Whats happened to Sealy? Used to be such a high quality brand back in the day. Now the complaints are coming thick and fast on every website you read. Not all of them can be wrong. Used to be great at honoring warranties (I actually had to use mine once and they were great) now I hear they fob you off nowadays. Come on Sealy don't go the way of other manufacturers just to save money! Stay true to your core values and be not just another rubbishy mattress maker but a GREAT mattress maker and honor all warranty complaints.

Our very old Sealy was replaced with a new Sealy and the old one went in a guest bedroom ..... obviously the old mattress is still very comfortable and was fantastic quality, but I think the newer one is even better - we learnt that we preferred a softer bed and the new one definitely delivers!

I don't understand that if you used your warranty once and had no problem, why would you suggest that Sealy are any different today - go by your own experiences, not what you interpret others are saying....

Jcd

Hi Geroge and thanks for your reply. The reason i think they are rubbish nowadays is although they actually replaced a mattress years ago for me (they had to as the dip was hugely visable) this was over 20 years ago. Since then i have known 4 people who have had a Sealy and ALL were refused their warranty claims for various reasons. Im not saying that ALL Sealy mattresses are rubbish as clearly thats not the case but more that they seem to be going the way of the other major manufacturers by not honouring their warranties like they once did and using cheaper foams and fillings so mattress will sag faster which they refer to as body impressions LOL.I do hope your new mattress lasts and you have many years of use from it but if it dosen't you may have difficulty having your warranty honored.

Hello sealy, i need a good quality mattress that will be good for my hips, back shoulders and neck problems and one that will last minimum 6 to maximum 10 years budget of $1200-$1400

Leeanne,
Thank you for your email and for considering joining the Sealy family.
Our innerspring mattresses are specifically designed to provide excellent support for your hips, shoulders and neck (noting that a new mattress will not alleviate existing medical problems, but it will help to reduce further aggravation).
I would suggest visiting your nearest bedding store - the store locator on our Sealy website, will direct you to stores that range Sealy in your area. For the price range you have indicate, the store(s) you visit will be able to assist for the size of bed you require. Our warranty for normal domestic beds is 10 years.

Recently purchased the Diego medium king ensemble at Harvey Norman Capalaba, still trying to adjust to the medium feel, previous mattress was plush. Is this mattress considered to be good quality? Are the reviews for it good?

Thank you for contacting us about your new purchase.

Your new Sealy® bed may feel a little different to the mattress you have been sleeping on, and sometimes your body will feel this difference. This is normal and your body will soon adjust to the benefits of the comfort and support your new mattress will provide, at the same time your new mattress will also adjust to your sleeping style. This process will take as long as your body needs to adjust.
Our mattresses work by firstly providing the comfort you desire then through to our support system (the spring unit). There is a wide range of combination of comfort layers which can include different types of fabrics, fibres, gel foams and foams. These are all optimised to conform and provide your body with a comfortable sleeping surface.
As far as quality goes, all our products are thoroughly tested and quality checked before leaving our factory. This is also supported by the 10 Year warranty provided with the product for your peace of mind.

Thank you for your reply, the feel is different to the one we tested in store, perhaps this is due to the store mattress being constantly tested?
I have no doubt Sealy is quality, I just wanted to know where the Diego slotted in as to the higher end Sealy beds.

Sealy
Sealy A.Sealy

Sealy’s Diego is part of our PostureLuxe range. We would say that it sits midrange in the Harvey Norman Sealy collection.
We can also confirm that it is normal for the store models to feel softer as in most cases the foams have relaxed on display models due to the normal day to day testing by customers. The product you received is built to order for each consumer (unless you purchased a floor stock piece). Being brand new you can expect that it will feel slightly different until the foams have had time to settle and your body has had time to adjust to the new comfort.

Glynn - I found that for the 1st week, and was worried I’d made a mistake, but it has softened and I’m finding it to be incredibly comfortable.

Sealy
Sealy A.Sealy

Hello Glynn,
It is not uncommon for a new mattress to feel slightly firmer when new. Unlike the model you tried in store your mattress is brand new and will need time for the foams to relax and for your body to adjust to the new sleep surface.
Amanda is right in saying that it will soften within 6 – 8 weeks and will start to feel like the one you tried in store.

