Outstanding device but lacks apps
The Samsung Galaxy Watch offers alot for a smartwatch. Battery life can go about 4 days without always on display and 2 days with always on display. The rotating bezel is awesome to use and is reliable. I have gone swimming with it many times and it works just fine. All of my notifications show up on my watch. Having the ability to call people from my wrist is a good experience. The speaker is fine, but obviously hard to hear in public. Using bluetooth headphones for calls and music work well.
The main downside of this watch for me is the lack...Read more
of apps it supports. No google maps, no facebook messenger, etc. If more app support was added this would hands down be the best smartwatch to get. Only other slight complaints are that the 46mm version only comes in silver/grey (42mm has more options) and the wireless charger uses micro usb instead of usb C. Overall it is really solid, just lacks app support.

Mixed bag - good watch
This would be a 5 star rating, and is a great smart watch. I however have had issues with floor count and this leaves a bit of sour taste in my mouth. Despite a widely reported issue of fluctuating floor counts (where I do 120 floors one day and 0 the next - despite similar activity levels), samsung has ignored this problem.

Piece of tech that I now use everyday.
Initially I was skeptical about purchasing a smartwatch because a lot of opinions are that these devices are user specific, but after buying one I can say that I fall into the category of those that consistently use it.
The build quality is exceptional and feels solid (although slightly heavy) on my wrist. The main feature that sets the galaxy watch apart from the competition is the rotating bezel that has a tactile feel when you're spinning it. After I connected Samsung Pay to my card I can just use my watch on terminals now without needing t...Read more
o pull out the wallet! The reported battery usage is around 4 - 5 days between charging but I've found that with heavy usage in notifications, calls, calendar items, fitness, and sleep tracking I'm only managing between 2.5 - 3 days between charges. Nevertheless if you're looking for a smartwatch in this category then would highly recommend considering the Galaxy Watch.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

I've had a few wearable's now but this by far ticks all the boxes for me
I first had a Note 9 then the S10 plus, with both phones the watch is the perfect companion. It's even come in super handy on a few occasions when I did not have my phone with me and I could take an important call. Super happy with build quality and features.

So dissapointed
Saved like crazy never spend this amount of money. It overheats and shuts down just sitting on my table. Battery last 4hrs if I'm lucky. Should be wearing it but it never works properly. First month was great lasted 3 days.

Terrible rubbish waste of money
I just hate the samsung 4g galaxy watch.
I loved it though when I first bought it for about 1 week. Then it started overheating when web browsing. Then it started sending out random mobile phone numbers to my friends.
The store I purchased it through replaced it straight away which was terrific as it was only 2 weeks old.
So the replacement started overheating again ( in Australia )! Boring. The store said send it back to Samsung for a Service. I did. Samsung say it works within their specifications so they consider that there is nothing wrong ...Read more

The watch doesnt work! Samsung wont refund my money!
I purchased 2 Samsung Watches in October 2018 for my husband and myself. I previously used a FitBit so was aware of my activity levels. I found that my Samsung watch did not record my steps accurately, or map my sleep or other activity effectively. I called the contact centre within the 1st week and was told it would have to go for an assessment. I didn't have the time to go drop off the watch for an assessment immediately. In December I ran a test of the Samsung watch just for step counting. I counted my steps manually, i compared it with the ...Read more
fitbit and I compared it with my husband's samsung watch. Despite my complaint being about 'accuracy' the samsung centre just tested if the watch pedometer works, which it does. I then lodged a VOC assessment. Same thing. Did not test accuracy, only checked if the pedometer works. I have asked for a refund or a replacement and have been told that since no error has been found this cannot happen. Well of course no error has been found since samsung insists on testing the wrong thing. I did another test on 14 Feb between my husband's watch and mine and there is a difference of 600+ steps. I am not doing this for fun. I have other Samsung products and have enjoyed using them but this has really soured the whole experience. I have followed Samsung's processes and procedures to no avail. How can a company which needs to provide a refund or replacement assess the product in an unbiased way?!?!?! I was ok with a replacement earlier but I will now be going to FairTrading to get my money back because I am done.2 comments

Alright in most areas - but the overheating!!
Bought in November 2018. Since the first week this watch gets hot on my wrist almost every second day, then gives a warning beep with an error of 'watch overheated, will shut down' or similar. After a month or 2 of that I'd had enough and took it back to Telstra. They sent it to Samsung. Samsung says 'nothing wrong with it'. I have it back for 2 weeks now and the same thing is happening. Contacted Samsung direct and they just don't seem that interested. The person at Samsung seemed like she was just going through the motions and didn't c...Read more
are, and wasn't very helpful. A quick check on google found that this was a problem with the previous model and is a known issue with some of the latest models the same as mine too. Spent over $600 on something that is just mediocre - not a nice feeling. It's not like I want much - just the product I bought to work that's all and not feel like it's burning my arm every second day.2 comments

Battery life poor and service is terrible
I can't comment on many of the features, because to achieve an 18 hour battery life I have had to turn OFF, exercise monitoring, heart monitoring, and sleep monitoring. Also, the handwriting recognition function will turn itself off after 2-6 hours, every time. So I'm continually turning it back on.
Worst of all is the service. See above comments - "if you want us to look at it you have to have it assessed by a technician." Except when you have an issue that only occurs after a few hours they refuse to actually test the defect, instead just...Read more
running some standard tests and then refuse to accept it is an issue. I have been told by their VOC team that I "need to see the store staff again because I probably haven't learnt how to use the function". Summary, in many cases the product is good, but their service and support is so bad that it is not worth the risk.2 comments

