check banking and the odd photo. I had a Motorola G6 Play before with 32Gb storage and 3Gb RAM. The Oppo has 64Gb of storage and 3Gb RAM (4 would have been better), but it's fairly snappy and doesn't ...Read more
usually lag at all, like the Moto used too. I also have an old iPhone 6s and an original Apple Watch 42mm, but I prefer the Y7 as its light, charge lasts 10 days easy, and it covers all the basics. I can pretty much get 2 regular days (8 hours each) with moderate use, from the Oppo phone. I had my iPhone battery replaced a year ago, but it won't get me through a full day, nor will the Apple watch now (To be fair, I have used both for 4 years daily) If you just need a good basic smartphone that won't break the bank, I think the Oppo Ax5s is pretty hard to beat.Purchased in November 2021 at Target Australia for $249.00.

Google calendar lock in Ax5s
I know it is standard practice to lock into a Google calendar, but my previous Oppo had an independent calendar. Now I have no choice. I don't want to use Google calendar.
The night shield isn't great, and the brightness adjust itself when this is turned off.
Auto focus of camera is a little delayed, and it struggles with whites at times. But quality is ok.

Great price Great Phone
Got one of these as a first time user of a smart phone. It cost $250 at a store having a discount sale. Usually $270. Havent had a problem with it. Have all my security on it (Trend) and other features they sell for Mobile phones,. Went over seas and got a Woolworths global roaming sim card for use overseas. If your travelling check them out. It was great to have a phn that could hold 2 sims. Found I used it for everything I normally did on my laptop when travelling and my laptop is now rarely used. The screen is bright and easy to read.

Ok phone, outranks other brands in its price range
This is my review of the mobile phone Oppo AX5, model CPH1851. This smart phone had been repackaged by Telstra PRE-PAID, Network 4GX.
This model had been released in 2018 although I bought it in April of 2022 at Kmart in Melbourne for $259 in the store.
The screen measures 6.2 inches. This display has a good brightness and good colour. This Oppo operates on Android 8.1.0 and Color OS Version 5.1. The weight is 168g.
The main reason of which I wanted to purchase this model was it’s price, 6.2in display and large memory capacity: The device ...Read more
storage is 64 GB in total. The device’s RAM is 4GB. The processor is a 1.8GHz Qualcomm SDM450 Octa Core. So these are all good or even much better than a lot of other Android phones that were available on the market to myself at the time within the $259 price range. I've also installed extra memory with SD card which I bought separately. This Oppo was assembled in China. The top built-in earpiece of the phone is hard to hear. The voice call volume might be ok to listen while indoors in a quiet place set a maximum however it is difficult to hear outdoors and I live in a quiet small country town. I’ve complained about this volume issue to Telstra. They didn’t know what was causing this low volume issue. This low volume issue is known with this model and other Oppo models. It is unacceptable that a brand new phone will have such low volume issues which cannot be resolved.Purchased in April 2021 at Kmart for $259.00.

how do i jail brake my phone because i canot rember my acces code
1 answer
First off, just to let you know you can't jailbreak an Android phone, that feature only existed on iPhones. Since you can't access your phone you will have to hard reset your device by pressing the power button as well as the volume down button. Hold onto those buttons till you reach recovery mode and then select an option that wipes the data/restores your device to factory settings. Hope that helps :)