Hi there, I purchased a sealy king sized mattress on 29th May from Costco north lakes, and received on 11 June. However, I saw there is a winter promotion In Costco today which the price dropped $200. Please advise what is your price guarantee policy. Thanks

Sealy A.Sealy

Thank You for your query. We, Sealy of Australia are the manufacturer and do supply Costco, however we do not set or recommend retail pricing. Retail pricing and promotional offers are set by the retailer, in this case Costco.
Our recommendation would be that you contact the Costco North Lakes warehouse to establish their pricing policy.

What is the difference between the Sealy Briolette Plush and the
Sealy Briolette Flex. One store told us that the Flex had an extra foam layer on the top and it was $100 difference, and another said no, rubbish, it is exactly the same and $200 difference. I would like to know, as the Plus is good but I feel I need that little bit of extra comfort.

Sealy
Sealy A.Sealy

Thank you for your query. The mattresses are very similar. The main differences being, the Briolette Plush has two foams in its comfort layers – deep supersoft foam and cushioning foam. The Briolette Plush Flex has three layers - deep supersoft foam, premium foam and Sealy foam, as well as the flex edge allowing the Briolette Plush Flex mattress to go on the adjustable base.

Sealy medium pillow top mattress is inferior quality and sags in after a few months. There own “matress inspectors” with a piece of fishing string and sinkers and “measured the bed! Already sagging in more than 16mm in a year and they reckon 35mm is still acceptable??? So after 10 years it will have 160mm hole in it. Very comforting to know what rubbish we have to sleep on for 9 more years??

Took a month to send these inspectors with unprofessional testing methods out. So how do they know if there is a problem inside the matress if they are using such poor testing techniques?

After protesting that I accept the outcome, they want me to wait another month to collect matress for internal inspections? Poor service.

I will now proceed with further action against sealy!

After reading all these similar reviews and also having a similar story maybe it’s time we all got together for a class action and some media attention.
I have been to the Office of Fair trading who as I have found out are a toothless tiger. They agree I have a case but can’t take any action and have suggested I seek legal advice.
We too are told our faulty mattress is just a comfort problem and has been returned and supposedly reconditioned 3 times and it continues to sag. They now will recondition it one more time if we sign a waiver to never claim again, despite 7 years left on our waranty.
I don’t know how those woman can work in “Customer service” and despite all the poor reviews turn it around to say it’s our comfort that’s the issue.
How can a company not stand behind its product has me stumped, and keep up the pretence it’s you not us!

I was just thinking g the same thing,,,, Sealy have sold us a terrible $4000 mattress like it's seriously worth more than my car! It's so hot it feels like my skin is burning off at night, it's been back twice and the pillow top removed and the springs make a terrible crinkle like cellophane sound when rolling over and I'm pretty small/average size female. I'm sleeping in my daughter's room, husband can only sleep 4hours in bed :( I was thinking TV or current affairs :( I don't have any more $$ and the chemicals in it are bad, not to mention the grooves with the pillow top

Hi Natalie, thanks for sending your message. The Fiorenza and the Mayfair are both from the Exquisite range of Sealy mattresses. You can view more information about the Exquisite range on our website. http://www.sealy.com.au/mattress-range/posturepedic-exquisite Those mattresses both feature similar components. Thanks Sealy

We found the same - stores sell 'Exquisite' but not the sme individual names. We were told in one store that eaach company selects there own fabric pattern from Sealy and select the name to use. Hope that helps

Hi, I purchased a Sealy matress, box spring and frame and mattress cover 10 years ago. The springs in my matress are completely gone, sagging. I purchased it at the Brick but they won't do anything for me becauseI wore out the matress cover and now the mattress is stained. What does the matress cover have to do with the springs. It certainly isn't going to prevent them from going. I am wondering if you as the manufacturer are willing to do anything? 10 years is not a long life for a matress. I have a 30 year old Beautyrest matress with no box spring that is in better shape. Juanita

Sealy
Sealy A.Sealy

Hi Juan, thanks for your question. Like most manufacturing companies we change our range to offer our customer the latest technology and materials available in bedding manufacturing. For us to remain in a very completive market this is something we need to do on a regular basis. It is not possible for us to refresh springs used in products that are over 10 years old as we are not able to match the existing specification. To provide this service we would have to find a specification as close to your existing mattress which then in turn equate to us performing a service that would bring the product back to as new condition. It would also leave us open to customers not being satisfied with the feel of the mattress which then makes us accountable to remedy the issue on a product that is outside of the warranty period. We hope you can understand our situation on this. Thanks Sealy