Not much it cant do!
If you can run your samsung phone its a walk in the park...so easy to use, very bright amoled screen, nice and clear, responsive and lots of features..rotating bezel is very good as is the watchface options. You can download additional watchfaces and stop watch etc.
Connects to samsung phone easily without messy passwords and the like and the health app to display your settings and challenges is good without being brilliant. Only negatives so far....battery goes quicker if lots of use and screen left permanently on (about 1.5 days). A full cha...Read more

Awesome
I bought the Galaxy Smart Watch after doing research into Smart Watch options. I got an amazing deal and paid $399 at Rebel Sport. I have been really pleased with the functionality. Every day I learn an additional feature. As well as being functional it is aesthetically nice too & comfortable to wear everyday.

Lovely watch, lousy battery
After years of upgrading my Fitbit with the latest and greatest I decided to make a switch to a watch that looked a little less "smartwatch" and more like a regular watch. The 42mm rose gold Samsung Galaxy watch definitely doesn't disappoint in the looks department. When it comes to performance though - it does lack in a few areas.
The "Product Expert" at Harvey Norman happily advised I'd get a good 6 days out of the battery which was definitely a step up from my Fitbit Blaze. I figured since I'm at the gym 4-5 times a week perhaps I'd sha...Read more
ve a few days off that to be a little more realistic. Well, I definitely overestimated. It lasts 2 days if I'm lucky. Rather disappointed but the features of the watch I must say do still make me love it. When I first purchased the watch I was an iPhone user. Whilst it worked relatively okay paired with the iPhone, the moment I switched to a Samsung Galaxy S9 (shock horror after YEARS being an Apple fan), I discovered so many other features that paired seamlessly with my phone. Fitness-wise the heart rate monitor does drop out A LOT. Here's where the Fitbit definitely outshines the Samsung Galaxy watch. The step counter appears accurate, but the "floors" counter does not. Not sure whether I have to update more details in my samsung profile but it appears the calories burnt seem a little over exaggerated during a workout too. (Weights workouts on my Samsung say I burn over 450 calories whereas my Fitbit I was lucky to get to 300 for the same workout) Despite the unimpressive battery life and some issues using it to track my health and fitness I do still love my watch. It's beautiful, pairs well with my new phone and its nice to wear something a little less "sporty" for every day.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Love it!
I've been eyeing a smartwatch for about a year. Almost bought the Gear S3/Gear sport a few times but s3 was a bit too big for my wrist and the Sport didnt look as good in my opinion. So when the galaxy watch came out, I ordered one right away. I've been extremely happy with my purchase. i think its one of the best looking and featured watch on the market.
My main uses
- notifications
- never miss a call or message if my phone is on silent
- vibrating alarm (so I dont wake up my wife.)
- step counter
- timer
- control my music

Not water Resistance
I bought my watch in Dec 2018 and after my first swim I realized it behave strangely so I took it off my wrist and put that in my swimming bag. Once I arrived home it was stuck in "Galaxy Watch rebooting" mode! I contacted Samsung Customer Care, booked a time and hand over my phone for inspection. What surprised me was the feedback from call centre saying I can only swim in PURE water !! When I asked what is classified as PURE they said "not salted nor chloroformed water", which in my opinion is the 99% of the places I swim. In short from my perspective this means I cannot swim with this watch which was one of the main reason I bought the watch for.

Best Smart Watch on the market
Purchased the Samsung Galaxy Watch R800 (Bluetooth) 46mm watch and love it .
Heaps better then any other smart watch on the market . Battery last about 4 days between charge, the military grade waterproof and shock resistance is brilliant and had no issue with this watch in water and getting knocked . Great feature and so many different watch faces to suit just about every occasion
Also a great looking watch classical watch design which can be dressed up or down with custom leather or metal bands to fit your style which looks a lot better then the tacky I-Watches

Where have you been all my life?!
I never had too much interest in smart watches. I didn't see what the hype was about when you can do everything on your phone anyway. But I was gifted a Samsung Galaxy Watch in Rose gold for my birthday in November and I LOVE IT!!! Not only is it a gorgeous looking watch, it's so handy. I love that you can customise the watch face (during Christmas I used really cute Xmas themes). I love the steps counter. Just the best smart watch
I'm so happy with the performance of my Gear S3 that I bought Galaxy Watch 42MM.
Almost identical specs with Gear S3 but now it is now completely water proof. I give the users a lot of health information which is vital when you are trying to loose so weight or just want to be active.
There are tons of available apps to maximize the watch usage. Really happy with this purchase.

Don't buy this watch
Took me a while to buy a smartwatch and was excited by what this one promised, unfortunately it doesn't deliver.
My key conerns relate to why I bought the watch, monitor sleep and for fitness.
Firstly, the heart rate monitor barely works. I did at least 25 workouts, before I sent it back the first time, and not once did it monitor my heart rate for the whole duration of the workout. In fact it battled to do it for about 40% of the activity. May have a lot of different workout settings, but they don't work.
Half the time I can't get a readin...Read more
