Great cheap toner
This is a great inexpensive toner which works and smells great to minimise any bright blonde tones. I leave it on for about ten-15 minutes, (not much longer because as with any toner you can over tone your hair and make it look light purple in places.) I use it after shampooing and before conditioning so my hair is soft. however you can use it after conditioning too.
Absolute miracle!!
I dyed my hair and ended up with golden yellow roots, I was horrified and embarrassed. Picked this product up from woolworths and left it on all of my hair for about 35 minutes. After rinsing the product out I used conditioner so my hair wouldn't feel dry on the ends and once my hair was completely dry all the golden yellow tones were gone. I would definitely recommend this if you are struggling with horrible yellow tones in your blonde hair.

Nordic blonde toner saved my life
Tried every other blonde toner I could buy then found nordic it saved my life. Had bleached my daughter's hair as she wanted the pink dye removed from her hair and I turned it bright yellow/orange so rushed to chemist to buy the most expensive toner I could find tried it on dry hair left it on for 30mins did nothing. So back to chemist I went saw nordic blonde toner which was very cheap didn't expect great results as I heard bad things but thought it couldn't hurt..put it on my daughter's dry hair for 30mins and it was a miracle it worked...life saver as no more angry teenager and beautiful blonde hair. Give it a go you won't be disappointed.

amazing!
this toner is so great! although you will likely need to adjust the way you use it to see results in more orange or brassy hair. i was in the process of going blonde from burgundy hair, so obviously my hair was incredibly orange and brassy after i bleached it. i used this toner along with the provoke silver touch shampoo, only because the toner can be hard to spread evenly and left it on for 20 mins rather than the 1-5 recommend on the box. once i rinsed my hair, it was a gorgeous blonde with ashy blonde highlights - it's ridiculous how good this product is for only $8

Trustworthy.
I have very long thick hair. It usually takes hair dressers 4 hours to colour, wash and dry. I admit I disregarded what it says on the packaging because I wanted a full My Little Pony hair colour. So I put an entire tube of this on my hair, and left it for 45 mins, I think because my hair is so thick it needed longer. But my hair is undamaged, and looked gorgeous. I recommend a conditioning spray after you rinse.
Wear gloves and condition
My hair is brown with blonde highlights and it tends to throw out a lot of red and warmth. Tried this product for the first time. It did provide some toning, maybe one level. But not a huge difference. I have thick hair so think I'll leave it on for 10mins next time and increase in increments. I would definitely recommend wearing gloves as it's quite drying on the skin. I would also recommend a good conditioner afterwards and a hair serum.

Works brilliantly!
Bought this to use on my daughters hair after she had bleached her hair from her natural dark brown to blonde. Prior to using this product her hair was that horrible straw yellow colour. As soon as we applied we could see the yellowness disappearing and we left it in for 20mins instead of the recommended 1-5mins (her hair is very thick). End result is a beautiful natural light blonde colour with really lovely white highlights throughout (probably the result of me not ensuring it was evenly distributed but nonetheless looks really good). Will absolutely use this product again and recommend it to anyone looking for a cheap toner that really works. Make sure you follow it up with some great deep conditioning treatments.

Did nothing
I went from dark brown to blonde using the Nordic L1 bleach and it left my hair very "gold" (which is probably because I didn't leave the bleach on long enough - but I didn't want to be white blonde), so I went and bought this to try and take some of the yellow/orange out. I repeated it twice in the 1 day and it did nothing to change the colour.
My holy grail toner! Watch the yellow dissappear
I am unsure if this product works the same for everyone but everytime iv gone back to blonde this toner has been the only to save me! I recently had a hairdresser ruin my platinum blonde hair turning it dark brown with flickers of blonde and that was supposedly her take on balayage. I waited a bit and decided to bleach my whole head back to my white blonde. Given the brown she put in it i threw off alot of yellow on my roots and top part of my head. I tried evvvveeerything from purple shampoo even silver semi permenants and nothing would banish...
Read more the yellow.. i even tried bleaching twice more to get the yellow to lift it just made it worse. Then i remembered the nordic toner and i was sure that's what got me my creamy white blonde everyone loved last time. So i painted it on the yellowness and bam! Got my platinum back. Amazing for the price
This product actually used to be crap. It used to basically be just stinky, grossly textured with a slight purple tint. It never worked no matter how long it was left in. I recently picked it up at Woolworths because I heard they changed it and it is amazing! It is now a very dark purple goo (which is a good thing). I leave it in for a good 5 minutes every now and then to revive my faded colour. It turns my dull blonde hair into a beautiful silvery colour. I would actually compare this to some $50-$60 shampoos I have tried. although the smell is still quite strong but not as bad. You do need to rub it in thoroughly though, not just smooth it on otherwise it will be uneven and leave purple or blue streaks in parts where it wasn't rubbed in.

Great product!
I was a bit scared to try this after reading some terrible reviews but this product is actually great. I didn't have a lot of brassiness to tone out but wanted to brighten up my highlights, which is exactly what it did.
Some of the issues might be from how people use it. I started with a diluted apple cider rinse (an alternative to shampoo), then I put the nordic blonde toner into my hair (as I would apply a conditioner) and left it for 2 minutes before rinsing out. I then used a moisturizing conditioner, followed by a moisturizing hair mask. ...

Worked very well suprisingly...
My hair is brown in colour naturally and I have bleached it and coloured it blonde...it can get orange and goldish in certain light and this toner helped stop that. I only put it in for literally 1minute as I was scared it would turn my hair green or blue but it didnt. It toned down the orange to a more ash blonde colour.
I will buy it again

Uneven Poor toning
I used this recently after highlighting my hair at home for the first time. My hair is naturally golden, so I get really brassy highlights. I used this product and left it in for 5 minutes. The result was mild toning overall (still quite brassy, though not as bad) and with very uneven toning of some pieces. I will not use again.

Worst Product Ever
I stuck with the 1-5 minutes and my hair went from a lovely platinum ash to red, purple, orange, blue and grey. I mean what the hell! I hated it, worst ever!

Love this product!
I usually get a full head of foils every 7-8 weeks through out those weeks my hair gets abit yellow/brassy looking, so this is my go to toner! On the back of the packet it suggests to leave it in 1-5 minutes, I usually leave it in for about 20 - 30 minutes to get that grey/ash looking blonde tone in my hair. Also very affordable around $8 from woolworths, chemist etc

Turned my hair blue
To write this review I have really had to wait and calm myself down. This product turned my hair grey/purple/blue. I naturally have strawberry blonde hair so there is a bit of a red tone through it. I dye it blonde and I use a straightener a lot so it gets quite brassy. I used this toner to get rid of the brassiness. I kept it on for 3 minutes and timed it (recommended between 1-5 minutes). I washed it out thoroughly and when I got out of the shower I noticed it was a light purple/blue so I assumed I had not washed it enough (which I found odd)...
Read more. I jumped back in the shower and re-washed it. I got out again and it was still blue/purple which some sections white/grey. The most brassy sections (the ends of my hair) had not changed at all. Please, please do not buy this product. I now have to have my hairdresser come over to fix it and I can't leave the house it looks that bad. Don't let this happen to you! :(- 42 reviews

Removes brassiness, orange and 'straw yellow' tones beautifully
I have level 4 long brown hair with a fair smattering of silver through the front half of it, so I did what any woman does who doesn't want that 'dirty grunge' look while the silver comes through: I went heavy on the bleached highlights. And that generally means 'orange' or 'brassy' or 'straw yellow' tones.
Please be aware that this product is NOT a hair conditioner. It isn't necessarily going to leave your hair 'soft' after use. This product is a toner, so when people complain that it left their hair feeling dry, I'm assuming that they're...
Read more assuming that it's a hair conditioner - particularly as it comes in a fat tube that looks rather like any other hair conditioner packaging. Given that it's not a conditioner. I'd suggest either conditioning hair with whatever tickles your fancy after you've rinsed the toner out, or simply applying a leave-in conditioner or heat styling protection (eg: silicone) product to soaking wet hair after rinsing the toner out. This will make all the difference in the world. As toners go, Schwarzkopf's Nordic Blonde is first class. Some (like me) may need to leave it in for longer than the recommended 1-5 minutes (I generally leave it in for 10-20 mins twice a week because I have a lot of hair that's very thick and very long) but I'm going to guess that naturally silver/grey/blonde hair would stick to the recommended 1-5 minutes to notice a decidedly refreshed and brightened difference. In my own instance, the first time I used it, I stuck to the recommended time limit (1-5 mins) and although the 'straw yellow' effect wasn't completely gone, it was most definitely much brighter and had taken the 'edge' off the yellow. The next time, I left the it in for 15 minutes and the bleached areas of my hair were most definitely a bright 'Nordic blonde' as a result.
